Hello Fzeven, BigErnM and Abit bios modders
This is a new bios just out for the Abit IX38 QuadGT that will finally allow me to use my HD4870x2
Bios request:
-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model: abit IX38 QuadGT
-Bios revision: 16
-Bios Type: AWARD

Many thanks,

So new even Abit doesn't have it. I would wait for an official one to be safe.
Hi discoboy, I cannot mod right now.....
@ Biosmodders:
ABIT was the manufacturer that forced us to develop OEM7, it wasn't Gigabyte.
If somebody wants to mod it, go straight to original OEM7.......I'm sure discoboy has tested the original before......

This is with Tommy ISA added (Asus SLIC).
Update: This worked but versions F5, F6, F7, F8 are all available now, so there's probably no reason to use this anymore. See All Slics thread.
It is already modded.

Oops, didn't see that. Might as well give it a try! Update to the unmodded v16 and load setup defaults first if you haven't already as a precaution. :)

However, with your added info that "This is with Tommy ISA added", I do have a question, I used to use F4 version I downloaded from the 'All Slics - Tested and Not Tested' page and Windows is already activated, and then after flashing BIOS to version F3 which is this one Windows is also automatically activated, Do I required to do anything else in Windows?

DMI configuration utility. Use it to add the hewlett packard string to the dmi table for XP activation with oembios files and slp serials....Not difficult to do, and there is a tattoo disc around that automates it for you...

Hi, Ket has released his modded mBIOS's for the P5Q Series, please could you mod in perticular the Deluxe Model, but all 4 BIOS in the rar would be great, then anybody looking for P5Q could find the latest and best BIOS.
-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model = ASUS P5Q Deluxe
-Bios revision = 1611m (v1) (Modded by Ket)
-Bios Type = AMI
-SLIC = ASUS
-Bios Link = http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LKT0CA0G
Thanks in advance!
Here are the changes btw -
Ahead of time so I don't have to do it later, heres what the 1611 mBIOSes have changed.
- Added Premium memory table (v1) \ Added Pro memory table (v2)
- P6 microcode update, total number of supported CPUs up to 41. (39 in previous mBIOSes)
- Boot logo changed to the ever-popular dragon
The usual "wasn't intending but seemingly got fixed" things
- Pull-ins
- Couple other things I can't remember off the top of my head
Before anyone asks, heres the deal with v1 and v2 BIOSes, NOTHING apart from the memory table is different. V1 uses the Premium memory table (54100) whereas V2 uses the Pro memory table (58420). I have no idea why the memory table is larger in the P5Q\Pro\Deluxe BIOS code, I would guess at A: Asus have not yet updated the code for the Premium in the beta BIOS, or B: Asus have removed "junk" code from the Premium memory table, which one would think would lead to better OCs.

Hi Yen, fzeven and zort ,
Abit motherboard manufacturing is FINISHED, and will officially close end of Dec. 2008. You will see the Abit USA forums are closed and Abit.com.tw is down.
You will most likely not see this BIOS ever upped to Abit.com.tw.
I got this bios from Abit Europe (Netherlands) to fix my HD4870x2 black screen at boot issue... Which it DOES fix ;)
Anyway to fzeven:
Works great.. SLIC present and Windows Activated. Thanks again...
Discoboy ;)
Thanks for that info. Abit was the first company that introduced sensitive modules---->OEM7.
Now they are finished.:D

Hi again China4Ever. I tried all kinds of different methods to flash and reset the CMOS hoping to get around the checksum error, but the error is always there.
I found BIOS Info Tool v1.4 to compare the checksums between the original and your modded bios. I attached the two output files and created a difference file of the two. Should LOGO Bitmap have the same checksum? Thanks for looking. :)

You need to flash from dos and a bootdisk..command prompt not suffice..If I misunderstood the c:/ then I apoloize...
Change the name of the bios to 1406.rom and flash..afudos doesn't like long names:rolleyes:
No need for switches..clear cmos and load defaults manually...

Perhaps your BIOS was reset to default settings. In that case enter BIOS setup, go the Main menu and select IDE Configuration. Select item "Configure SATA As" and change from IDE to RAID. Save and exit. Then after rebooting the Intel option ROM should load and automatically detect any RAID volumes you created with it.

Many thanks for the mod bios.
Before I try it can you show me some evidence or a post that confirms that this "Tommy ISA" method works on Abit IP35 IX38 and IX48 series boards as I understood from Yen that only the OEM7 method works for these boards as a Abit bios is hard to recover if the bios mod is bad?
Thanks,

Hi zort and 911medic,

As your IP35 Pro mod (ISA) worked perfect and 911medic also recomends the ISA method I am now off to flash both MB's........

There is always a chance that the ISA module won't be compatible, but Tommy's seems to work for more people than the original muyu ISA. Also I compared the old and new BIOS files before uploading them to make sure cbrom didn't overwrite any code, and they looked fine.
Remember if you're using an older version bios, best procedure it to upgrade to the unmodded new version first, load defaults, and then update to modded same version.

Thanx for you're feedback, enjoy it.

bios failed can't boot up my computer, please help i dont have a floopy disk drive.
Try clearing CMOS with the jumper on the motherboard. (Computer should be off while doing this. Change jumper position for a few seconds then put it back.) Turn on computer, go into setup and load defaults, save and exit. See if it boots OK.
If it still isn't booting copy an unmodded BIOS to a usb flash drive and plug it in. Turn on computer and press Alt-F2 (repeatedly if necessary) to launch EZ-Flash.

