Windows 10 Login Screen Background Changer! [Uploaded to GitHub!]

the tool automatically modifies the "Windows.UI.Logon.pri" present in "C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon" folder. Before modifying the PRI file, it first creates a backup of the file with the name "Windows.UI.Logon.pri.bak". So if something goes wrong, you can boot using Windows setup disc or bootable USB drive and then select Repair option and then open Command Prompt tool from Advanced Repair Options. Now you can safely delete the new PRI file and then rename the BAK file to "Windows.UI.Logon.pri" again to restore default login screen. Or you can run SFC /SCANNOW command to restore all default system files.

 

i was already ahead of you, i used the tool before, i just said that line because of what i experience just right now and i had backup ready, incase a problem came up, which did.... i did say in earlier , it worked before perfectly with the script they had.

M$ is insisting ppl use only their image seems like. Sad you cant customize like the ol days.

P.S.: the avatar icon is in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft the User Account Pictures folder, rename this folder and the avatar will be gone

 

I got 3 different computers, when using this changer 1.0.2 , 1 computer only change colour, but cannot change the background, 1 computer stuffed up when changing the backgound, and the 3rd one changed the background successfully.

Why different computer has different behaviour with this app?

 

Yeah i'm still getting the same problem with mine, it's just getting to the point i can't login with the changer. Unless there is other "take ownership" we need to do and including permissions, etc we miss. My computer is windows 10 enterprise. (64)

Program i'm having a problem with, the script i will test tonight.

there should be no more issues.it seems as if they have stopped including the login screen in the patch updates as the last update they sent did not change back to hero background and alls still functional.perhaps now people wont have issues

 

Just tried the github repo .... Had to lookup how to reboot in safe mode in Windows 10 .... if anyone wonders how: hard reboot 3 times. The point at which you hard reboot is really important: it needs to be when you see the windows logo and before the login screen shows up. Took me 20 odd minutes figuring that one out.

Needless to say I have reverted the changes and got the regular (ugly) login screen back.

Hi, ran the tool as admin but when I both open the program and attempt to apply a new image i get an error: "Access to the path 'C:\Windows\SystemResources\Windows.UI.Logon\Windows.UI.Logon.pri' is denied". Im currently 0 for 2 in making this work. The last time i tried was with an older version that caused my login screen to get stuck in a nasty loop where it kept opening and closing the cover image. This time i'm using the github build and now I gte this error. I understand it seems MS keeps patching out these mods but any help would be appreciated.

So, how did you fix the loop? I've just tried your program and am now stuck in that loop with no obvious means of logging bqack in to undo the damage. Must I reinstall Windows 10 from scratch to resolve the issue?
