:(:(:( my ASUS F3Jc notebook is die
I'm so sorry to hear that, but like I sait to everyone (if it's not clear) that modding and flashing bioses is at your own risk. By the way I always try to do my best. For your notebook you could try bios recovery procedure (search for it on this forum, it should be here) or bring your notebook to someone who has a reprogram engine for eeproms.

You must use latest afudos 2.2.9 and use the following syntax command
AFUDOS /iBIOS.ROM /pbnc /n (where BIOS.ROM is an example of a bios file name).

I would appreciate it if you could SLIC this for me please. I see others have had problems getting the rom from the BIO file, is this still a problem?
I flashed the bios already with the stock download, so I can dump the bios if needed. Just tell me how to dump it, and then how to reflash it afterwards and I will be happy to.

Hie China4Ever, I have got the same problem with the BIOS modded by you as with Fzeven, ie., . After I flash the BIOS with the modded BIOS, I am not able to load the webpages when I am connected via the ethernet port although I am able to ping all the webpages in existence. After that I had to flash my BIOS with the original .rom File and everything returns to normal only after a week . Also Previously on the BIOS setup page, the model and serial no. of my PC would be mentioned but now the Model no. is Blank, Serial no. is 'NULL' and Product name is Asterope and the OEM logo has changed to HP which previously used to be Compaq. These details have not appeared even after I have flashed with the oriinal 3.24 version .rom file. Can you please suggest me some solution?

Hi Fzeven :)
I'm the guy who screwed his Sony VAIO with the bad Phoenix mod. I've been reading up on things, and there is some talk about the Phoenix recovery feature (that makes it possible to boot into a crisis floppy disk when the BIOS is fried like mine) being something that can be disabled or enabled in the BIOS file.
I took a look at the BIOS image for my Vaio, and under "Multiboot III", there is no asterisk next to "Boot Fail Recovery". Do you know if this means that the recovery option is disabled, and that I will therefore not be able to boot into a crisis floppy no matter what I do? I can't test it since there's no floppy drive in the laptop, and I don't want to buy a USB floppy drive if it can't be used anyway. I've made a bootable cd from the crisis floppy image, but I have so far not been successful in booting into it. But then again, I think it has to be a floppy anyway.
Thanks :)
Can't you try it in the store if it works?

MSI K9AGM2-FIH BIOS V1.5
Just a quick update to make people aware.
I had a spare HDD and installed a clean version of Vista, but neither your mod or Cyclops' work.
The V1.4 still works a treat though.
Thanks a lot to both you for trying, much appreciated.

Wow, that was fast! Just to be curious: What is the difference between the first and the second folder? Could you shortly describe how you made the first version?
Because I first tried the second version (folder: "2")... the BIOS worked so far, but I couldn't get into the BIOS anymore... then I booted with a bootable floppy disk and flashed the first version (folder: "1"). That version works without any problems...
Also my Windows Vista is still activated and genuine! :D

Hello,

Acer Aspire 5102WLMi
Bios revision - V3.10
Bios Type - PHOENIX
Bios Link - v3.10 (ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5100/bios/Bios%203.10.zip)
SLIC = Acer or Asus please
Note: There are a couple of .ROM and .WPH files in the zip file, I guess Flash32.exe will auto detect which file to flash via the autoexec.bat. So, may I request that all of these files be modified, please? Sorry for the inconvenience.
I already tried to activate Vista but no go. Everest shows there's slic in the BIOS but it still wont activate.

there are tools in the forum to mod your bios by yourself that are very easy to use. i tried on bios 1226, but it's better to ask to people that really know about what they're doing when they mod a bios.
by the way this forum rules far.

Mod 1 - Flashed OK. Vista installed and activated OK. Downloaded and installed Ultimate Extras from Windows Update with no problems. GOOD
So it appears that there are 3 successful mods of the F11 BIOS for the 7N400Pro2 Rev 1.x.
I can't thank you guys enough. The effort you guys put into this forum's activities is amazing. If you ever need a place to stay during vacation, send me a PM.
A few parting questions:
Is there a better, more accepted way to test a successful mod other than checking Vista's activation status directly and downloading premium stuff? Is my (relatively) quick check of each sufficient?
If there is an FAQ entry I missed, please feel free to point me in the right direction.

