The Dell version (http://slics.myftp.org/Gigabyte/Gigabyte_motherboard_bios_ga-p35-ds3_f14c_GB_SLIC_DELL_SLP.rar) that 911medic made is better since it's SLP 2.1 and will be able to activate Windows 7. (There isn't a SLP 2.1 SLIC For Gigabyte yet.) We could add more SLP names to it.
So activation aside, is there any way I can unlock the capabilities of the BIOS as half the content is locked out and no access to advanced chipset features and so on
I took a look at the bios with AMIBCP 3.37 (http://www.lejabeach.com/sisubb/AMIBCP3.37.rar) and there weren't any hidden options to unlock.
For Ilgauskas:

SLIC 2.1: Dell

Method: AMI Tool, dynamic
For Ilgauskas:
-Motherboard : MSI K9N Platinum, K9N SLI Platinum (MS-7250)
-Bios Revision : 1.A
-Bios Type : AMI
SLP: Asus,Dell
SLP 2.1: Dell

Note: MSI-AMI usually needs SSV2 but SSV3 worked previously with this bios.
If you guys have time left I would be pleased if someone could modify Version F4V (http://america.giga-byte.com/FileList/BIOS/motherboard_bios_ga-ma790gp-ds4h_f4v.exe) for me. :D

On Windows 7 forum it refers me here for SLIC 2.1 BIOS mods.
As of June 16 according to above there are 3 so far: Dell, Lenovo and MSI.
To get ready for Win 7 RTM (hopefully keys, certs etc will follow quickly)
will you mod follwing BIOS for SLIC 2.1 Dell and SLP 'Hewlett-Packard'
I can then at least check backwards compatibility with Vista.

Hi guys.
It seems a verly long time passed since my last reply on this amazing thread. Maybe some of you doesn't know me at all, but I'd like to say to everyone on this forum that I'm ok. I've passed in my recent life bad moments, problems and so on, now they seem to be fixed.
Regarding private messages I had my inbox folder full of too much old messages so I decided to don't reply at all and I'm sorry about this.
For bios mod requests, I can see a lot of experienced users are always on this thread and using modding tools will do the rest, so I think my help will be useless for most users, but I will be here giving my effort if it will be needed.
In the meantime, best wishes to everyone and enjoy yourself here.

Thanks my dear friend.
Maybe you should wrote "I was a bit of legend" and even in this way or writing, I don't know if I really was or am a bit of legend or not, only time will tell it. In the past, many modders liked to "manual" modify bios experiencing new modding methods. Now with more sofisticated and automatic techniques, like the andyp's tools or something similar, anyone could make his own modded bios with poor percentage of risk.
As far as I know AMI Bioses are a kind of joke so far, while Award bios sometimes require manual modding. In the past I remember I like to use manual superstatic method (aka SSV2 and SSV3), sometimes I used ISA or OEM7 method, while on Asus bioses (already having SLIC calls indise them) you could even add BBMarker and BBPubkey (easiest way).
Now SLP has been upgraded to 2.1 but I think SLIC method will be the same (being slic tables of the same lenght of the old one). Anyway I'd like to upgrade my knowledges but I don't know what else changed since my last visit (2008). :D

Thanks for your help, and zort for the last bios made for this notebook it work very well (only now i have the right usb pen that the notebook accept to update bios in dos mode).
Continue the great work.
If you still want to check it out, do this:
1- Download, install and run RW Everything (http://jacky5488.myweb.hinet.net/download.html)
2- Click on the ACPI button or go to "Access" > "ACPI Tables"
3- Click on the "SLIC" tab
4- Locate offset E2
If the next 4 bytes are: 00000000 then you have 2.0 SLIC.
If the next 4 bytes are: 01000200 then you have 2.1 SLIC.
I did check in RW 1.3 and in the two slics give info (00000000 then you have 2.0 SLIC), but have give a good flash and work normal.

For SLP 2.1 you have to choose one of these SLIC's: Dell, Lenovo, MSI, Fujitsu, Toshiba
Or we can do Gigabyte SLP 2.0 if you prefer that.

