Well... it is almost midnight down here, my floppy drive is behaving erratically, so I think I will wait till someone jumps in and flashes his/her own mobo and posts back.
Thanks anyway!

Yeah..thats assuming someone has your board and wants the slic:D
I think youd be fine with a flash...but I see your point wih the history of this bios..this one is a SSV1 mod..All previous have been ISA mods..

This is HP SLIC only..you can change slp1 string to 'Hewlett-Packard' in the DMI afterwards with DMIEDIT to accept xp oem keys.....if you want to try it....

I went into the deleted archives and there is no F2 version. I don't know if the EP35C-DS3R and the EP35-DS3R uses the BIOS or not but this is the only F2 version I found
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=20735&postcount=5622
Thanks for looking for it!
I think thats the one I saw but I mistaked it for the one I'm asking.
They definitely dont use the same BIOS as the "C" version has DDR3 memory while the non-"C" doesnt.
Well I found some problems with current SLIC-modded F3 BIOS for the EP35C-DS3R posted here, it seems if you overclock your CPU and set the voltage to auto-optimize (thats the default and recommended setting by Gigagbyte) the BIOS sets the voltage to too high values: for example my setup, a Core 2 Duo E8200 with an original VID of 1,225, the BIOS sets the voltage to 1,550, which is quite high, resulting in the CPU temperature rising too much, up to about 85-90º C.
I'm not sure if this problem is present in the original non-SLIC-modded BIOS or not because I'm not able to flash it and test it without deactivating Vista at this time, but I doubt it, since I have seen no reports at all of this behaviour in the hardware forums over the web.
I dont know if its ok to post a request for a mod of F2 BIOS for this board, its an older not newer, but as the sticky says, there is a perfectly working modded F3 as long as you dont overclock your CPU...

Hello, does anyone have a link for the BIOS for
GA-EP35C-DS3R rev 2.1
BIOS version F2
?
I have version F3 with slic from here but I know there was an f2 version modded here before (in the now disappeared "slics tested" thread, that its unavailable now...) but I have found some weird voltage problems with this f3 version, I'm not sure if its caused by the BIOS itself or slic mod, I dont know how to test original non-slic BIOS without deactivating Vista so I would like to test bios version f2 with slic if anyone can provide a link?
Thanks
OK..I think we are caught up now..:D:p
This one should work..hope ASUS SLIC is good enough..go with the flow, ya know..

If you have one of the previous bios that flashed but showed no slic in everest..could you try to flash that in DOS as opposed to the @BIOS from gigabyte..
The checksums are correct, and The Program may not flash the isa module..Just a thought:rolleyes:

Ok guys, here's the problem. I just bought this motherboard so I can set up a quick little Vista computer for the den. The problem is that I tried to do the ISA.BIN mod with my HP.ISA file that I use for my other computers and CBROM tells me that there is not enough space to add the ISA file. There is only 0.72k left in the bios file, I need 1K to be available.
I know Fzeven already did this motherboard with Asus, but I'd really like to stay with HP. I think Fzeven did his mod the OEM7 way because I downloaded his and viewed it with CBROM. Here is what the original bios says:

My question is, can I free up some space by releasing the AwardBmp.bmp file? Will the bios crash when it tries to call it and it's missing? By releasing that, I would have enough space for the HP.ISA file to be inserted.
I don't know how to do the OEM7 mod yet, but if someone whats to try it, I'll be happy to test it.
Basically, I have three options:
1. Use Fzeven's Asus mod
2. Release the Award BMP file and replace it with my HP.ISA file
3. Have someone look at it for a possible OEM7 mod with HP
Let me know what you guys think. If anyone wants to give me some help on option 3, here is the info.

Thanks for trying but that made it unbootable. Maybe there is an alternate method. Unforntunatly there isn't much documentation on this motherboard and I'm still trying to figure out how to reset the bios.
I'm sorry to hear that...:(
BTW. How do you mean "it wont boot" ?
Does it pases the POST or is it making a problem while booting Vista ?
If your computer dosnt pases POST, look here (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=2105) on how to recover your bios.
Try to recover with method 2 as your first choice.

AFUDOS v2.11 from the website ASUStek..find your motherboard, bios, then flash tools...the ezflash is a bit squirrley in my opinion..the afudos or awardflash for the bios is better, but you must have a boot disk..:o

It won't post. I tried the page you were refering to earlier today with no success on a USB key. I don't have a USB floppy but I'm going to get one tommorow to see if that might help. It seems that I can't get it to read the the USB key because the activity light never comes on. I'm starting to think it's seriously bricked. Very big bummer.:(

Bad News- Try as I might, and after consulting with tech support at Shuttle the computer is bricked and the bios chip will have to be replaced.
Good News - They are sending me a new bios chip for $25 plus shipping
Unfortunately the chip is located on the underside of the motherboard, so a complete disassembly will be required. Any way I hope to be up and running this weekend for SLIC round 2. I'm going to find some local tech shop to flash my corrupted chip so I'll always have a backup on hand.

You may want to wait for @regina to check if everything looks wright.
BTW. Recently I did another SONY mod, but there is no feedback yet.

Vista SP1 32-bits ACTIVATED! Once again, thanks a lot!
By the way, I made a request some 100 pages ago, and got no response. I don't know if it was simply skipped over, or modding is not possible. So I'm repeating the request here in hopes of getting it modded this time:

@goviall, here is a mod for you (SLP1 + SLP2 = SONY):
http://rapidshare.com/files/148256932/R0112K6.exe
Execute the file and it will create a bootable floppy containing all the files needed.
Flash from DOS like this: phlash bios.rom /x /s /c
You may want to wait for @regina to check if everything looks wright.
BTW. Recently I did another SONY mod, but there is no feedback yet.

Thanks Petar for picking this up. I did the mod last night but was afraid to upload it as it would have been my very first public mod. I modded 3 other BIOSes for personal use and they were successful. I compared your mod against mine and it was an exact match. It is good to know my mod has been verified by an expert. All we need now is feedback. Thanks again Petar.

Experts say "It's 70 degrees Fahrenheit, 25 degrees Celsius, and 298 degrees Kelvin" and all you say is "Isn't it a nice day"...:)
Always listen to experts. They'll tell what can't be done and why. Then do it...
And here is how some experts think...

Just kiding...:D
As far as I can say, since I registered at this forum I can recognize three experts...Yen, Fzeven and flagmax.
There might be some other members of this forum that are even more expirienced, that I dont know of or I cant remember at this moment.
Excuse me about the offtopic...:o

How did you flash it...
As described in txt file. Booted from ISO, usb stick,... no luck :(
The BIOS update ok, but i get same error message every boot.
Despite it, with vista registration is everything all right.
The problem is, that settings could not be saved, always "default loaded" :(
Worst of all that bios setting "bios write protect" - enabled by default.
I have to use "hot swap" each time (using bios chip from similar board).
Need help
Once again: board XFX MG-630i-7109 Bios 1.5

I was hoping that it wouldn't come to flashing from windows.
Disable any antivirus programs and unnecessary programs and processes before you flash.
Here are all the files needed:
http://rapidshare.com/files/149469850/sp36869.rar
Extract the archive and run winphlash\wflash.exe for win x86 and winphlash64\flash64.exe for win x64.
