Andriod IS Linux so arguably it is just another Linux distro, though be it a very popular one. Having it on the desktop though could make it a game changer. People since the dawn of computing have always wanted a universal interface. Windows falls short of that and Apple could have been it, but is locked into the hardware. Andriod though could bridge the gap once and for all across all devices.
i test the os is a fantastique os and apk works i test Final Fantasy dimension whatsapp skype it works !! jus the mouse accuracy is not always good in games is impossible to root and for the moment install google play
On my laptop android freezes randomly, no matter if i use this one or the marshmallow from android_x86
I know that Android is linux. I don't want a universal interface, simply because the devices are not universal. I need one GUI for TV, another for tablet, another for phone and another one for laptop/PC. P.S. Plums are food, milk is food, but this doesn't mean they go well together, do they? P.S2: I just realized my 40" smartTV is performing at its best when off, I don't have a smartphone nor tablet. I have a couple of PCs and laptops.
The universal interface on all devices is a great idea for older people, they have had to get used to smart phones and to a lesser degree tablets. Android on the PC will now help to open up real computers to them. From an Android PC or Remix box pensioners with the inclination may choose to branch out to other operating systems and help to keep this platform alive. At £50 the Remix box is by far the cheapest device on the market that will provide a basic PC experience, I hope it catches on. Both the arguments above are spot on, for some.
So, RemixOS is aimed at older people? How about the tech people? What should they do? Look at a pretty screen?
I don't know what you consider as tech people. Since Android is very customizable a lot of modifications have been made over on XDA forums and 'ordinary' people started to get involved with tech aspects. To people like me Android had been a reason to become more familiar with Linux based 'tech' details. Also the huge play store gives people the opportunity to program apps at home and make money... The anti tech people are rather with a windows/common preistalled PC at home....or @ Apple where anything is determined and restricted.

Even expensive Samsung droids are only kept updated for around 2 years Want a droid device to stay up to date, either buy a new one every 2 years, or buy a Google device like the Nexus 7 2013 - still getting updates today, MM 6.0.1 Or buy a popular device, that XDA makes custom ROMs for