I successfully mod M2A-VM HDMI by using bbpubkey and bbmarker. However, I failed to use new awardtool105 tools to import SLIC 2.1 Dell_qa9.bin into bios file for coming Windows 7. Tools said sccuess imported. I flash my board bios and use everestultimate to read ACPI. The information still old. I guess marker is unable to be updated. Any idea on this issue?

My guess is it is getting the ASUS_Notebook oemid's from the ACPITBL rather than the marker. If RSDT & XSDT in ACPITBL was edited with new oem names then maybe it would show up right in Everest. For now I'd recommend trying 0+2 or SSV3 mod instead.
Note: To remove the old pubkey/marker you may need to flash the original bios in dos with awdflash with /f switch:
awdflash bios.bin /f

Can anyone post the bios for Asus A8V-E SE for Vista?
The link no longer works that was on the previous forum and from here http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/02/21/sla-20-supported-bioses-for-instant-windows-vista-oem-activation/
The original non modified bios is located here ver 1010
http://support.asus.com/download/download_item.aspx?product=1&model=A8V-E%20SE
It uses Award based bios if someone has to re-do it or is the mobo too old to add SLP 2.0?
SLICE = ASUS
Somewhat oot, is SLP 2.0 still working since SLP 2.1 is out or is SLP 2.1 for Win 7?
I need that bios for a temporary PC for my roommate until he has enough to buy a new PC since it was on it's last leg (AGP based). The A8V-E SE is my old computer that had Linux server on it but he's a Window person since he uses for games and it's a waste to buy a system builder OEM on that old PC that can't be transfer to a new one once he builds it (with my help) or prebuilt.

Possibly but this code in the main module (this is the ACPI construction code that I disassembled for the dynamic method) suggests that when there is a pubkey/marker the OEM/table ID is copied:
seg000:62C4 cmp eax, 43494C53h ; SLIC
seg000:62CA jnz short loc_62D3
seg000:62CC test byte ptr [bp+4CDh], 1

seg000:62D3 test byte ptr [bp+4CDh], 1
seg000:62D8 jnz short loc_62DD ; -
seg000:62DA call sub_6335 ; Move 14 bytes from 6F00:C (in SLIC marker) to ES:SI+0Ah - ? OEM/Table ID
seg000:62DD
seg000:62DD loc_62DD: ; CODE XREF: sub_6299+3Fj
seg000:62DD cmp eax, 5246534Fh ; OSFR
seg000:62E3 jnz short loc_62EF
seg000:62E5 test byte ptr [bp+4CDh], 2
seg000:62EA jnz short loc_6322 ; Loop
seg000:62EC call sub_6351
However, it wouldn't be too hard to patch the RSDT/XSDT table(s) to test!!

It's a simple thing to replace the other MSI SLIC with the updated one, but I don't know if any bios checksums will need to be corrected afterward, so I'd rather let Andy look at it-- he's the expert on that!

It can be done but it's riskier to mod Phoenix. You can post the request here:

It's up to you whether to flash from DOS or Windows. DOS is safer so that would be my choice.

Zort and I have had a look at this. There does seem to be an embedded 512K AMI core 8 BIOS in the file (looking at the .BIO one). I have done an SSV2 mod and reinserted it.
http://slics4.myftp.org/P25-0077.rar
THIS MUST BE CONSIDERED RISKY. I have never seen an Intel AMI BIOS before and therefore we have no idea how it will respond to modding. Worst case would be a completely dead board.
It may be there are other checks and the bios doesn't even flash in the first place.
Some Intel recovery info here - http://communities.intel.com/thread/4423;jsessionid=AD9B711889EB7DDF1BB2F544173C954C. Also try naming the file AMIBOOT.BIO.

Can someone take a look at this foxconn mother board bios file that was modded with a dell tag? This was created 1 year ago and I have had alot of booting issues with it. If I use the unmodded bios it will boot without issues.

