I found that to be the most important part. Right in front of me, on the desk, there is 21" monitor, but if I want to watch a video, on the table next to me is simple 32" TV, cost less than $300, connected by a $4 cable.

I dont have room for more than 1 screen, tv or pc monitor, besides, i watch all my dvds on pc.

Strange but i find watching old dvds with a 4.3 picture better on a 4.3 screen. :)

If you're a cord cutter, all you need is 1 screen anyways. ;)

My 32" 1080p HD TV acts as both a TV and as my PC monitor. Plug the hdmi cable directly into my video card and I have full sound and video out of the same device. It sits right here in the living room.

I'm cord cutter so I do not subscribe to cable or satiate tv, but if I did, all I would need to do is change the impute via the remote. Which is exactly what I do for my blu-ray player. But everything else I use the computer for.

Well... If you were a real cord cutter, you would get one of these. :p

There are several software programs out there that allow you to create your own region free dvd disks/or just store the files on your HDD

A pair of these to keep them cool:

    6 8GB Hynix PC2-5300P 2Rx4 HMP31GP7AFR4C Server Memory Crucial:CT102472AB for a total of 48GB

A Quiet 1000-Watt Modular ATX Power Supply

    *** My go to comp
total 8 devices in my house hold and for family

3 24" LG Flatron's Studio Series Monitors with 3 ATI Radeon HD Vid. Cards

Powered up by Seasonic 650 Watt PS

Kingston memory, and Kingston SSD 3 of them in total at 500 GB capacity

Powered by the famous and most expensive Intel CPU that ever been produced by Intel back in the day, X9770 that retailed for $1200.00US a pop 10 plus years ago and today is in the top 5 top notch cpu's ever made in the market :) this CPU will be going to the grave with me :)

No hardware problems for over 10 years plus not a hitch, plus a brand new sealed ASUS Rampage Formula board in storage ;) for a rainy day,

This set up is the only one that I enjoyed and maintained, I used almost every thing that is in the past and current market, for me this current set up is my sweet mark and bench mark... cant say anything more

System runs like a fine swiss watch, minimal heat, no noise and very snappy, runs adobe photoshop, and autocad, like they both are small 10 GB apps without a sec. of delay or hitch and both in cascade mode, this setup has all the power that I will ever need in my lifetime...

All OS's have been custom modified pre- installs by " winreucer ex-100 " site: http://www.winreducer.net/winreducer-ex-100.html

@brosmith: The core 2 duo wolfdale E8400 is a 64 bit processor. With that said, you can run Windows XP x64 or Windows 7 x64. Then, you can take advantage of the extra RAM. :)

If and when you are ready to do that, take a look in the Windows 7 sub-forum. You can grab a true-blue Windows 7 ISO image there. Use the Windows loader to activate it.

Or ask about Windows XP x64. ;)

    @Michaela Joy

My desktop originally had Windows 7 Pro and I purposefully downgraded it to Windows XP Pro. I really enjoy the simplicity of XP as well as being able to avoid Microsoft's telemetry (although about 3 years ago Microsoft tried to trick me into believing that my system would immediately become corrupted if I did not upgrade to Windows 7 - that really irritated me). Someday in the future I might go back to Windows 7 Pro but right now I am happy where I am at. By the way, I already have the necessary ISO image & the COA to do a clean install. Thanks anyway for the information.

    Sincerely,
    brosmith

Yes... it is a waste when he only has 3.43 gb usable on the 32 bit system

Sometimes I just hate it when I "impulse buy" stuff....
That said, 3 of these will be here Friday for the above.

Oh, a couple of weeks ago I also got one of these which is bolted to the top of the rack:
