@Antilope: Good question. I have a touch screen PC, but I won't try to install it until a retail distro is available. And someone over here tinkers with it. @wmh: Did you ever find out if there was a virus in that torrent? Please let us know.
Not yet. But I'd like to support competing desktop OS'es. Android is Linux based....but I'd say a crippled Linux with java support plus more and more proprietary stuff (e.g. Samsung's touchwiz, or KNOX, or signed partitions, or binaries... drivers/closed source, or.....)....questionable...but a competitor.
I didn't download it. I reposted the info here on another forum, brazilian one, and a friend from there got that message. I don't know if it is real or false positive.
Is there a way to install it on a hard drive ? so far i dont see any options at booting the live dvd/usb
I have done that @Michaela Joy, i ment how can i install it on the same drive where windows is installed. Because the OS will only boot from usb right now. The problem is when i use the second option it will write the changes you made, but the usb sticks i have are very very slow.
DOH! Its Tuesday 12th and I headed off to download, then realized I'm in Australia and that means its still the 11th for the rest of the world ... I'll have to wait until tomorrow
UK. That would be 8 hours ahead, or was it 12? Also I think the idea was if you dug a hole through the earth from Australia, you'd end up in the UK ...
The provided USB Tool failed to produce a bootable flash drive, Rufus worked. I got as far as the Guest Mode/Resident Mode screen and then I had the same result as Mr Magic, I tried several times on two machines with the same outcome. I didn't use the recommended USB3 flash drive as I don't have one, neither of my machines has on-board USB3 ports. I have a USB3 card in my main machine but my mobo wont boot from it. If USB3 is essential this OS wont be much use on many machines. I would have thought that the USB3 stipulation is just to squeeze as much speed as possible out of the flash drive and should not be an issue when booting into Android.
Why are the google services not included? There is not even a playstore installed The leaked one did have those
