will this work withserver 2008 as well?
---Important---
Remove Vistalo*der before completely (if tried before). It may prevent the installation of WoW!!!
To remove it use voatktools :http://rapidshare.com/files/50368049...alone.zip.html
Hi,
WoW6 is a patch which uses grub to introduce a HP-MPC SLIC or patches a already present, but unusable one. It doesn't emulate a SLIC. Vista detects it just like it's from bios.
It's a cooperation of flagmax (coder), petar (tester), offon7544 and me.

This version in not completely invisible
Pre-edition of WoW7 based on WoW6.0.1, introduces or patches an existing SLIC to SLIC2.1
To try if you already are a bit familiar with WoW5/6
De-install previous WoW versions before.
Please post Rw-everything report after you've applied it. Please note there is no SLP2.1 serial available to activate W7 now. Just try for W7 or Vista and have a look if it works (check rw-everything report for SLIC 2.1) Thanks. I'm too busy to try by myself at the moment.

WoW7.0.1_NOMBR_HP.exe ------------Fixed issue: May take long time Starting Cmain().... (wow7)

Improved edition of acerola:
- Changed grldr and grub.exe to version 0.4.4. This solved the problem of computer freezing when I did a hot boot.
- Cleaned up the root dir. Now it only has grldr and menu.lst.
- Changed and created some .bat files to automate the install and activation procedure:
install_wow.bat
uninstall_wow.bat
install_cert.bat
install_key.bat
check_activation.bat
You must extract it to your boot partition, it's the partition where the hidden file bootmgr is located. If you are not sure where it is, search for it BEFORE. You must enable show hidden systemfiles to find it!!!! If you have the "system reserved" partition, assign it letter R:
Scripts are configured to look into drives C: D: E: and R:

If you like to test WoW6 before just make a floppy or create a DOS boot CD of it. Change your boot priority to CD / floppy first. It'll execute WoW and boots to Vista(bootlo*der), after that get the HP certificate and apply the slgmr commands from below.
You can also use it as a recovery boot CD / floppy if you can't boot anymore after you've applied the NOMBR version. Just run the uninstall.bat after you've booted with it.
Uninstall the previous version using its uninstall.bat and reboot before. Run it as admin or disable UAC!!!
Disable UAC (google for it, if you don't know how to proceed.)
Boot to Vista.
Important: Locate the file bootmgr. It's a hidden systemfile. Get WoW6_NOMBR.exe, double chlick it and choose the drive letter where bootmgr is located at root. Install wow always to the root by double clicking on the exe. (C:\ or D:\, not into a folder!) If you are using Vista OS only you just have to install it there. (C:\)
After the installation of WoW, activate Vista:
You may copy and paste these commands to your cmd window!
- Right-Click on Command Prompt (found at accessories folder) and select 'Run as Administrator'.
- Type slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\HPQOEMSLIC-MPC.XRM-MS and press enter. Wait for the dialog box indicating the license file was installed successfully.
- Type slmgr.vbs -ipk 6F2D7-2PCG6-YQQTB-FWK9V-932CC and press enter.
Wait for the dialog box indicating the key was installed successfully.
- Reboot
(Exchange this key before with other HP royalty key if you don't have Ultimate installed). The cert. is located at the partition to where you've installed WoW.
Any comments are welcome. If there are any errors, please reply with detailed report.
If you can't activate, please reply with a AcpiScope report.

I think so. Please try floppy or CD first. After that apply HP cert. and the server key (it is of course different to the Ultimate key) found there:

Congrats, you guys! Seems like you now can give yourself a pat on the shoulder
Thread sticky on request by Yen.
where you are mostly depends on where you want to be - maybe you're already there but still don't know it!
I would like to ask people that are trying WOW5 to post back some feedback.
Hi everyone.
Im new here, last week I ordered HP 6735s notebook. After one day of discussions with reseller / distributer / MS I was hoping they will let me know if/how can I install Vista 64 bcs they only ship with 32bit. They pissed me off totally, nobody knew exactly, MS send me to dealer, dealer said I should talk to distributer, they sent me back to MS... so I said phuck off, Im not paying for Vista and I went 4 FreeDos.
Then I found lots of claims that HP notebooks have "BIOS protection against non-genuine Vista"??? I did some research and found your forum.
Anyway, to make long story short: my HP was delivered today, I installed Vista Ultimate 64 (MSDN release), used WoW 5 MBR version and it works like a charm
you guys rock!
I just tried the nombr wow5 out on my iMac.
Works perfectly on VMWare Fusion but has a major issue with BootCamp. It just hangs at:
"probed C/H/S = 80/2/18, probed total sectors = 2880"
I suspect that it's got something to do with the IMG menu.lst.
Hopefully someone can help me out with this problem.
*note: i couldn't get the mbr one to work because grldr was too big to insert into my mbr.
What exactly is your boot config? Boot camp boots either Vista or OS X, no other OS?
I think you have to plan a boot chain without boot camp.
My suggestion: Use original Vistabootloader instead of boot camp and make an entry to boot Mac OS X using easybcd...make sure OS X partition is set active
(at Vista right-click on My Computer > Manage. Go to the Disk Management area, and be sure that the OSX partition is set as active on the harddrive )
Are you familiar with using bootloader? I've never tried MAC OS so far.
Another way could be to use grub to boot either to Vista or to OS X
title OSx86 at (hd0,0)
root (hd0,0)
makeactive
chainloader --force +1
