Was a little bit complicated because flashing of the BIOS could only be done by DOS (and i don´t have floppy) But I created a bootable CD with the files and then flashed it.

Take a look with Everest if SLIC is present.
I assume you did import the certificate and used a proper slp2.0 key.

I was doing something wrong. Then, I installed the OEM certificate and the Windows Vista product key for ASUS. And now my Vista is working like a charm. It is completely activated. Hi cyclops.

MSI P35 Neo BIOS 1.5 doesn't work. Any bios upgrade fail in this motherboard. Every time that I try to put a BIOS version different from 1.1, it doesn't boot. So I create the rescue disk with the original BIOS (1.1) to get it works. I also tried to mod the bios 1.1 through AMI superstatic v3 automatic mod tool but the SLIC table doesn't appear.

So can you try to mod the 1.1 BIOS version?

activated fine had to do a bit of reading first though maybe have a how to sticky for us new to bios like disable uac and install slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\asus.xrm-ms and serial thanks again.:)

2) Copy both afudos and Asus_P5B-VM-0901.ROM_SLIC (rename to p5bvm901.rom) to the floppy disk.
3) boot up using the previous created floppy disk

Hey all :) Here's a request for a BIOS, SLIC'ed preferably with SONY code so that it matches the hardware. I have a SONY certificate file also, so yeah, a SONY SLIC would definitely be great :)

On my P5K board, the Fzeven BIOSes all work, while the ones I tried making myself using AMIOEMSLIC and the ones from Phrunt did not, so if Fzeven is up for it, that would be really cool ;) Btw, thanks for the SLIC'ed BIOSes for my P5K!

In the old thread, F11 was listed as modded by China4Ever and subsequently confirmed. However, another person in the thread mentioned later that it did not boot correctly. I verified this fact after flashing my own 7N400P2 Rev.1.0 with the modded F11. It will not boot any devices, but my computer works properly when I switch to the original F11 or F10.

Later in the old thread, Yen modded F10 for PeterV, and his Mod 2 was eventually confirmed working. However, his Rapidshare link expired. Can anyone please repost the Mod 2 of the F10 BIOS for the 7N400 Pro2 Rev. 1.x, or can someone take another crack at modding F11?

Argh! Seems I got myself an 11-inch brick now... Flashing went fine, I tried the original BIOS first, then the modded one. Both flashed succesfully, but after booting with the modded version, I'm no longer able to get past POST. If I leave the puter plugged in and/or the battery in, most times I can't even enter the BIOS. If I remove the battery, I can unplug/plug the power to enable me to enter the BIOS and make changes, but it seems that no matter what I do, I just can't get it to actually boot.

Any good ideas?

However, have you tried this BIOS revision already? In my case, my entire system becomes very unstable (also a P5K-E/WiFi-AP), both in XP and in Vista. For me, the 0602 version is very stable. This has also been modded,

I'd recommend that one. Also, when installing Vista, make sure that in the BIOS, your DVD drive is not using "AHCI" mode, but "IDE", otherwise the Vista installer will hang after reboot.

Ill couldn't use my regular editing tool on that bios, so i used a older one.
So it seems it didn't work, maby when the bios gets final my normal tool wil work again.

Hey, no worries, I read the disclaimer ;) Can't win 'em all. Anyway, thanks for the link, I just found some older ones which required not only an FDD but also a printer port, neither of which I have, plus some soldering. This new method seems much more promising. I'll do some more reading and report back any news.

However, have you tried this BIOS revision already? In my case, my entire system becomes very unstable (also a P5K-E/WiFi-AP), both in XP and in Vista. For me, the 0602 version is very stable. This has also been modded,

I'd recommend that one. Also, when installing Vista, make sure that in the BIOS, your DVD drive is not using "AHCI" mode, but "IDE", otherwise the Vista installer will hang after reboot.

Ill couldn't use my regular editing tool on that bios, so i used a older one.

My own thought is that it won't make any difference. If the BIOS code has changed with these betas then it's unlikely it will change back again if they ever become a proper release. It may just happen that after a period of testing they get released as final without any further work on them.

These particular beta's are unofficial, that doesn't mean they are second rate, in fact by all accounts they are very good and most places are recommending to use them. Abit though may never release them as a final version.

I don't know why 16b3 and 14b5 are proving difficult to mod, I've tried to find out, but it's beyond me! I'm grateful to have a modded BIOS in the first place, and will just have to be patient and hope a way to mod these latest two comes about.

Anyway, it will give us something to look forward to!

Fzeven did a mod for the IP35. The IP35 and IP35-E use the same BIOS, only the IP35 Pro BIOS is different. The user who requested it never got back with any feedback, so if you could try that would be awesome. Im getting this board for Xmas so I want a working and tested BIOS before I get it :)

A V14 Beta 5 BIOS would be desirable, but if the 13Beta Bios works fine, then Im all over it.

Hie, I have got some problem with my modded BIOS. After I flash the BIOS with the modded BIOS, I am not able to use my Ethernet port for connecting to the internet. After connecting to the internet,Initially everything is fine but after some time like 5 - 10 minutes, the speed goes on decreasing until the connection finally shuts down. After that I am able to ping all the websites but I can't load the websites. After flasing the IOS with the original ROM file, I have to shut to shut my PC for a day and only then am I able to load the webpages. Also Previously on the BIOS setup page, the model and serial no. of my PC would be mentioned but now the Model no. is Blank, Serial no. is 'NULL' and Product name is Asterope. These details have not appeared even after I have flashed with the oriinal 3.24 version .rom file. Please reply....

Isn't it so that with the flash you have to pass you're mac id.
Something similar has happen with the msi k8n neo2.
When the mac id isn't passed with the flash the ethernet wil not function properly.

I'm the guy who screwed his Sony VAIO with the bad Phoenix mod. I've been reading up on things, and there is some talk about the Phoenix recovery feature (that makes it possible to boot into a crisis floppy disk when the BIOS is fried like mine) being something that can be disabled or enabled in the BIOS file.

I took a look at the BIOS image for my Vaio, and under "Multiboot III", there is no asterisk next to "Boot Fail Recovery". Do you know if this means that the recovery option is disabled, and that I will therefore not be able to boot into a crisis floppy no matter what I do? I can't test it since there's no floppy drive in the laptop, and I don't want to buy a USB floppy drive if it can't be used anyway. I've made a bootable cd from the crisis floppy image, but I have so far not been successful in booting into it. But then again, I think it has to be a floppy anyway.

Sorry but bios can't be opended by phoenix bios editor and so I can't mod it. Maybe you could try to flash your original bios and then saving a copy using WinPlash program.

I don't know what to say, as I'm pretty sure to have modded it well. But, does BSOD happen after flashing bios or before ? It could be a winplash flashing issue.

Everything goes fine in WinPhlash, but as soon as it goes to write the new BIOS I get a BSOD.

i was on bios 1216 modded but when i updated to 1223, it deleted the slic tables.

Isn't it so that with the flash you have to pass you're mac id.
Something similar has happen with the msi k8n neo2.
When the mac id isn't passed with the flash the ethernet wil not function properly.

uma is for notebooks with integrated vga

I am having similar problems with a modded bios for acer tm4100 had fw 3a29 modded by Fzeven all worked perfect had latest vista fw 3a43 modded also by Fzeven but winphlash wont write bios gets to writing bios then i get error -144. Also tried with the dos bios flasher and get message bios not for this system message.

Could there be something hidden in the latest acer bios's stopping the flash?