I made the mistake of flashing the bios on my eMachines desktop (which had a Gateway SLIC from the factory) with the updated Foxconn bios, but didn't realize until it was too late that the updated bios didn't have the SLIC table!! AARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Here is a rapidshare link to the bios if anyone could add a Gateway SLIC back to it for me please!! : http://rapidshare.com/files/171536639/662W1P45.zip.html
I'd really appreciate it as I have a new processor and ram coming this week and intend to put vista on here, but need the SLIC table back.
P.S. it was sooooooo nice of Gateway/eMachines to refuse to provide me with a new copy of the original bios :P

I have encountered a problem with the SLIC BIOS posted for this mobo at:
http://rapidshare.com/files/101645702/458WP323.zip.html
Seems to be ok & activates on loading Vista in the usual manor.
However, as soon as windows updates are loaded it goes back to 30 days activation.
Any chance someone could take a look to see what the problem is, & hopefully fix it.
If there is an alternative out there could someone point me at it, any makers slic will do.
Thanks

Try clear cmos and load defaults after flash..If still no activation, could you post a acpiscope report, or even an everest report may enlighten.
Do/did you have any softmods or loaders before..they must be COMPLETELY removed..
How did the flash go?? Any errors or other??
With a report it will be easier to give answer, try to clear cmos and defaults first..

Last resort: You can request Asus send you a new BIOS ROM and swap it when it arrives, or you send the whole mb to them. It's still under warranty, but if you send it to them you'll be without it for a couple weeks.

Here's an ISA version (Tommy/Asus SLIC) you can try.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/2qkgm3
Sorry to report no go with this version, flashed & did a fresh vista install of ASUS Vista Ult. but got the 30 days message straight away. Is there anything special I need to do apart from flash & restore defaults with an ISA version? I notice its a Tommy/ASUS version, whats the Tommy stand for?

Dont worry about the version of ISA used..It is a non-issue here..
The certificate and serial need to be installed..
See here...http://rapidshare.com/files/118119842/39-CERTS.zip
The bios itself allows to activate vista with the certs and serials..:D
Be sure NO bootloaders or softcracks are installed..

Hi!
I have an HP Pavilion Dv5052ea with the following BIOS (info taken using BIOS Agent Plus):
BIOS type: Phoenix
BIOS OEM: F.54
Chipset: Athlon 1100 rev 0
Manufacturer: HP
Motherboard: Pavilion DV5000 (ET037EA#ABU)
BIOS version F.54 can be found at HP: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35204.exe
Basically what I would like is to be able to boot devices (external HD, USB Flash disk, etc) using a USB port. Right now, the only boot possibilities are: diskette drive, CD-ROM drive, hard drive, and network adapter.
I'm currently using Windows XP SP3.
Would this modification be possible?
Thanks!

Dell version is a 'fast' OEM7 mod. Asus is ISA(tommy) mod. I would start with the Asus/ISA bios since ISA is dynamic and less chance for error. If it doesn't work then try the Dell/oem7 bios. Install the matching cert (Asus or Dell) for whichever one you use.

Can i use QFlash utility?
Qflash is better than flashing from within Windows, but DOS is the most reliable method. It's up to you which you choose. Most likely Qflash will work, but for the least risk possible, format a usb flash drive using the links below and boot to it to perform the flash.

Well - after using the BIOS, which was patched properly, I found a problem - I can't get into the BIOS at all - the PC hangs after ACHI Bios Installed, with a code 16 - never mind, I flashed back to the original and it works okay again - and is now using WOW, which really is WOW. Anyway - thanks for trying, and maybe - if you have the time you can look into this problem... Nothing wrong with the activation though.

There is no bios here.......
Dear 911medic,
Does this mean to my LINK? If you meant to please try to check my url again. I've already edited broken link. ;)
If you didn't mean to my LINK, would you please tell me more about "There is no bios here......."
or someone else, can I bother you to mod my bios for Vista Activation please...
Thanks for your careness,
David Lim

The link works now, but unfortunately you're right that it's Intel BIOS, and they can't be modded. You'll have to use Wow or other bootloader.

i also posted in the msi section. i hope it woun't be a problem. 911medic gave me a fios update that i flashed and worked ok. now i'm in vista and i don't know what crack sould i run to activate it. i thought tat the update will change the value from bios/acpi/slic from msi_nb to something else so that i would be able to run a crack .... a bootloader.. linux image that wouldn't crash vista cause every thing i tried so far ended by reinstalling windows. please help

Bootloaders will replace the SLIC in the BIOS. If you've installed one you'll need to remove it in order for the modded BIOS to work. If you have, then this utility may help remove it. If you haven't installed one you can skip this step.

i belive i installed more than one. but afther i install one i had to reinstall vista so last time i reinstalled vista i stayed put. i flashed de bios from 911medic and that's it. so the vista is clean and so is the bios. at least i think so i jumped to second part to the certificates. i run the command and it said that it was succesfully installed. the next thing afther restart i checked to se if the vista appears to be activated but it shows me 30 days to activate :( so i guess it doesn't work. where did i go wrong? and what can i do now? thanks in advance

Very nice..:D Thanks for the feedback!!!
These are flashing from MB flash utilities quite often, I still recommend the DOS for consistency...If it works for you great, stay away from the winflash though..IMHO:cool:
Thanks and enjoy!!!

Thanks zort. I just tried to install the P07 you mentioned, but it was a no-go. I remember that my board has to have the Nvidia updates instead of the XFX ones. They have to have file names like the P08 that I requested the mod for.
