Is Kaspersky still good like in the old days? I am using Comodo for years now...

I would say so. It has its moments but does a fairly decent job most of the time. Keeps the bad stuff out ;)

I removed Kaspersky Internet Security from my win10 x64 few months ago.

The trial license expired in this meantime.

Today I installed Kaspersky again, it says trial ended and does not allow me to disable "self-defense" (the control is gray, as almost all other controls).
Exited Kaspersky and run the trial reset 5.1.0.29, but it request to disable self-defense.
Uninstalled Kaspersky and run trial reset again, but it says Kaspersky not installed.

Any hint about how to by-pass this problem?

(Sorry if the question is unappropriated here. In this case tell me where is ok to ask)

maybe, but the most important is what kind of values you are defending when you go in bed with someone

@shewolf: I was just thinking about replying, but I didn't want to cross the Commerce vs. Political line.

Me thinks that the water is very clouded with regards to the US / Russian political relationship. With the current political hooplah about Trump,
and the implication that the Russians manipulated our election, It's probably in the best interests of the MIC to stay clear of any Russian products right now.

If something happens with that, the MIC doesn't get caught with its' pants down, so to speak.

When two corporate entities decide to do business, (Yes, contrary to popular belief, the US Government is like a business in that regard.)
Their 'values' are about profit, and getting the best deal for the money. The question is really one of what values have you compromised (or agreed to compromise)
to get 'into bed' with this 'Entity'?

And whether or not you're allright with the path that the other 'entity' is on.

Maybe it's just too good at spotting CIA exploits... :dunno:

Will this affect the average user? Most likely not at all.

    Good post, btw.
