How to Modify Your Own Bios Using AMI Mod Tool and Award Mod Tool

    I try to modify the bios of PC Acer aspire x1700 pc to convert SLIC 2.0 to 2.1
    These are the steps I've followed so far:

    - Download the latest bios of the Acer page (BIOS_Acer_R01-B3_.zip)
    - Download the Ami Slic Mod v1.63

    Because the program does not refer to Acer (only ASUS, DELL, HP, LENOVO, MSI):


    - I got the slic file: Acer [ACRSYS-ACRPRDCT-ANNI] 2.1.BIN, and I renamed ACER.BIN
    - I modified a text file with notepad to create the slp file, named ACER, and inside I wrote “AcerSystem”

    I run Ami Slic apparently successfully, but now appears in the BIOS folder new files:

    - 1B.BIN
    - 1B_SLIC.BIN
    - F0.BIN
    - PWC_SLIC.ROM

    add to the existing:

    - Folder V4.34 (with files AFUWIN.EXE, Ucoredll.dll, UCORESYS.SYS, UCOREVXC.VXC, UCOREW64.SYS)
    - afu.bat
    - AFUDOS.EXE
    - PWC10.ROM
    - readme.txt

    Should I delete something? What steps do I need to follow?

    All the links on the OP to the Bios Editors are no longer valid. Any updated links?     Hello.

    I have an X58 motherboard and I used SSV3 and "acpitbl at end" to make it work.

    I'm just wondering there are other options I need to enable or perhaps the default settings (except for "acpitbl at end") is enough?

    Everything seems to be a bit dated.
    Is this tutorial still effective to modify an ASUS Prime Z370-A AMI EFI 1002 BIOS for use with Win7?

    I used Universal BIOS backup tool to make Panasonic CF-30 BIOS dump... /AmericanMegatrendsInc.-V3.00L20.rom/
    I wonder which BIOS editor can be used to modify this rom file?

    I hav toshiba laptop with insyde H20 rev 3.7 .

    There is no secure boot option in it. No option to choose between uefi or legacy..why itz so? does anyone know how to mod add those features to my bios. Plz help.

    I hav only basic knowledge about bios. Bt am sure there's no uefi and secure boot options in it