To check for possible failures: (Due to interaction of our inserted code and bioscode, or errors during the flashing process, or wrong flash parameters)
IMO 95% of a possible failure happens right after you've switched on pc / reboot after flashed a mod. (Black or blue screen, beeps, bricked board). Let's say 4% during install / work with Vista and triyng other devices such as DVD device, firewire, and OC'ing.........
Other percent is sleep state issue or some strange errors.
To check for activation: Vista doesn't activate when there isn't a SLIC.
But you can check for the SLIC itself using AcpiScope. You can also extract a SLIC from the bios using this programm.
Result: Your test and statement is significant:)

don't worry! i don't believe MS can break systems activated by true BIOS mods without screwing all their OEM partners. I presume they will only take down the emulated versions.
note that XP is really old now and there are still valid versions of it that will activate and validate in either Volume Licensing or OEM modes.

Thanks, but before i try it, did you use the AUTO method or manaul? because i tried the auto method already with a bios i tried myself and i bricked it. After reading i heard that intel with AMI core needs to be done manually. So i was just wondering if u did manual method?

i don't understand what u want to do, u want to recover your system or reflash your bios? u can't recover your system if the bios is modded, so why don't u dl a boot iso cd (http://www.allbootdisks.com/download/iso.html)
and reflash your bios with the good one. can u boot on cd? in fact there are not enough parameters for people to help u the right way, u don't tell what model exactly u have, if u got this message after the flash u will never recover your system. do u have the original bios? if u can boot on cd, u'll use an iso from the site and flashback to good bios with some phoenix flash tool
or some tool from sony site, i don't know what they propose to recover from prob like your. if the bios is integrated in some exe file u can always try to extract it with some tool like universal extractor. but if they propose just the bios file, u'll easy flash it if u can boot on your cd-rom.
don't know if i helped u cause i don't really get what u want to do and if your laptop is totaly crashed, if not i dont understand why u dont boot on iso cd with dos on it or some win98bootdisk iso, etc. anyway good luck with your inexplicit prob and wish, maybe u posted all those infos but there's so many pages, and i could not read a lot of your messages cause there's no return arrow after 2 or 3 messages...

Hi. I have a question. I upgraded BIOS on my ACER 5720z (version with nVidia 8400M GS graphic card = 5720ZG) from 1.18 to 1.19. I'm quite sure, that SLIC was there in 1.19. But I used anoher "medicine" (some timer stop) before VOATK 1.5 (for acer). After the usage VOATK, vista ultimate was not (and still are not) activated. And I can not see SLIC in everest now. I made new install of vista ultimate after format c: and SLIC isn't still there. I don't understand. Please, can you mod bios for me? I tried to use search functin here, but I wasn't succesful.

Hi!
Please ignore my request, as I read the instructions and done the mod myself.
It was really easy. It worked fine. Here is the result:
Modded BIOS link for Gigabyte 865GME-775-RH 6.6:
http://rapidshare.com/files/74604023/Gigabyte865GME-775-RH-6.6.zip.html
You can flash with @BIOS or Q-BIOS. It activates and it passes WGA check.
Have a great day.

Do you have a link for the instructions that you followed for your Gigabyte board?

Instructions?
I did the mod following the <Mod Your Own Bios> steps and using the tools provided there. (see link below).
As for the update, you have the instructions in your MoBo's manual.
Activation: run < cmd > with admin priviledges and type < slmgr.vbs -ilc asus.xrm-ms> (if you used Asus OEM SLIC)
good luck,

Is the Intel D975XBX impossible to mod? I believe it's a Phoenix BIOS but so far the Intel mods seem to be few and far between. Hope you don't mind if I repost my original request...

Did you import the certificate and used a slp2.0 key?
What do you mean by slip 2.0 key? I was using v1.4 bios you made and it was working fine, but when I put in 1.5 it stopped working. I assume the keys that worked for 1.4 would work for 1.5, or was there a change?
