There is no BIOS 1611 for P6T Deluxe. The BIOS in the download link is actually 1303. The lablel is incorrect. BIOS 1504 is actually the latest.

hi have an HP Pavilion desktop m7581in with XP Media center edition pre installed oem.
I want to install Vista ultimate now on this PC> i hv downloaded HP Vista ultimate OEM disc (from some torrent which said it will only work on HP Desktop.)

Maybe a Pubkey/marker with the slic already in the ACPITBL..

I guess you have to flash from windows. If the bios will flash, it will allow for as close to factory SLIC as you can get.

I read all 15 pages of Slic tested and not tested and for the mb I have all mods are SLIC= ASUS. I need Dell Slp1 & SLP2 because this mb is going in a dell case for a computer I am working on for a friend. He has nothing bur Dell disc for XP and Vista. Thank You

I've just been given 2 Asus Z8NR-d12 boards to replace some that popped... Not what I requested but they look good.

I was just wondering if the bios on these can be modded (for SLP1.0 & SLP2.0)? -- they're pretty cheap but useful server board with good reviews - great for virt machines (12 banks of DDR3 RAM so 24GB is cheap to have ;) !) Here's the specs on it: http://asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=uubLblnIvItIDTV8&templete=3 I like the fact you can aid a choice of SAS RAID controllers (or not) - pay for what you want ehh.

Anyway, with the Intel® 5500 chipset IOH something tells me mod not possible? , but I hope no one minds me asking...

PS - the manual says "Use the AFUDOS utility version 2.38 to flash the BIOS" The board has a "Force BIOS recovery setting" that is jumper activated. "This jumper allows you to quickly update or recover the BIOS settings when it becomes corrupted" sounds perfect for having a go...:eek:?

The best way is to copy afudos.exe and WD133D61.50 from the original download as well as the modded bios WD133D61_SLIC.50 to a bootable usb flash drive (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,64963-order,4-page,1-c,peripherals/description.html). You might want to rename WD133D61_SLIC.50 to something shorter like newbios.rom.

Boot to the usb flash drive and at the dos prompt type:
afudos /inewbios.rom

Update: This worked even though it's SSV3 with MSI AMI BIOS. Maybe Andy's slic tool has overcome the problems that made it not work in the past. It's probably better to continue using SSV2 for them just to be safe though.

Download the original bios update. Delete the original file and then rename the file in the link i gave you to match the original that you deleted. Then use the installer

I have purchase this notebook MSI Megabook M670-073PT

When i try to use andy tool for AMIBIOS it says that the bios has a slic in dinamic mode. But in msi site there are 2 bios, one for vista32 and the other for xp32. Since andy tool say in the two that they have a slic in dinamic mode and stop giving no information. My problem is to know if it has slp and slic on the 2 bios posted by msi, because i need SLP and SLIC for this notebook.

Just did the whole; disconnect power cables fromt he board, pop the battery out and set jumpers to clear for 15 mins.

Sorry that happened to you ecktt. I double-checked everything and don't see any problem with the mod. I think it may have been a bad flash. The awdflash.exe is the one that Foxconn provided with the orginal bios. Since it powers off you won't be able to reflash it. Since clearing cmos didn't fix it you'll probably need to order a new bios chip. You can get one from biosman (http://www.biosman.com/) but it might be cheaper directly from Foxconn if they provide them. You could also rma the motherboard if you don't want to swap bios chips, but that takes longer, and it might be handy to have an extra bios chip as a backup anyway. (After booting with the replacement bios you can put the old one back in and reflash it with original bios.) Let us know when you're up and running again and we can decide what to do about the slic.

Just wanted to help everyone out. My housemate got a DFI LP-LT X38-T2R and so we tried out some SLIC-modded BIOSs on it with varying degrees of success.

It seems that all of the RapidShite links don't work anymore.

This one is Insyde bios and can't be modded (no tools). It could have Acer slic already. (Check for slic with Everest under motherboard-acpi.) If it isn't there you'll need to use a bootloader.

I always update bios by a boot cd with afudos or others with bios moded and not moded and it work very good, but now whem i use the boot cd and flash.bat to flash the original bios, the fan of the laptop goes in full speed and don´t do nothing. Is there a easy way of using a usb pen to do the same or am i doing something wrong. It´s the first time this append to me on flashing a bios update (i have flashed laptop video cards, motherboards bios, recorders firmware, ect...never have this problem).

Thanks for all the info and help, but this notebook do not allow booting from a usb pen. I have update bios the the last (70C WITH VISTA SLIC) from windows with afuwin. Bios update to 70C no problem, but the modded give a diference something and do not allow update procedure. Thanks Zort for your time and help, but windows vista only will do.

Hi

This one is more tricky. The normal code that is replaced is not present. I have had to use the MOV (1Ch) for the creator ID to put the SLIC address. It should be OK but consider it more risky.

Flash original, then slic'd from DOS, clear CMOS etc.

In general for Gigabyte, SSV3 is my first choice, and 0+2 second choice. ISA often doesn't work with newer Gigabyte bioses so I wouldn't start with it. (Also SSV2 isn't an option for Award.) This is just a special case bios.

Yes SIR...GB should be SSv3 first as possible. ISA is a definite no-no for any new gigabyte bios, and most any new bios in general. These guys have proven it to be the most consistent performer..It seems as though they are all becoming special case bios..:D:D

They changed a few things in Gigabyte M720-US3 from F3F to F3M. They took out the VGA rom and added 3 Group roms, and who knows what things they've fixed. If p4spooky's F3F ISA mod and 1234s282's F3M 0+2 mod don't work we can try something else for F3M.
