May not be bios..Heard this before with nforce boards..
reset cmos..reset cables in drives and you may have to disable raid..I imagine you have a raid in this machine..
I have heard of it being fixed by reseating RAM modules, reordering PCI cards, and turning off raid on the motherboard..Just some suggestions..

Ifndef, sorry to report that this mod did not work. I checked out the unmodified bios with everest and noticed that there is already a slic table in it. The signature is SMCSLPSUPERMIC, and as far as I know, there is no corresponding OEM cert file available. Yet..
Thanks for your efforts,
Doc
Try this one if you are still interested..Just a thought:cool:

Hello, all!
There is something wrong with this bios: Vista Service Pack 1 gets activated, but turns back to unactivated status. It happens when I put the system to Sleep mode. If I just restart the system or power it down, Vista becomes activated once again.
Please help me to solve this problem.
Also, I have got a newer bios version for this motherboard (r01-c02) but don't know how to patch it. Please somebody make a modded bios from it. I uploaded the file to rapidshare (see link below)

Maybe look here..Here (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=659&page=21)
For XP you need the oembios files and serial number..
For Vista..the matching cert..(provided) and a serial..
There are a large number of posts on these forums about both..I don't know where to start..;)

Try this:

SLIC = ASUS
Flash from DOS like this:
afudos /i0807.ROM /pbnc /n
Note. Downlaod afudos226 from the same site.
Tested and not working for me.

Any idea if it is possible to repair?
There is something wrong with this bios: Vista Service Pack 1 gets activated, but turns back to unactivated status. It happens when I put the system to Sleep mode. If I just restart the system or power it down, Vista becomes activated once again.
Please help me to solve this problem.
Also, I have got a newer bios version for this motherboard (r01-c02) but don't know how to patch it. Please somebody make a modded bios from it. I uploaded the file to rapidshare (see link below)
Motherboard Manufacturer: Acer
Model: Veriton G945MK
Bios Slic: Acer

The OEMBIOS files and Modify your DMI table with DMICFG or DMIScope. Dells are more difficult than others...You can put 'Hewlett-Packard' in your DMI table and use HP oembios files and serial (Even with a dell SLIC)..I have the pack of them if you do go that route, but you have to put the strings in your DMI......not as difficult as it seems:p

In my opinion, ACPIscope is better than Everest in situations like this because ACPIscope also provides a dump of the SLIC table instead of just providing the header like Everest does. In addition, ACPIscope is able to save the BIOS information so that it may be uploaded to be inspected by another member if needed.

The ACPIScope (http://www.tssc.de/index.htm) program will allow you to dump a picture of yor bios and allow one of the many gurus to pick it apart and offer help..:D
Given te structure of that bios..you may be relegated to using one of the Vistaboot bootloaders..there are a couple good ones that can update SP1..
If you go the boot loader route, reflash your bios back to the original.

Tried DELL not working :(. But HP works perfectly :). Now only if I can find a way to activate WHS I'll buy a second K45...

Hello! Could anyone on this forum help me with a modded BIOS for HP 530 so that Vista Ultimate can be considered as pre-activated. My HP 530 Notebook came with free DOS edition.
Secondly, how to check which BIOS my HP 530 Notebook has?
When I check for this information through msinfo32, I see as: " Hewlett-Packard 68MVU Ver. F.07, 3/18/2008 ".
Even during bootup, it does not show any information about the BIOS.

As I'm familiar your bios cant be modded at present time.
You can activate Vista using the new WoW patch:

Hi.
Mobo: abit kn8-sli
Bios: KN8_19 (Downloaded the modded bios from the link provided here.)
So I updated my bios with the newier one, as mentioned above.
I got the asus cert and put it in C:\.
I opened CMD and did this exactly: SLMGR.VBS -ilc C:\ASUS.XRM-MS and then I did this: SLMGR.VBS -ipk 6F2D7-2PCG6-YQQTB-FWK9V-932CC.
It wouldn't activate.
I believe I am doing everything right? I did this to one of my other systems and it worked like a charm.
Can anyone shed any light on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks a lot guys/gals. :)

Hey, thanks for all the help. Really appreciate that you do this service for all of us that need this kind of help!
I ended up just installing xp pro on that person biostar mobo.
As for this one, the KN8-SLI Abit mobo, I just used another program to bypass the activation. I just right clicked the authen patch on updates and hide it so I no longer had to see it. I got all the updates, sp1 for vista. Everything working good. But if I need to do this to this mobo again I will try another key. Again, thanks for your help, really appreciate it! ;)

No, you shouldn't do 3 modds at once - never :D
In your above mod you added the isa module to the wrong place, so do only the
following with new GBT bioses having the UTS64K.BIN module and forget about OEM7.
cbrom115 ep45ds5.10n /nocompress extract UTS64K.BIN
cbrom115 ep45ds5.10n /nocompress release

I flashed in windows, programmed all blocks and set all settings as according to that of the ECS website. It erased, programmed, and verified ok. Computer restarted, and then fans turn on and I get slow beep second apart.
Cant get into BIOS or anything.
I tried the BIOS recovery method for AMI bios listed here with a floppy...
http://www.biosman.com/biosrecovery.html
But this did not work.
I noticed I gave you older version. Newest version is http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/DownloadFile.aspx?catid=1&driverid=4125&areaid=2&LanID=0
Other one should have worked though becuase it's still for that board.

According to the AMI beep codes, 1 short beep = DRAM refresh failure. The programmable interrupt timer or programmable interrupt controller has probably failed.
I tried all methods mentioned at the link you gave me, and none would load the floppy. I pulled the ram out and no beep. I tried placing ram in each of the 4 slots, and none would work to boot floppy repair. Looks like this Mobo is toast unless you have any other ideas, I'll reorder another one.

AMI is different (fewer options to make work..IMO), maybe a little tricky (by my experience)..I think they are a bit more sensitive to flashing in windows..that is not the best way to do it for any bios flash.
I think if you get another board, you should flash from another modder..for comparison sake if for nothing else..I have seen certain bios mods not work across the board..no matter who does it.
I dont know if th flash from windows contributed to the failure..it did not help prevent it, for sure. There is a fair chance for failure with any flash..oem and mod..The manufacturer advises against it unless no other option for a reason..If it fails..your board may be toast:(:(
I am sorry for the failure..I have looked at the bios and I do not see a problem, but I may be missing something over and over..My best success is with award..the AMI is mixed..i think that goes for most of the people modding..;)
