Requesting the following, if you have the time:
-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : ASUS P6T (not Deluxe!!!)
- BIOS Revision: 0403
- BIOS Type: AMI
- BIOS SLIC: Asus
- BIOS Link: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1366/P6T/P6T-ASUS-0403.zip
I have some problems with updated 0306 bios.
Thanks
Please try this: http://www.box.net/shared/plsynlpko1
Report back please :D
While Activation may indeed be working fine, I cannot access the BIOS with my USB keyboard (Logitech G15) anymore with this modded BIOS. Normal 0403 I can. So something isn't quite right. Keyboard works fine once Windows loads though.

I've had this modded myself for some time now, I just used an isa mod, tried all 3 but still when i wake from standby my cpu fan hits full speed and wont slow till a reboot, without a mod it doesn't act this way. Wondering if anyone knows a better mod method for this board, im rusty on modding with new methods now, haven't done it for some time.
thanks

While Activation may indeed be working fine, I cannot access the BIOS with my USB keyboard (Logitech G15) anymore with this modded BIOS. Normal 0403 I can. So something isn't quite right. Keyboard works fine once Windows loads though.
sounds like you haven't got usb legacy support enabled in the bios, some bios revisions also have usb keyboard in dos options too, i highly doubt its a bios problem

OK - Check your Private Message. Please try the mod and once you confirm I will post it here. Also make sure USB legacy support is enabled in the BIOS as phurnt suggests

Note:
This BIOS introduces support for AMD's new 45nm Phenom II processors on AM2+ socket. So, whoever wants them will need this bios on this board.
There is some more info on Dual-Channel mode i wish to add. With the last bios-revision Gigabyte disabled the Dual-Channel, or let me say "Ganged" mode. I was very angry at them because of this and wrote to their support-site. The answer came late but was quite informative. They basically said that AMD disabled the so-called ganged mode with the newer Phenom II Processors and thus they where forced to take it out, but this is not bad at all they claim. It is very technical and i understood only half of the explanation but it seems like the ganged-mode is something that is not needed anymore due to some other technique in the memory controller which works faster and better anyway. so that was what they basically stated. I don't care anymore. System works fast and stable, which is my main concern.
cheers,
Gollum

I've had this modded myself for some time now, I just used an isa mod, tried all 3 but still when i wake from standby my cpu fan hits full speed and wont slow till a reboot, without a mod it doesn't act this way. Wondering if anyone knows a better mod method for this board, im rusty on modding with new methods now, haven't done it for some time.

Hi,
What a long story... First and foremest thank you for your help. After the update it seems that the USB ports didn't work anymore (strange how this is related but anyhow). Reverted to the previously moded F2 and everything seemed to be working, but then I decided to test all ports and to my surprise 4 out of the 8 rear ports didn't work. To verify that this is a mod problem I flashed the stock F2 and then all USB ports seem to work, so its propably not a hardware problem. My conclusion so far is that this mod has problems and propably the previous F2 mod isn't perfect as well. Can the person who tested the previous F2 mod verify that all USB ports are working?
Wish you all the best,

Just discovered this forum...WOW
I bought a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 and to my dismay the Dasumu patch bios emulation/SLIC thingy wouldnt work.
I realized this MB is not like Asus which sells to the public.
Anyhow...Downloaded the F4 bios and flashed it via the Gigabyte flash utility and presto the Dasumo bios activation thingy worked.
These are my questions in no particular order from this grateful newbie.
1) The f4 bios (asus SLIC) had an autoexec file, i didnt use it, just pointed the gigabyte flasher to the bios itself. is that ok?
2) if I update to the f5 bios, will my activation have to be done again?
3) the F5 bios here is Asus/HP...why both when the F4 was Asus only?
4)if the f4 flahing was perfect, can I assume the f5 flashing will go equally smooth? (also the f5 bios has a xml License thingy, is this part of the flashing?
Thanks so much!

