Thanks in advance to anyone who can mod this. I've tried the auto method and despite 2 green lights activation fails - it also shows 2 slic entries now :(
for some reason all previous attempts on this site have failed :(
Flash with included AFUDOS tool from pure DOS..not from windows or update flash..

No i tried from ez flash I am afraid from dos if something goes wrong
EZ flash is most likely the problem with the flash..not the bios.
It is more likely to fail from windows or other types of flashes than from dos with the proper tools. ;) In this case AFUDOS is the proper way to flash..
Its always a chance we take.........

Didnt work man, same problem as before - there are 2 slic entries present. Is there anything else that can be done now or is it softmod time? :(
Should only be one now...can you upload an ats file from ACPIScope..:D

I appreciate your help with this greatly 911medic but sadly the 2nd entry is still there, also when i run acpiscope it says driver failed to start. Is that to do with vista x64 or something else? Thanks for your time :D
Yep..the driver thing is probably 64..do you have any softmods or bootloaders installed..have you ever?
I'll check the bios again...

10-01-2008, 07:43 PM
nope no cracks or anything else :( machine was only just built today, i read elsewhere on this forum that its a scrambling problem. I can give you the memory address values from everest if thats any use though.
thanks for your time
not really..try this...did it show a slic before the mod??
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/13/2048424/P5E3-1201_ASUS2.rar
Did you run acpiscope as admin?
911medic
10-01-2008, 08:37 PM
yes i ran as admin and no it didnt show a slic before, however this latest attempt was more succesfull. Now it only shows one slic entry but contains no oem id, we're making progress :D
Progress...hmmm
try this one and see if it is better....do you load defaults and clear cmos between flashes??Just curious:D

Before we do the mod, can you please install and open ACPI Scope.
Go to File-->Load ACPI Information-->From BIOS
Save it as ats file and upload please...;)
Any news about this one? I tried to mod myself but was confused about the string after XSDT because the only one that appears (on file BIOSCOD1.ROM) is pretty different from the first appearance of RSDT (the one with a 14 chars label after it) so I aborted the process.
Here is the original request:
Motherboard: Gateway CX2735m (as reported by Everest)
BIOS revision: 78.08

BIOS link: http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?ref=step&st=browse&platform=10022&model=10746&os=10954&type=10079
The information from ACPI Scope is attached.
Thank you for your help and your time.

ok medic that last one was the same as before, just the one slic table but with no data. thanks for your efforts!
At least the flash is consistant..That was mistakenly the same bios mod:o
I checked this one again and it has the correct modifications in it..lets see..
It doesn't appear to have the FC lock, so if anyone is proficient at the FC mods..maybe that is an optionn if this doesn't work..Just thinking ahead:D
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/13/2048424/P5E3-1201_SLIC.rar
Try clearing cmos and loading defaults this time...
911medic
10-01-2008, 09:44 PM
ok this one was a step backwards lol! this time it took almost 10mins to boot and the slic table is still showing no values, but this time there is another entry called !?# which is corrupt, all the values in everest show !"£!"£:~ symbols.
Can i just ask why this one seems so hard to do? i have slic mods for almost every other motherboard in the p5e3 series and have never had this much trouble, if you think this has gone to far now i understand! Thanks so much for your continued effort, this must be annoying doing all this work for no money lol.
It is calling the slic from another address..I dont know where.. I think it would be a ton easier with acpiscope file..anyway..maybe someone else can figure it out, or just use the fc mod..I dont know how to do that:cool:
Maybe just cool down and take a fresh look later..Put the link to the asus bios back up and see if another has a better go of it...can't say we didn't try:D

Hi all, I'm new to the forum.. and see that all these SLICs are being integrated.. good job. But, can anyone mod a BIOS to allow for the following:
1) Overclock the CPU
2) Adjust RAM timings and Voltages
3) Anything else useful
-Gateway P-7811FX
-BIOS 9c.08.00
-Phoenix BIOS Trusted Core
-Download 64bit/32bit and DOS here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=303626
I apologize for the link to another forum, but the FTP site is private and I'd rather make someone take the extra step to download..just to make sure it's not an accidental attempt.
Any assistance would be appreciated!

Obviously, you have not read much of this thread. I admit, a 1300+ pages ain't inviting, really. But shouldn't you have read the start at least? This thread is about proving the concept of activating vista by inserting an additional SLIC table with licensing info into the BIOS. This made possible by various means and methods, showing, that there are many ways to into ROM(e) (refferring to a german or maybe even international phrase, hrhrhr). So you will most likely not get any help with unlocking purposely locked functions, since this is quite a different pair of shoes. It may or may not involve some very tricky actions, while adding a slic table basically just means to somehow disassemble the different modules of the bios, put in another module, correct adresses, assemble all again and done. So, my stranger friend, try your luck with a slic-activated vista, or else, move on to another thread or forum to find what you desire...

