Thanks but no success yet. Oh well...

I figured my sister's HP media center rig needed an OEM disk so I first tried Medic's DVD but my sister's key failed. Is it possible that Medic's DVD is retail rather than OEM?

Next I tried crypto's 2 CDs realizing that they were retail and expecting the failure that was repeated.

I would greatly appreciate either untouched OEM installation disks or some other solution if anyone knows of one.

Which key?? The OEM keys are in the stickies, if you are using the COA, you are using a junk key..

Hi, I have a Medion Laptop, if I install XP MCE and use the OEM SLP Medion Key from the post above, will Windows activate?

Thank You.

I had trouble activating (using Dell oem files and serial) and it wouldn't pre-activate, I used the antiwga patch finally, please correct me if I am wrong in my assumptions here, It appears to uninstall wga, then my system was finally activated. I reinstalled wga (with Dell activation files still in place)and it now stays activated!!!????
I had trouble with the MCE dvd accepting serials as well, I used the original reinstallation disk from Dell

I guess I should list some of my assumptions
1. WGA, if pre-installed prevents automatic slp activation (it must have occurred before wga first checks)
2. anti-wga patch just un-installs wga, doesn't mod anytrhing else...

It DOES NOT alter any files. All it does is put a reg entry in and add a antiwpa.dll..It basically tricks the check into thinking it is trial...

Nothing is uninstalled, only a .dll added and registered, to redirect the checks. You can add any wpa check you want and it never goes any further than the .dll call. You can unregister the antiwpa.dll and the countdown will continue.

FYI, I have had a test machine with the AWPA on it for 3 years and it has been updated automatically and never deactivated..It is the safest non-oem activation you can get..certainly of the "aftermarket" or "third party" variety...

If you start messing with installing and uninstalling, you will mess stuff up..

Just take a look at the batch script..

Another thing is the DELL files must be of a certain type, and the dell SLP is a difficult one to place sometimes..The problems you are speaking of sound like a setupp.ini that is wrong and oembios files not right.
