Hi Everyone...am back again after some long time with a new board and a new request. User TTXX has already reguestet this here (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=38565&postcount=13905) but had no luck with the answers (bricked his mobo).
Yen said, he's having another idea now and will give it a try. So i'm posting this request here just "pro-forma" so that others can profit from an eventual solution as well.

Hi Offon7544!
First off, thank you very much.
Bios flashed perfectly well with Q-Flash. Bios behaves normal, no strange behaviour so far.
I removed the Grub Loader, which was running an ASUS emu SLIC. Vista remained activated. Checked Grub Loader with another method, did a second removal-run with that second method, just to be sure. Vista remains activated.
so here is the Confirm:
Manufacturer: GigaByte
Board: GA-MA790GP-DS4H
Bios-rev: F2A
Bios Type: AWARD
Mod-Link: ASUS SLIC Mod (http://rapidshare.com/files/157965569/MA79GD4H_slic_ASUS.rar)
Modder: Offon7544
Vista activation state: ACTIVATED
ACPIscope Picture: http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/9753/slickm4.jpg
One thing to be mentioned though: I am not 100% sure, that ACPIscope really gets its info from the Bios, even if i tell it to. Just in Case the Loader did not get removed properly and the Scope would take its info from the emu, this proof would be useless. i'm just saying. maybe. i don't really know.

Adding ISA code didn't activate?
cbrom182 KV7_20.BIN /isa iasus1.bin
or as isa2?
CBROM182 KV7_20.BIN /OTHER 40A5:0 iasus1.bin
or as isa3
CBROM182 KV7_20.BIN /OTHER 40A6:0 iasus1.bin
If not you have to go for a SSv1 mod at Award or to wait for a mod...at most Abit bioses isa doesn't work, that's true.

Good even Fzeven and 911,
Recently I just upgraded to a new motherboard ( DFI DK P45 ) and I was fortunate to benefit from your hardwork to mod my old mobo. ( Gigabyte G33 )
Any chance that you guys could take a look at this BIOS? Because I can save quite a bit and I don't mind donating for your time and work. Right now I haven't really installed the board because I wanna make sure I get everything in order first.

Hey responding about the bios u made unfortunatley it killes the mobo after flashing.Could not enter bios(blank screen).ould not enter boot menu(blank screen).Evertime i tried to enter bios or bootscreen montor went black and pc sat there doin nothin.Couls not blind flash it want blank before any hard disk or cd became detected.Cleared cmos, took battery out for 10 mins same thing.Anyways the mobo was ****,i hated it lol.Now im up and running again with an Asus P5Q Pro,it rocks, got my C2D 6750@3000MHZ no sweat.Dont know what went wrong with the bios tho.Ive been building for 15 years and usually can recover from bad flash, but this one i could not recover.Flashed with Asus awdflash 1.20 and used the following commands :-awdflash 1301slic.bin /py /sn /cc /cd /cp /ld r.
Anyway thought id report back with my findings,up and running again now.
PS i Knew the risks involved before flashing and am not blaming anybody.

Anyway thought id report back with my findings,up and running again now.
PS i Knew the risks involved before flashing and am not blaming anybody.
I still appreciate you guys time and effort for the people
I'm sorry to hear that.:(
I've removed the biosfile so it can't be downloaded anymore.
Maby you can hotflash it if the bioschip sits into a socket

i have just tested the bios fixed by 911medic, and work fine, perfect!
what i have to do for fix other bios with this problem?
i wait your advice.
thanks a lot 911medic!!
for YEN
I tested
first
cbrom182 KV7_20.BIN /isa iasus1.bin
second isa2
CBROM182 KV7_20.BIN /OTHER 40A5:0 iasus1.bin
last isa3
CBROM182 KV7_20.BIN /OTHER 40A6:0 iasus1.bin
thanks yen
This is an SSV1 mod..There is a tut for it somewhere in the mod your own bios thread, I think...
Extract/release the acpitbl.bin : add nocompress slic.bin(zero checksum) :
figure location for slic : Calculate pointer to SLIC like: FFF80000h (it's a 512 kbyte bios)+ 483A0h (offset of SLIC found at bios) = FFFC83A0h, reverse it: A0 83 FC FF, extend RSDT +4 bytes, raise table length byte to 3C, modify OEM (_ASUS_) and OEM table ID (Notebook) and insert reversed address as pointer...............(just for illustration, these are not the numbers for this bios )
Very glad it worked for you..seems to be the way for these..
Thanks for the feedback!!