Try to activate..did you clear cmos and load defaults...this makes a difference sometimes. If you could install ACPIscope and upload an ats file, it would most likely make things a bit smoother...
One more thing..do NOT use EZflash..boot from bootdisk and use the awdflash program..ezflash is a bit hinkey with modded bios'

Don't know if that's the right place, but it doesn't hurt to ask:
Something seems to be wrong with the BIOS' EHCI handoff, at least that's what my Linux system's reporting during boot. As this causes every boot to be delayed by ten seconds I'd like this to have fixed BIOS-wise.
Some EHCI specs if needed: http://developer.intel.com/technology/usb/download/ehci-r10.pdf [chapter 5.1]

to flash from DOS you need to add awdflash and your bios file to bootdisk..type 'awd890 yourbios.bin' at prompt..that should get you started..
this bios has not enough room for the slic.bin.....No files to reduce size of..I think it is not moddable (my word:D)....maybe check other versions?
maybe bootloader only option for now:cool: sorry
maybe second opinion??? anyone;)

I don't know if anyone has managed to get it to flash but it will not read on AFUDOS (vesrion 236) from DOS. When attempting to flash via EZ Flash2, it warns of a bad boot block.

The P07 version is what I use right now and that one is modded to include the Asus slic, by one of the great guys here (Fzeven).
This is it: http://rapidshare.com/files/150987682/680LTP07.zip.html
I'd like to use the P08A too and I posted the request as well with a zipfile containing the .bin of the bios and it'd be a shame if modding isn't possible.

In the past China4ever had to do a lot to get my DFI NF4 Ultra-D bios modded and working. He mentioned the superstatic method that he used in the last mod he did for me and that one was succesfull, before he used that method, the modded bios would just sit there, waiting for an array to be detected, after he used that method it worked like a charm. could that help?

Not necessary to do OEM7..why try this?? At the most invasive, ssv1 would suffice:D..I don't think this necessary though:rolleyes:

Don't know if that's the right place, but it doesn't hurt to ask:
Something seems to be wrong with the BIOS' EHCI handoff, at least that's what my Linux system's reporting during boot. As this causes every boot to be delayed by ten seconds I'd like this to have fixed BIOS-wise.
Some EHCI specs if needed: http://developer.intel.com/technology/usb/download/ehci-r10.pdf [chapter 5.1]

TIA, 0x539
I'll take the absence of replies as a "not the right place" then. ;)

Uhm question, i was able to flash previous bios trough windows, is it safe for me to do it with this one too? or is dos mode necessary here. It's a pain in the ass to make a bootdisk when you only got dvd's.

I tried the bios.
first of all isn't it asrflash 775TWTV2.10 /pbnc /n instead of with the /i
because "i" isn't even in the filename, and / is not necessary?
Well anyway i typed the exact command you typed, which gave me this weird window with all sorts of choices, enable boot bla bla disable boot bla quit bios, help etc.
I didn't know what to choose so i just flashed like this: asrflash 775TWTV2.10----> Flash succesfull.
Now i enter the bios, I wonder what has changed? I figured the fsb limit would be up, i see no difference in the bios. Could you explain please? ( did you mod this bios yourself?)

This bios has it's own SLIC it seems... I tried to follow someone's instruction in this thread somewhere for SP35P2 PRO which was close enough, but resulted in my PC becoming rather heavy paperweight for quite bit of time. :/
I struggled to recover bad flash and learned few things from there.. and found out the option for recent awdflash is bit off.. I should post there as well.
Any slic replacement is fine but Sony one is preferred if you can :D

It actually worked for some time oc'ed after i flashed it till yesterday (i didn't touch oc settings after reflashing though), when i modified some settings in bios. After that system refused to boot with any other frequencies but defaults, it just reboots in endless loop, so i loaded Chinaforever's F11 mod and only then it got itself back in business again. Hi ufa
Sorry to hear your mobo is dead, but I don’t think it’s anything I did.
I have analyzed the changes to your bios and the changes 911medic did, which turns out are the same. We both simply add ISA module to the bios.
Except, 911medic added one create by Tom1 and I added one created by muyu.
Both are good but I guest if the Tom1 works, its better.
Note: I never had a problem with muyu ISA module before.
I believe you simply had a bad flash or did not flash from dos,
or the bios EP45-DS4 F9 is not for your mobo, lol.
Please feedback
See what I did.
You added asus.rom......

I wasn't accusing:D just being sure, ya know:cool:
At any rate..I will double check the bios..do you have acpiscope installed?
.ats file is better than everest..also clearing cmos and resetting defaults sometimes makes a slic appear?
here is the bios tools=http://www.sendspace.com/file/hmd9ns
The dmiedit is in there, along with way too many others:D
DMISCOPE=http://rapidshare.com/files/68168395/DMIScope_1.00.006.rar.html
acpiscope=http://www.tssc.de/index.htm
Thanks for the links.
Sendspace all blocked up - will try later.
Definitely cleared cmos - always do.
Willhave to tackle all this later tonight / tomorrow - once i get Vista installed.
Thanks

OK - i could go into a long winded response about XP SP3 ASUS OEM disk to redeem myself with regarding above comments... or i can just say.....
XP Activated.
Thank you.
The last patch did the trick.
You are the man.:D
Will check with Vista tomorrow, but taking a quick look with Everest under the current XP install, i no longer see a slic table present. There is a RSDT table entry with _ASUS_ and Notebook present, but no SLIC.
your right:o I got caught up in the slp and forgot the slic call..there should be a slic now, see if it flashes

Thanks 911Medic.... Yeah, I've already reflashed my BIOS with the unmodded file and all seems good.
I do have to request one more mod on this BIOS though... between the time you modded the "user ripped version", I was provided an "official" copy from an EVGA tech... so just to ensure there are no "unseen" errors I ask to have the "official BIOS" modded.

Hope this works, I simpley move the SLIC isa module higher than the protection module :D