Thanks for the feedback. However, the bios that was modded based on your request was F2A and NOT F2.
Can you flash the stock F2A and confirm the USB port issue.
Please go to your post for the link to F2A (this is the one I used). Here is the link to your post (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=54639&postcount=18052)

Answers..in your particular order..
1. DOS is better, booting to dos with the autoexec with flashspi
2. Only if it is a factory bios. If it is a mod bios with the same slic, no reactivation. If you use a HP or other then need another cert installed.
3. The ASUS is for VISTA (SLIC or SLP2.0) and the HP is for XP (SLP1.0 )
4. The xml license thingy is part of activation, not flashing. I cant see how you dont know what it is if you have activated with the modded bios.. Other than the dasumo is a boot loader and has nothing to do with these modded bios..Go figure..This is a 'softmod' and will likely fail in the future..
There is no guarantee with the flash. Too many factors can ruin your flash and brick the board. It is always a risk. If you do not need the new version for added features, fixes, or cpu updates, there is no advantage, only risk..:D
FYI...DOn't assume anything, Bios modding and the resultant flashes are fraught with possible problems. If you cant afford to possibly lose your board, you should seek life elsewhere...At the risk of being too crass..
Good luck and our success rate is fairly good at the moment *knock on wood*..
What a long story... First and foremest thank you for your help. After the update it seems that the USB ports didn't work anymore
Please test stock F2A bios like p4spooky mentioned to see if the USB ports work. You may need to clear cmos and load defaults after updating from F2 to F2A. (Not doing that could be the reason for the problem.)
If USB ports work with stock F2A then try modded F2A again. If they still don't work then make a memory dump of system with modded F2A using one of these methods:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=52257&postcount=17496
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=52268&postcount=17502
That will show us if the SLIC code has been modified in RAM.

Thanks Medic for your reply.
I really am a Newbie, embarassingly so.
All I know is I would build ASUS MB systems and use dasumo and voila, activation and never a worry.
Was the boot loader by dasumo accomplising this?
Now with a Gigabyte EX58- UD5 that wouldnt take the dasumo Bootloader activation until I applied the F4 bios that I got here.
So Am I using a soft mod now?
Will the activation go away eventually?
I still dont understand the mechanics as to why the asus MB took dasumo without a bios mod whereas Gigabyte wont
Is there a way to know for sure that this Gigayte MB and any other from Gigabyte will give me perfect activation as the Asus MB/ Dasumo boot loader provided for me?
So if I switch from the f4 i downloaded here to the f5 i downloaded here will i have to reapply dasumo?
Thanks again Medic

I used newer version 1.12 in 7100v1C.zip which fixes something from the previous one in 7100v1B.zip that you linked to. If you need the older one let me know. Make sure your motherboard is just "MSI K8N Diamond" not "Plus" or "SE".

Thanks again Medic
jeff
You are using softmod now. It most likely will fail in the future, as updates remove or inactivate these. When, we dont know..
The difference in bios is most likely where the bios writes to memory. Some bios work with VL2, some with 3.0, some with WOW patch. Some work from revision to revision, it is a crapshoot as to manufacturer and revision working.
Depends on the mechanics of the bios and memory allocations as to whether the patch will work or not. It is not a problem to run the program again, no??
You take your chances with losing activation with soft mods, you take a chance with losing your MB with bios mods. If you flash a modded bios successfully, I see no need to use the VL..Kind of defeats the purpose of modded SLIC bios..:D

Hi,
Sorry, should have explained this better. I did flash the moded F2A to begin with, which is the one I requestd. I had problems with the USB ports, so just as a test I flashed the moded F2 - the previous one, and to my surprise 4 out of the 8 rear USB ports didn't work. To make sure I did not have a hardware problem I flashed the stock F2/F2A and all ports work perfectly.
The issue seems to be with the mod, where I think that the previous F2 mod did also cause problems. To verify we need another user with that MB (the one who initially requested the F2 mod)
Many thanks,
/A

No..It doesnt matter the make of the motherboard, the softmods can be rendered ineffective by an update. When you enter the bootloaders into the mix, they may work for a good while, they may not. Permanent, almost certainly not..
I am having a hard time understanding why you would want to use a bootloader with a modded bios. The bootloaders are known to be bad for the harddrives. There is no need for such non-sense:D
conversely, there is no need to risk a bios flash if you are using a software mod.
If your bios is modded, remove the VL, and insert the serial and cert.

