I take it that this is only 32 bit compatible. My Vmware Folders are in the "Program Files (x86)" Folder.
oops ... I'm so used to working with 32bit only ...so covered 3xlocations for 32 bit ... will work on adding 64bit file locations and re-upload. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
can any of you guys running 64bit confirm normal location for vmware-vmx.exe is it?:- C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\x64 (vmware-vmx.exe located inside the "x64" folder) and/or any other file location for 64bit. thanks
LOL, no problem We 64 bit users are always over looked... I have 32 bit OSes as well, but I don't use VMware in them.
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\x64 Contains vmware-vmx.exe. It's the only place the file is located.. And this is for the Full Vmware Workstation.
@highspeedmac .... thanks for the confirmation, I'll add that file location to the installer and re-up asap ...I'll edit 1st post when it's done. I made it check 3 x locations for 32 bit cause older versions vm file located inside "bin" folder ... but newer versions of vm seem to locate that exe in the main folder ...(no bin folder) ..... and VM Lite edition from wincert.net installs in different folder. Hopefully, when I add the 64 bit location, all the common locations will be covered. @dareckibmw ..... I know you like Toshiba
OK, it can now find and patch the exe. So that part is working good.. But...I get this error under XpSp2 x64, I will have to check later weather I get the same error under Vista x64 & 7 x64

@highspeedmac & cwag17.. Difficult for me to check 64bit (running 32bit) ... but couple questions. 1. VMWare "turned off" before patching? 2. When you select and enter ... do you get message saying "bla,bla....turned on"? 3. If you select 00 (Default) .... returning to default ... do you get success and error gone? @pantagruel.. yeah select 1-50 is SLP1 for xp testing and select A1-A10 is Slic 2.1 for Win7 testing
Below I attached a Log of all the file activity your patch creates and does on a Windows Xp Sp2 x64 system. Maybe it can be of some help to you.. Be warned lol it's long, but I happen to noticed that at some points there are file not found errors. Edit: if you use Sysinternals File Monitor, you can open the below Log file in it, so you can get a much neater organized view of it..
I was just about to post a similar statement for searchengine... After running the patch I manually changed the ownership back, The result was the exe had not been patched, the VM had no slic . Even though your patch says it did it, it didn't... In the log I uploaded I believe you can see the error when ResHacker is called.. It also looks as if, your patcher is looking for files that are not being move or copied to the locations the patcher expects them to be in.. So, it looks as if I want you use this, I'll have to use this on 32 bit systems for now.. You've got a little work ahead of you, to get this working with 64 bit Windows & VMware... Still a cool tool and Idea...