Thank you very much. Bios I tested and is fully functional
Thanks for feedback!
Let us know how it goes :D

First, a million thanks for both andyp & China4Ever brothers help.
Sad to report that both of your bios are not working. I tried "Intel Window based bios update tool" to flash bios, & got those messages after the system restarted:
"The express bios update was unsuccessful. Your systems bios has not been updated."
Since there is no DOS based bios flash utilities for Intel boards such as "afudos" or "Q-Flash", so I have no idea if those bios will working if I flash them under the DOS or not, but again, thanks a lot for your help. :)

Hi, all!
To whoever might help me:
I own an Acer Aspire 1694LMi laptop.
Last October, after replacing the damaged original 100GB Hitachi HDD, I bought a 160GB Hitachi new one and installed Vista Ultimate x86 on it, which I activated with Vista Developer Activation.
A couple of weeks later, I replaced the 2 x 512MB Samsung RAM with 2 x 1GB Kingston RAM, for pure upgrading reason.
I always made all the updates, which were set to automatic in Windows Update... :(
I namely got the KB940510 update, which I can't get removed.
But everything went absolutely fine until last week.
Now, coming from nowhere, when the laptop boots (or reboots), Vista asks for activation after login, in a window where the "Activate later" option becomes available after 15 seconds.
I choose that one and make it to my desktop, where I get a black wallpaper and the "This copy of Windows is not genuine" message in the right down corner, with the "Build 6001" (Vista SP1) or something like that.
Plus, I get a "You might be a victim of counterfeit software" windows, telling me that Dreamscene is not working, and, every hour, a "Activate Windows now" pops up.
For the last 8 days, I tried everything to get my Vista SP1 re-activated. So I guess...
Yesterday, I managed to flash my Phoenix bios with the 3A45_SLIC modded one by Fzeven, after member pig1's request. Now it has a SLIC table, as you can see in the attached Everest report.
After this operation, I thought it would be easy to get it finally re-activated by installing the matching cert (which, by the way, came in the modded bios folder right here http://www.box.net/shared/fcosik6ww4) and an OEM SLP key like the Ultimate Acer or ASUS one.
I always run cmd with admin rights and type both commands as it has to be, getting each time the successful operation messages.
But... My Vista Ultimate SP1 x86 still isn't activated... Or re-activated...
Any ideas?
Help would be highly appreciated.

China4Ever.
Welcome back! Nice to hear from you again.:D

@heslo
Because using afudos /ibios.rom /pbnc /n (where bios.rom is an example filename) you will flash also bootblock area which contains SLIC (in other words 1B module will be totally rewritten) while flasing via windows (asus update) it's not sure you'll see SLIC.
Anyway flash it and report feedback. :)

Please, guys...
Don't ignore my desperate call for help...
I've been reading a lot, doing some research, trying several tips explained all over the internet.
At the end, I truely believe you are the right people to find the way.
Like I said, I flashed a bios found in this forum and I got slic, but no activation.
Re-installing Vista isn't quite an option for me, since I have lots of installed (and configured) software. Hard work... Settings, etc...
I would be very thankful.
P.S.: If this post is mislocated, please move it. I don't mind, as long as I get some attention. Thanks in advance.

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=5931
Still no luck, urie.
Yes, I originally used Vista Developer Activation. I already removed (so I guess... Is there any manual way to check?) all Vista cracks with Windows Vista Activation Tool Kit 1.6 (shouldn't I get a message window telling me the cracks - if found - were successfully removed? No message at all, nor in 2.1 version...) and tried several other tools for this purpose too.
Then, as you told me, I chose Acer in the OEM list and I pressed the "Activate" button (avast reported a trojan horse. I'm so desperate that I turned avast off and tried it anyway). I already had a "valid" ultimate key installed, but, just to be sure, installed another one.
Then I rebooted and... still no activation.
Still waiting for a miracle...

Have you tried to flash this bios and see if the Slic table is shown. It has a Slic in the F1 module...I have also found pubkey/marker in the second bios file that flashes, the 4m file.
Try to flash first, I have modded a the 1m file, I will upload it after you test the file or let me know it the slic shows in hw everything.:D
There are no additional overclocking options I can see...

I've searched the threads, and while there's bios' for for the EP45-UD3L, there's none for the EP45-UD3LR (additional raid support)
Manufacturer: Gigabyte
Motherboard: GA-EP45-UD3LR rev1.0
BIOS Type: AWARD
BIOS Revision: F5
BIOS Link: http://america.giga-byte.com/FileList/BIOS/motherboard_bios_ga-ep45-ud3lr_f5.exe
If somebody could assist me with this, it'd be appreciated.
