Wow, with all the new info flooding out I wonder why MS is waiting until Build to release the preview. Almost seems like they would be better off to release it now and then talk about feedback at BUILD.
Good point, I'm not sure if MS wants feedback sometimes. With 7 we had leaks every other day, lots of posting on the 'net. With 8 there has been a noticeably different approach. IMO, the release of 8 has been handled very poorly by MS, this goes for the Surface tablets too. I wonder if many of the people po'd at 8 are really po'd at the lack of leaks and chances to play with the OS.
Well I can only speak for myself here but I will say I really lost interest in Windows due to the lack of leaks and chances to play with the OS during the beta. Now with 8.1 I find myself getting bored after 2 weeks on a build. And since it's been a month since 9385 leaked I'm REALLY bored with it. Almost to the point of not caring when the preview comes out. Will I install it? Sure, but I doubt I'll be racing to the download and battling for bandwidth while servers are crashing under the load etc...
you can't do that natively on 8, either you have to use 3rd party software or trick to open Explorer.exe
My point exactly. Like you, I will not break any speed limits to get 8.1. I'm happy with 8 and could live the rest of my life with it.
you are saying this now because you are bored without any new leaks, once 8.1 (final or preview) is available then you couldn't resist to try it out anyway MS we request you to leak 9415 or newer build and make sure its x64, yea if x86 comes with it no problem because many people (including me) are really bored seeing a month old leak
Has anyone seen mention on Ad-Hoc networking reintroduced into Windows 8.1? That was one feature that killed me when they took that out of Windows 8.