Medic, you reign supreme as i realize I know bubkas compared to you.
All I know is since 2007/2008 using My asus MB together with Dasumo's bootloader allowed "activation" without any machine ever loosing that activation
If I use My Gigabyte MB with the Modded F4 bios from this forum, do a fresh install of vista, It will say windows "need to be activated" UNTIL I apply the Dasumo bootloader...then it says "activated"
It cant say Windows activated unless dasumo is applied, right or wrong?
Sorry to appear ignorant, but obviously I am...Oh what is VL?

I tried on my gigabyte ma790xt ud4p (v1) and it doesn't work, the system boot and freeze after hdd count and ACC give me a black screen after reboot when it is activated, anyone know how to activate the dual bios ??
EDIT: I have launched qflash (it starts after 5 min of black screen) and I have reinstalled the original bios F2B, OUF, but I never could use the dual bios, maybe it's activates only when the bios is corrupted. Waiting for a new release !!

Hi folks,
i'm not able to flash my GIGABYTE GA-MA770-DS3 Rev. 2.0. I tried this (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?p=49386&highlight=ga-ma770#post49386) BIOS file but i it didn't work with AFUDOS (used 'afudos /i$filename /pbnc') and the original tool made by GIGABYTE (FLASHSPI).
I know that this mainboard uses a dual bios, could this be the problem? How to solve it then?
Thanks for your support!
edit: I looked at the manufacturer's homepage and saw that it's an Award BIOS but i never had one. How to flash?

Heyho,
thanks for modding my BIOS (Gigabyte ex58-UD3R, Version F4).
I flashed my BIOS via the internal qflash utility with your Ex58Ud3r.F4 file.
Worked well, my Bios is now in the F4 rev.
Tried to use slmgr.vbs, but it always tells me, that i dont have the permission to do that.
So i tried to use one of the softmod-loaders (like Vista activator 3.0.0.1) with Asus (i think it should do the same like with the Hardmod, but additionally installs a Bios-emulator, right?).
Now my Key shows the letters OEM in it, and there is the ASUS-symbol visible.
But its not activated.
So i tried everest to check, if everything is right.
SLIC : OEM ID = _ASUS_
SLIC : OEM Table ID = Notebook
RSDT : OEM ID = HPQOEM
RSDT : OEM Table ID = SLIC-MPC
Something went wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Everest report looks correct. You need to run command prompt in Administrator mode or disable UAC. Please do this:
1. Uninstall the softmod: http://keznews.com/2883_VOATK_TOOLS_V2_0_Final
2. For 39 certificates (file.xrm-ms) and HOWTO go HERE (http://rapidshare.com/files/118119842/39-CERTS.zip)
3. Install ASUS cert and key using the instructions from #2 (run command prompt as admin)

I hope i'm posting this in the right place.. I'm new :)
Here's my request. I have the P5L-MX motherboard with the latest bios(1103) installed. I'm using the X6800 CPU.
The X6800 multiplier is unlock on the CPU but the bios will not go over 11(stock default). I emailed Asus and they replied this feature is not enable on the P5L-MX 1103 bios. There are no plans to release anymore bios updates for this board.
I like to ask one of the modders here to unlock the bios multiplier with a tweak bios update. Please.
Thank you.

Solution was pretty simple:
Ive just uninstalled the Crack with its own integrated Option (ist the Vista Activator 3.0.0.1) and rebooted, now my Vista is activated.
So if the modded Bios ist installed, just install the activator 3.0.0.1 with the given SLIC and unistall it. Then everything should be fine.
Perhaps a Job for a programmer to automate this?
Anyway, heres the report:
Manufacturer: Gigabyte
Type: EX58-UD3R
Bios type: Award/Phoenix
Bios version: F4
Slic: ASUS
Works and Vista is activated :)
Thanks!
