I would like some assistance if Anyone is willing to help me. I am looking for a way to save all the Windows Xp Updates onto a cd or DVD so that I may download them Directly. In Case no one understand my question, for example Like downloading Yahoo and saving it to computer to burn to cd or DVD. Please email me with a workable link that will allow me to do this. Either on CD or ISO for dvd.

    Thank You

urie, I agree with your statement, but it would be easier for any new user that comes around looking for WinXP/Vista/7 updates to see them as stickies, instead of posing the same question again and again. ;)
It's up to you, anyway. ;)

I'm using windows XP SP3. Can't remember last time I use control panel 'automatic updates', i mean years. I want to download the updates like Windows 7 updates. Is it possible with any of these alternatives? I was going for this alternatives, but eventually m$ update I€ browser (from now on referred as update.m$.com) started to show some results (156 high priority to be accurate, 520 MB). It was giving an error 0x80072EE2 before.
    1) Still, I can't access in 'update.m$.com' > 'use administrator options' > 'Windows Update Catalog'; it's returning Server Error 404.
    2) In I€ browser there is an update regarding genuine verification KB905474. What it does if installed? though it's activated.
    3) msinfo32.exe or System Information is missing somehow. Is there way to retrieve it ?
    4) In I€ browser there is an update regarding m$ office 2007, which i don't have. i have 2003. why am I receiving this update?
    5) In I€ browser there is an update regarding Visual Studio 2010, 2008, 2005. why am I receiving these updates?

    appreciate your help

win updates does a poor job of checking your system config, it just looks to see what updates are on your machine based on KBxxxxx number ... It throws updates at me that have been replaced, combined, or otherwise unnecessary. Some of the office 07 maybe compatibility pack updates. I have office 03 and 2010, yet I get office 07 compatibility update and ms security tool updates, and I don't have ms sec tool installed.

Interesting idea, Nlite tool lets you make a slipstream disk which can include windows updates in the roll up. I wonder if NLite can make a .iso thats nothing but windows updates. I tried it on all the .Net packages but wasn't possible.

Those listed above are all great apps to use to add updates to an already installed version of XP. But if you want to include ALL updates released to date by Microsoft to your installation. You should use nLite. It's an XP tool that allows you to "slipstream" updates. It even will rebuild the ISO for you. Caution, the file size will exceed 700 MB, so you will need a DVD to burn it again.

My windows xp sp2 has stopped updating and my desktop always freezing. My question is, does freezing has something to do with my windows xp sp2 not updated?
