    I have the same dell inspiron N5010 with same bios revision.But the bios is AMI not insyde.It has hidden slic and you have to use the dell bios reset tool.I was able to make the slic 2.1 appear and able to auto activate using original dell win 7 home premium dvd from my old dell inspiron 1545.

    Compaq CQ41 unlock dormant switchable graphics bios mod request

    Hi,

    Could someone mod the bios to enable the switchable graphics component as per schematic? Seems HP use the SystemboardID and maybe the output of 'CIOMngr 45 09' which returns 5/6 for dedicated graphics or 0/1 for integrated graphics boards. CIOMngr is included with the flash package below. Unfortunately HP DMIFIT does not allow the changing of the systemboardID. Can see different code branches based on systemboard ID in the snippet below:

    Code:
    ndisam -a -b 16 4FA68826-0CA1-4D05-A4F0-EE9C1EA42F06_2_695.ROM > out.dis

    000006F6 B80A14 mov ax,0x140a    :: 0x140a = HP DV4 (HD4550)
    0000071A B81414 mov ax,0x1414    :: 0x1414 = Compaq CQ41 (HD4530)
    000007F9 B80914 mov ax,0x1409    :: 0x1409 = HP DV4 (HD4550 + Intel HD)
    The DSDT table also does different stuff based on a check of a 0x1409 or 0x140A systemboard ID. The VID/DID for a HD4550 and HD4530 are the same being 1002:4555. HP just change the subvendorID to differentiate. The Insyde BIOS just loads either a 450Mhz (HD4530) or 550Mhz (HD4550) vbios file based on it's checks. I've substituted the modules in the Insyde BIOS file using PhoenixTool and get my 550Mhz operation.

    -Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : Compaq CQ41
    -Bios Revision : F.0C
    -Bios Type : Insyde
    -Bios Link : ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48237.exe
    -Decompressed bios link: http://www.mediafire.com/?yrtf9c4wptf0p4m (PhoenixTool DUMP)
