Thanks, Vista is activated ;)
Just a quick question... If I install XP instead would the steps be the same as with Vista after flashing, e.g. install certificate, etc. I couldn' find anything.

Hi ,
First, I am very appreciating for helping on bios mod. However, I want to make sure on the way to update the bios. I have to update the bios from the OS 32bit or I have to boot from the floppy and use AFUDOS with the following command A:>\ AFUDOS xxxx.ROM /p/b/n/c/x to update the bios.
Thanks
DOS is safer than Windows.
Here's a link to HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool which you can use to format a usb flash drive to make it bootable:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,64963-order,4-page,1-c,peripherals/description.html
I back part you trump card a isticam ugrasdim numbers did not roll Motherboard Name Clevo TN120R cipset intel crestline-gm GM965 bios Species Of The Phoenix bios updating how can i thank you already have
Interesting translation. If you're asking how to update the bios, make a bootable usb flash drive (see link above). Since you have Phoenix bios copy phlash16.exe and the bios file (example: ectn12r.04) to the flash drive. Restart the computer and boot to the flash drive. Type: phlash16 ectn12r.04
You can get the flash utility here: ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/TN12xR/EC_04.zip

Hi ,
First, I am very appreciating for helping on bios mod. The vista ultimate without the SP had been trying and it was activated. I don’t have the result for Vista+SP1 now; because of I am doing the SP update from MS now. I attached the screen shot for you to exam it. I think everything is OK. Thanks again.

Hi Guys,
Can anyone add an SLIC to the following bios for me?
=========================
Gateway eMachines MS-7202 OEM by MSI:
http://downloads.emachines.com/drivers/bios/MS-7207_BIOS_A7207NE7.exe
Many thanks!
=========================
And it is strange that the official bios from MSI's website for the same model of 7202 just does not work for my MB! The built-in VGA will not work after flashing the official one.
And atually I found something as below but the download URL seems to have expired. If anyone can share the file that had been downloaded, I will really appreciated.

You'll need to install the Gigabyte cert (.xrm-ms) which you can find here:

SLIC is integrated into BIOS. You need the certificate. In archive with modded BIOS I gave a Giga sertificate.
After flashing modded BIOS you should enter the following in command line:
slmgr -ilc GIGABYTE.xrm-ms

Enjoy and please feedback
I guess it's not only Vista related, but is the a way to let me choose every FSB on a certain CPU? (I'm using an Athlon XP-M now which has 133Mhz FSB by default and therefore the AK77-8x Max offers FSB being adjustable from 130-160 only.
If one uses an FSB166 CPU it will offer a range "placed" higher. I'd like to use FSB 166 for my XP-M too to increase memory throughput etc. (CPU has been tested to work with that with a lower multiplier somewhere else)

Yes exactly that, do you know what is a problem ?
I suspect that you'll have to install the compatibility jumpers on your hard drives. They force SATA 300 drives into 150 mode. You should look into this on your drive manufacturers web site. Some drives come with the jumpers, others don't. They are very small jumpers and you might have to get them from your nearest computer store, I would not recommend that you try to use motherboard jumpers as they are too big. Hope this helps.

You just have to set in bios to use the SATA ports as primary ports. If you have both ATA and SATA drives, you should have a menu for this also. Most 300 ports are backward compatible, and will run both 150 and 300 drives. With or without the jumpers. The fact that the bios recognized the pair before should be proof.
When you flashed the bios, all settings were reset. Just boot to the bios, then set the menu accordingly..i.e. boot order, boot drive, onboard stuff..

First bios is straightforward, latest beta from MSI.
There is a previous post for a SLIC'd K7N2 Delta2 ILSR, but there is no such animal. Only a K7N2 Delta-ILSR. The Delta-ILSR bios is different -it has support for a Promise RAID chipset, among other differences.
Second bios, B72, is a modified version of the OEM B62, from the MSI forum, and those egotistical snooty-ass fake personalities over there (some posters were helpful, most were sociopathic ego-freaks). Non-the-less, I found the B72c latest modified bios. The developer warns tools like cbrom do not work properly on it.