Appreciate some help with this one, I have posted in another thread but I'll move it here.
Mobo: ASUS IMISR-VM GM965 (custom desktop board not for sale)
Bios : AMI

ACPI Scope readout :http://rapidshare.com/files/157286180/asus_bios.rar
The ACPI Scope readout is from a bios kindly modded by 911medic, as you can see the RDST and XSDT still show as "RM plc"
If someone can make this a DELL I'd be really happy :)
Try this..I found a RM plc string and I think this will do it..I hope:D

hi guys,
can someone help me? i have a gigabyte motherboard GA-7N400 PRO 2 (Rev 1). i downloaded the bios update to run vista and installed it - no problem. however, when i insert the install cd and await the computer to start reading from the cd to install, it says it is analysing my hardware configuration (not exact words) but then the install hangs. i reflashed my bios to its original version and the cd works fine again. would anyone have any info on this at all? i very much appreciate any help or feedback.

Nice work, offon7544!
Any sleep state issues?
Hi Yen, Hi Offon7544!
If you are refering to the Mod on the MA790GP-DS4H Bios done by Offon7544, i can report for all to know that this Mod appears to be sort of stable and somewhat safe to flash now.
Warning:
There was one issue when trying to recover from S3 by using the keyboard (USB) instead of the Power-Switch. When i did this, the OS did not come back online and the Board could not be switched off by power button. It would just hang with fans running and screen black. After a reset the DMI/CMOS data was corrupted. It could partly be fixed by clearing the CMOS, but setting BIOS Options and then saving to CMOS would get the Board into this hang-state again. after clearing CMOS a second time the board would boot again and then report CMOS checksum error, offering to load a clean CMOS config file from BIOS-Memory (emergency-backup config).
Having done so, CMOS was overwritten with clean data. The Board would behave normal again.
I did then disable wake up from S3 by USB Devices, for this appears to be unsafe.
I have not tested this with the un-modded bios, so i cannot verify if this behaviour is due to the mod or maybe a board specific problem ( i have seen this behaviour very often in quite some boards, so it is not necessarily a mod-problem).
When vista came back online the first time after this, i had a bluescreen, which occured right after the first keystroke on the (usb) keyboard and which was traceable to a RAM related problem according to some help-sites, partly maybe due to Dual Channel mode. I suspect this being due to the previous BIOS Hickup. It has not happened again yet.
Very unlucky for User ttxx, that he bricked is board with the other mods since this would've done the trick at least without breaking the board...:D
Am still very happy about your work, offon7544, really. And Yen, thx again for offering further assistance.;)
[EDIT]
All issues as described above turned out to be RAM-related, since i had my RAM running with too low voltage it would just fail and behave faulty.
The BIOS from Offon7544 behaves correct, stable and normal!

I apologise in advance for this, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. This is my first time trying to use a BIOS mod. I have a GA-P35C-DS3R, so I downloaded the modded bios posted by 911medic in the Slics thread. I flashed my motherboard using Qflash (which I just read is wrong in this thread, but it seems to have installed properly, also, I have no idea how to boot into DOS on Vista). Thing is, when I try to activate, I get an error.
I'm using the key starting with 6F2D7. And I'm on Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. Tell me this is something that is easy to fix... and please... be kind :D .
If I have to do this in DOS, any tips on how to get into it. I don't have a floppy drive though...

If 1535 come with vista, you already have a SLIC table in the bios, so nothing to do...

I have been searching for quite a while for a modded BIOS
for an Intel board. I know it is beyond my ability but I have
seen many opinions on whether or not it can be done.
I would appreciate it if someone could actually do it for me.
I have a D946GZTS the link for the BIOS
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2483&OSFullName=All+Operating+Systems&lang=eng&strOSs=All&submit=Go%21#BIO.
I updated to sp1 and now I can't get any of the softmods to work.
I will be grateful for any help, even an answer that "it can't be modded"
Thanks

Hi, I'd like to request the F13 BIOS be modded with Tom1's S3 wakeup (SLIC after ACPI so that the 965P-DS3 doesn't lose Vista activation with SP1) modification.
I've been searching these forums like crazy... and I've managed to find an F12 that was modded, but the S3 wakup fix that Tom1 figured out wasn't applied. I'd try injecting it myself for the learning opportunity, but I don't have a 32-bit version of Windows (Vista 64 :[), thus, CBROM won't work!
I'd really really appreciate it if someone could mod/inject that in for me. The links are...
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=22157&postcount=38 (Updated ISA with Tom1's SLIC modification, just needing an injection)
http://europe.giga-byte.com/FileList/BIOS/motherboard_bios_ga-965p-ds3_f13.exe (Gigabyte 965P-DS3 v3.3 F13 BIOS)
If there already exists one already modified with these fixes, please point me in that direction--my 5 hours of forum searching didn't turn it up, and sometimes I tend to be blind :D

I need SLP 1.0 Dell for a ECS 7050M-M. I see there is one already with a SLIC of ASUS. I have tried to mod the BIOS myself, using the older and newest SLIC 3 tool (2008) and command line for SLP1.0 only. The problem is when I even just do command line SLP 1.0 only into the image, I get the same problem as the SLIC 3 tool. Enters a endless reboot and floppy search for recovery image...seems the checksum is incorrect.
Anyone willing to do a SLP 1.0 Dell (and slp 2.0 Dell if possible too) on this for me, and maybe educate me why my attempt failed. Thanks for any insight or help.

