I have the same question. You can activate the license server with no problem but installing the CAL's is the problem. The agreementnumbers that are available for 2012 are not working for 2016. If you install the generated CAL 2016 license with the known agreementnumbers it says 2012 R2 license, so 2016 is then not licensed en stops working after 120 days.
Unfortunately I have no agreement number for 2016, only a list for 2012 I use it only in an extended home environment with RDS, so I will not buy a license because it is not cheap.
Hello I've tried with the agreement from above "pastebin.com/yk7SiDcr" and have been able to install 100 licence "per user" on my virtual server 2016 used for testing, the expiration date is "Never". So I don't understand this post! ;-)
Run the app, "RD Licensing Manager" and then check the "License Version and Type". Does it say Windows Server 2012 or 2016? Thanks.
Yes i have managed to get it licensed for 5000 devices. The problem was that i done it per user with another agreement number that was not working for 2016. Very happy with it, so now RDS working full in server 2016
I have tried that for you with the agreement number from the tutorial. When i select "Windows Server 2016 VDI Suite Per Device subscription license" to install it give me the error "The licensing agreement data provided to Microsoft is not valid. Check all the information you provided, make any necessary corrections, and then resubmit your request. If the problem persists, contact Microsoft Customer Support by changing your connection method to telephone." Maybe if you could find another agreement number it might work
I just was curious if it was possible to license 5000 devices... a little overkill i know, but now i know it's possible