OK try these steps before jumping to the conclusion that you need a new chip. Your board has crash free bios and you shoulld be able to recover if you follow these simple steps:
1. Download 0604 Original bios from Asus
2A. Rename the file to M4A78EM.ROM and copy to USB stick (root folder)
2B. Rename the copy of the 0604 original bios to M4A78-EM.ROM and copy to USB stick (root folder)
2C. Insert the CD that came with the board in your CD drive
3. Power down, Clear CMOS
4. Insert USB stick to the back USB port
5. Start the machine
6. Should recover from one of these sources

I have check sum error from recently installing the update sp35891 on a model HP A1210N with dual-configuration. How would I go about installing the bios since I can't access or find the HP standard update utility on the web?
It looks like sp35891 (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3442832&swItem=ob-52610-1&prodNameId=3442833&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=2) is for certain notebooks, not the a1210n (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=1118241&) desktop. If your bios isn't version 3.15 already then download sp35096.exe (ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software9/COL21378/pv-56089-1/sp35096.exe) which is the 3.15 bios for your motherboard, and update to it, clear cmos, and load bios setup defaults to see if it fixes the checksum error. (If it already is 3.15 then just clear cmos and load defaults.) Your bios already has "Hewlett-Packard" string for XP but would need SLIC added for Vista. There is a modded version in All Slics thread:

Both are manual mods, one done by Zort and the other by me. Although the slics are the same, the following can affect the hash:
1. Location of SLIC
2. SLP codes added
3. Position of SLP codes in the main bios
Read Zort's SSV3 Guide (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=53170&postcount=459), open up the Bios in winhex and you should be able to see.

robi, maybe you can save your current bios with afudos, and then upload it.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/PUB/ASUS/mb/flash/Afudos238.zip
ex: afudos /obios.bin
Also if you run the Sony program to update the bios (even if you're already using that version) it may extract it to a temp directory which you could copy it from.

Thank you p4spooky :) So If your mod has dell asus & hp slp, there is then no substential differences between your two mods, i'm right?
Thank you

SLIC added: HP
http://slics.myftp.org/Foxconn_G31MV_ver_P07_SLP-ASUS-HP_SLIC-HP_ISA.rar
Method used: Tommy ISA
Note: There is some code after the last module that gets overwritten by the ISA. For that reason there may be increased risk. Probably that code is leftover and doesn't pertain to anything but have a backup plan just in case.

There should be no substantial differences. The one I posted has Dell,Asus,HP for SLP1 names. P4spooky's has Asus,Lenovo SLP1 names. Both have Asus SLIC. The one I posted is tested working by nalx1, and tony10103 didn't provide feedback for p4spooky's. You might start with mine since it's already tested, but p4spooky's is probably fine too.

OK, couldn't wait to get home from the office so I drove back on my lunch break and flashed the BIOS. So far so good, Flash was straight forward from my my bootable USB stick. I must say I'm impressed you've included so much detail in your reply to me, I really appreciate it. I'll let you know how the actual Vista install goes.
Don't know if you've noticed but M$ updated their WGA and "a friend" reported the other night that his version got flagged as non-legal. Just thought it was worth mentioning. I'll come back later today and report back fully but I've already checked with Everest and the SLIC shows the OEM Vendor as _ASUS_ so fingers crossed.
Thanks muchly :D

Thanks for this. Works perfectly. Originally had an issue with the BIOS not being able to detect my quad core CPU at the right FSB speeds, but a quick reset to "optimized settings" in the BIOS followed by a restart sorted it out.

Hi I could not get my floppy to work so i flashed the bios in windows and of curse it killed my motherboard, now I'm waiting for a new bios chip so now i don't know if I should try again, I don't think xfx is going to send me another chip for free. So my question is if it was the windows flash that broke the board and by doing it on dos is the only way to really know that it works. I dont doubt you guys skills i have flashed 3 different boards with your bios mods and all of them work fine.