Thanks for your help!!
If you make it bootable & boot from it than it will work.
A bootable cd can be used also.
Have a look here:

Are having a Dell Optiplex GX270, with Phoenix Bios A07 and Vista version is not activated. According to Everest, RSDT is available, but SLIC table is missing. Reference to BIOS = http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=70114
How to proceed?
Further more: Is it possible to test modifying BIOS on an older Optiplex GX240? If so, risk of destroying BIOS of older PC is less harmfull. GX240 has Phoenix Bios A05 and Vista version also not activated. According to Everest, RSDT is available and SLIC table is also missing. no ezflash..flash only from pure dos with the afudos..this could be problem..
you need bootdisk for these..at command prompt..type:

Make sure the bios file and afudos are on the bootdisk..

I'm using BIOS F11 with ASUS SLIC, and try to use Gigabytes Advanced Dynamic Energy Saver. The program tells me to update to a newer BIOS. Can someone help me save the planet by adding ASUS SLIC to the latest BIOS? :D

I did try with the @BIOS utility to flash the EP35-DS3R F3 BIOS, in the spirit that the P35 rev 2.1 is similar with the EP35, but it said "BIOS Partnumber(AWARD) is not correct!" Hopefully the F13a adds support for DES Advanced.

Hi, I would like to request a bios mod. I tried the v1.2 bios on the "All SLIC's" thread, which worked perfectly - however, bios 1.3 increases sytem stability with my Geforce 9800GTX+ and 1.4 reduces boot time dramatically.

I'm using BIOS F11 with ASUS SLIC, and try to use Gigabytes Advanced Dynamic Energy Saver. The program tells me to update to a newer BIOS. Can someone help me save the planet by adding ASUS SLIC to the latest BIOS? :D
-Motherboard = GA-P35-DS3R (rev. 1.0,2.0,2.1)
-Bios revision = F13a
-Bios Type = AWARD
-Bios SLIC = ASUS
-Bios: ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/bios/motherboard_bios_ga-p35-ds3r_f13a.exe
I did try with the @BIOS utility to flash the EP35-DS3R F3 BIOS, in the spirit that the P35 rev 2.1 is similar with the EP35, but it said "BIOS Partnumber(AWARD) is not correct!" Hopefully the F13a adds support for DES Advanced.

Unfortunately, it's having the exact same issue. Is it possible this is a new bios type? I am no longer able to downgrade back to v1.2.
Same message shown in Everest as was shown with last attempt. I do appreciate your attempts, I'll continue to test them as long as they don't brick my new board :D;)
Edit: One thing I just remembered - The bios the board came with, version 1.0, already had a SLIC table, it was just empty. If I can provide you with it, could you perhaps have a look at it and try adapting it to the 1.4? However, if they really have changed the bios between 1.2 > 1.4, I doubt that'd help.

Maybe Yen can have a look..The first version is different. It has a slic, as you said, and this does not. The first is also ssv3 and would maybe brick your board, as I have not tried this for that reason.
I looked at the last one because of the size of this bios.
I should not try again.I think there is a way you can force your flash to a lower bios, I do not know the switches though.
Can you make a acpiscope .ats file of your present bios?

Have you installed any softmods (bootloader, etc)?
These were asus slics, so do you mean activated from your mods?? I do not understand if you flashed one of these or not..

you can uninstall the wow5 and install a asus cert, or I can make another mod for HP.
clean install would require you to install a cert and serial. There should be an uninstall.bat or similar for the WOW5. Irregardless, you need to install the correct slic cert.
I am guessing that if the vista is activating, it is from the wow disc, since I made asus mods:D..

Yep, If you want a hp slic, say so, and I will change it for later. We can see if asus works first, it is no biggie to change cert later and serial will probably stay the same.:D:D

11-04-2008, 03:34 PM
I appreciate all your help so far, I'm very new to these concepts. What would someones reason be for wanting one Slic over another? If you want to keep a machine one brand, and dual boot xp/vista, some slp1 strings are easier to input. HP will go in with a DMI editor and activate XP with oembios files and serial from HP. Dell is not that simple, but can be done.
Some OEMs didn't initially, or don't offer ultimate. Gateway for example. Home premium is well and fine for most people, but they want ULTIMATE, some compensation thing:D
Anyway, it boils down to preference, and I think ASUS was one of the first found to work, sooo Hard to break the paradigm once it has started and all want asus slics. They all work well, and if you don't dual boot, it doesn't matter IMHO.
