Difference between Windows 7 N and N-1

Hi,
What is the difference between windows 7 N and N-1 versions? Is there any difference or both are same?

N versions were released as RTM on July 14. Interenet explorer 8.0 is not in them, as well as Media player and Media center.

N-1 versions were released on Ocober 22 , and now include Internet Explorer 8 as standard. MP and MC are still absents.

I have read through the thread and the conclusion seems to be that the original N versions from 14 July (without WMP or IE8) can be downloaded from ex-ua & that there is a SHA-1 value given on the download page so that you can check whether your file was corrupted during download.

However, there does not to be any independent source of SHA-1 values for these versions of Windows 7 & so there way of checking whether the files are genuine & untouched or whether they have been modified in some way. That's a shame

If you follow this link - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subs...s/default.aspx you can see the MSDN win 7 downloads and the details button will give you the hash values. You need a windows live ID, easy to create.
Of course you can't download the Iso images without a paid for MSDN account.

Thank you both for trying to help me, but the problem is that that the SHA-1 values on msdn are not the values for the July 14 version of Windows N (without WMP and IE8). They are the values for the new version of Windows N from October 22 (N-1 which has WMP removed but still contains IE8). It was the SHA-1 values for the original July 14 version that I was hoping to find.

Sorry I understand what you want now. Unfortunately I don't have these values. I have the values for the 'E' version because I thought that was the version I was going to have to use (being in Europe). I suspect the values in the first link I gave you are correct but I have no proof.
