    Thanks for the help! I do appreciate it. The manual method doesn't seem to work. I cannot locate the hex string 0x08A20 in the dll. How do I edit the DMI? I also tried VBox XPMode x86 patch.exe, but that returned an error. Is there a patched x86 VBoxDD2.dll I can get?

    And here is the solution:

    => slp area begins at 0x11AAA
    following bytes are all filled 0x00 (no way in hexpatcher so far);
    to insert slp patch, i began some few bytes after (0x11AB0),
    length 51 bytes, and the well known hex sequence:

    suites for both 32- and 64bit windows dll so far.

    Thanks for the help! I don't know how to use a hex editor, but I tried to edit per the "fix" and Windows still asks to be activated. Not much of a fix... back to VMware.

    Patch file for XPMode Vbox 4.2.6-82870 VBoxDD2.dll 32bit - just point it to your VBoxDD2.dll

    If someone can upload or send me a 64bit version of the VboxDD2.dll file i`ll upload a 64bit patch to test as well as a pre-patched vboxDD2.dll x64.

    Hi Amiga, thanks for the patch, much appreciated!

    As with the last time you uploaded an x64 patch, it didn't work for me as the tick box for "patch this file" never became active (along with the "start" button), no matter where the file was located or whether the patch was run as admin or not (under Win 7 x64)?

    The pre-patched VBoxDD2.dll you uploaded works fine for me though, so thanks again for that .

    Has anyone tried the pcbios.bin patch with XP Mode? I read on some person's post about inserting the BIOS file from VMLite to activate XP Mode the same way as SLIC activation. I can't post the link to the BIOS file since I do not have a high enough post count. But, here is the command to be entered from a command prompt:

    Code:
    VBoxMange.exe setextradata vm-uuid VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/BiosRom "c:\vm\pcbios.bin"
    What would be some drawbacks to using this method?
