Hey guys- I have a Toshiba L25-s1216 laptop and it insists on the ram memory bus running 400 MHz, even though the chipset and ram support 533.

Can anybody either tell me where to get a modded bios that allows me to adjust memory speed/timings or guide me in how to do it myself?

I apologize if this question should be placed somewhere else or isn't appropriate-there are obviously a lot of people here with a lot of knowledge about bios editing and modding so I thought maybe somebody could help out with my problem.

What bios is it? Phoenix? You can try to edit it with Phoenix Bios Editor.
I never tried it before.

You're not too wrong about the section - even I'm not exactly sure where to put it. So never mind...

You could have also put it in here:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=814&page=13 if there won't be any answers in the next few days. But usually this isn't a problem here.

EDIT
You see, Yen took already care of that ;)

It is a Phoenix Bios, but in looking through the bios there doesn't seem to be any memory adjustment options at all.

I could change some things if I wanted too, but basically the available things in the editor are the options that are already available in the existing bios.

Does that mean that the good parts that I would need are compressed or otherwise not available to me?

In a weird turn of events, I think the best way to do what I want with my memory is going to be :gasp: software overclocking:eek:

@woodburn1118
What's the matter now? :rolleyes: superkdogg created this Thread, and my reply was to him, not anyone else. Maybe you posted in the wrong thread?

@bubbl3
Imagine we could mod brains via internet. Strange thing...

Yeah, I think you must have posted in the wrong thread or misunderstood something.

So, back to my issue. I'm (obviously) new to attempting bios edits. If the options don't show up in a bios editor, does that mean that they're compressed or otherwise impossible to edit. I know they're not literally impossible, but since I'm a bios n00b with only one laptop that I don't want to brick, do you guys think I should give up now?
