You didn't happen to add the SLP 1 Dell info to that bios as well did you? I think I'm going to try to dual-boot XP on the machine so I can compare speed on the dual xeon board, and it would be handy if it had both :).

For me it's the same problem with this new one as yesterday with the previous : system hangs without any beep when rebooting after configuring bios....

It's a shame because with 1236 doesn't boot with 4x1GB or 2x2GB DDR modules.

I dont know why it is hanging..I have been adjusting the checksums to previous..I suppose I could put one out withput adjusting the checksum:rolleyes:

Maybe that is the issue, no?

What do you think:cool: Want to try it..It seems that the previous mod is the same type, but the checksums do not seem to be adjusted to unmodified values...thats all I got:p

No thanks, I would say that the problems do not look like checksums error : the bios behaviour is clearly modified, but I can still access to setup screen or even boot on DOS a floppy to reflash.

Maybe Petar or Alessio[IT] can help when they are around.

your mobo must be new because its has what looks like a new protection module in the bios.

Hope this works, I simpley move the SLIC isa module higher than the protection module :D

EZ flash is most likely the problem with the flash..not the bios.

It is more likely to fail from windows or other types of flashes than from dos with the proper tools. ;) In this case AFUDOS is the proper way to flash..

Its always a chance we take.........

Do you have a raid addon card or ATA drives attached?

Have you tried this bios before mod?
May not be the mod, but the bios itself may not like your drives or pci device(s)

Be sure you are flashing from DOS with the proper tool..qflash or winflash could be a problem also....

You can try this isa mod..the china forever mod is ssv1.. mine is the isa mod..flash from DOS.

This did not work (Biostar TPower I45). Made the PC unbootable (would not POST, no video, etc).

I have seen this elsewhere, I dont recall where..I am not sure how to fix it other than try repair...does it not boot from DVD?

I would like you to try this..flash from dos with the flashspi you have..this is an asus slic and is not my mod..it has worked in the past, and if it works for you, I will attempt to change slic for you as you request...

It can not shut down computer. After press "shut down" on vista, it will boot again. And whenever turn on computer, it will try to boot several times, and boot windows.

try this..the first was an isa mod..don't know why it would cause you grief..Maybe this helps??

With AWDFLASH from DOS please..no switches..clear cmos and load defaults manually..you could also try to flash the first the same way without switches..just a thought..:D

(The /S makes this is an OEM board. It's actually an ASUS board but sold as fujitsu-seimens D1711 OEM Motherboard - The ASUS K8V-MX BIOS gives an invalid ROM ID AND the board is laid out differently than the K8V-MX/S. The correct BIOS is below and was downloaded from fujitsu-siemens)
