    Lightbulb IE6/IE7 not working anymore?

I installed Windows XP Professional once again in Virtual PC 2007. When I open Internet Explorer, only a couple of sites are working, for example: Google isn't working. I set Shared Networking (NAT) adapter in Networking in Settings. I tried IE6 and IE7. Also tried IE8 and all sites are working.

Is it a reason that a lot of sites aren't supporting old versions of Internet Explorer or not? Because IE5 is working normally on Windows 98 virtual machine. How to solve this problem? Thanks.

I don't know, but I thought maybe to give one more chance for IE6 (IE7 also have problems on Windows XP in my case), because IE5 is working normally on Windows 98 even now in 2017.

It's the reason why I use another browser with xp even with IE8 some contents of html pages are not viewable (visible).

I gave up on IE as well because I got absolutely sick and tired of "this page is unsecure, blocked etc.etc.etc. blah blah blah Google is also not supported so you get the nag about that. I haven't tried Opera yet(seems to me I tried it on Win2000 on a P3 and it worked. 2000 is even more difficult for unsupported) but there are some that still work that we still have to locate. As for XP? I still cling to it because simply put, look at the minimum system requirements compared to Vista and Win 7 Vista was most certainly a resource hog and Windoze 7 is a sweeter tasting Lemon or should I say lipstick on a pig (Vista being the Pig or hog). I get sick and tired of the rotating blue circles and yet I have an Athlon 4800+x2 and 4 gb of ram. Windows 10 performs as fast on my outdated Socket 939 with VGA video but is glitchy due to outdated hardware/driver support. Sorry a bit off topic but this is justification of staying with XP. I will throw XP Pro 64 back in my box and see what I can find that works and post.

If IE8 is working, you don't want anything older. Till 7 months ago, I was using XP Pro and IE8 was working, though I didn't like its restrictive security behavior. Firefox was slow. So my main browser was the old Opera Presto, version 12.18 if I remember correctly. It was fast and secure.
