So I Replace the ASUS slic in my patcher with these?
This ISA modules are for award bioses only, you can replace the SLIC inside the module with anyone you like.
Make shure that the 8-bit checksum of the replaced SLIC and the overall ISA module equals to 00.
Use the iasus.bin for general use and iasus1.bin for GB boards with S3 issue.

Edit. Now I finaly understood your question.
In fact you are using the award auto patcher.
Well, introducing a new ISA module to the bios is just one comand.
cbrom bios.bin /isa iasus.bin

The manual mod is a deferent story.
You can find all about in the rtfm_Guide_Giga_v1.1 guide.
Make shure that you read all about the new quick oem7 metod which was introduced by @Yen.

@Simbalage22

You are still incorrectly using the "QUOTE" code. This causes a chain reaction of incorrectly quoted posts when others are quoting your post. Please read the link below and correct it. Thank you.

Auto patcer inserts an ISA module, the manual mod includes manipulating the ACPITBL.BIN.
Here it is all explaned:

Can someone give this one a try?

-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model: ECS GeForce7050M-M (V2.0)
-Bios revision: 08/05/30
-Bios Type: AMI
-Bios Links: http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Downloads/DownloadFile.aspx?catid=1&driverid=4016&areaid=2&LanID=9
-Bios SLIC = ASUS

Thanks in advance!

Update: I tried Method 1 - Easy Auto Method for AMI bios, and it ended up being a bad flash. I was able to recover tough. Any help will be appreciated!
Any chance someone can mod this bios? I noticed last time someone asked, there also no reply. Is it possible?

I kindly request:

-MSI MS-7204 (used in German MEDION MD8800 devices)
-1.0d
-Award BIOS
-http://rapidshare.com/files/134702653/MSI_MS-7204_Vista.rar.html

In the above mentioned archive, in addition to the BIOS file itself MEDION1.SLIC and MEDION2.SLIC are included. If it isn't too much to ask, I would really appreciate two modified BIOS versions with each SLIC information.

Thank you really, really much!

I'm aware that there's already been a similar mod (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=9395&postcount=7442). However, I've got three reasons for my request nevertheless:

The BIOS version 1.0d is superior to 1.0p. It is capable of adjusting the FSB and thermal settings. MSI/Medion have crippled those features in later versions.
The modified 1.0p BIOS (http://www.box.net/shared/z7fxqxf0f6) isn't available since days: "This user is out of bandwidth. Please email support@box.net for support or upgrade for more bandwidth"
Hey - it's a Medion labeled Computer and it deserves Medion SLICS, not an ASUS one! :)

OK, I can see that the SLIC is present and that its size is valid 374 bytes.
The OEM Table and OEM Table ID both in the SLIC and in the RSDT table are valid.
Although, without a dump there is always the posibility that there is a code in the bios that shadows a part of the SLIC table with zero bytes.
Which cant bee seen from the info you have provided.

However, have you tryed to activate with the cert I've provided you with, couse I see that it havent been downladed ?
Couse if it activates there is no need to mod the bios.

Just to be on the safe side before moding the bios please make a dump with HWDirect.

Install and open hwdirect, go to memory dump. Enter fff00000 without "h" and size 100000 without "h", press dump.
Right click into window, select all, right click again, copy. Paste as new file into winhex. (Open winhex and press Shift + insert key) Make sure ASCII-hex is selected. Save file and upload, please!/
To get Hwdirect to run under 64 bit, press F8 at startup and disable driver enforcement. This will last for one session only and allows Hwdirect to run.

If you have licensing problems with winhex use HexWorkshop.

When i run hwdirect it says "driver failed to load." Instead of using hp for the slic is there a way to change it to an asus slic? i will try the cert... thanks

great it worked :). Can u explain how u did this? I've tried and flashed 20 times or more. With no success. I used INTEL2AMI to extract bios from .bio to .rom. And followed the instructions on manual AMI. Any help so I can learn would be great. I know how to to Phoenix. but this seems weird. the tutorial they have converted sucks.

Thanks for the file, and thanks ahead for your your time

I have flashed my board twice with the version 1.5 modded bios done by Fzeven and it wont let me save my settings I change in the bios. When I restart the computer it gives me a checksum error message and will only boot if I use default settings and hit enter then it will boot until I restart then I have to do the same thing again.Vista is activated so that part is working correctly.I put the modded 1.4 back on and it works great,so It must be something in 1.5.Is there anything I need to do to get v1.5 to work properly.I have already reset the bios numerous times and unpluged it with the same results.

Thanks for any help!

FOLLOW UP- After doing a live update from MSI's websight to version 1.5, I flashed with the modded bios and it works perfectly. Thanks for the suggestions and help,it is much appreciated.

Sorry for such a long post, but its complicated...

Hello, i need a bios mod, now this may not be the place for it.
The mod i need does not concern activating vista etc.

I rewcently updated the bios on my laptop travelmate 6592g. I updated from ver. 1.25 to ver 1.52 , but after the bios update, the keyboard and trackpad have not been working right. I tried reflashing the back up bios made duringthe first flash, but winphlash only gives errors -

"Corrupted interface descriptors in the new BIOS file"
"Part Table Signature not found in the Interface
Error code:-161"

so i downloaded the bios ver. 1.25 from the acer website and tried to flash, it still the same issues. So after reading loads of stuff i cam to the conclusion that i need a certain bios revision, after reading loads.

i have noticed that after a certain version number- the bios has support to flash SST25VF080B, now i also noticed in later bios releases there is an update called KBBIOS/EC BIOS and its updated to version ver .50.

Now i suspect that the information i want to flash, so that the keyboard and trackpad return to their original state, is contained in that part SST25VF080B, which earlier version of the bios dont support for flashing, and later verision have the KBBIOS update already on it.

here is a section for the log for bios version 1.52- version after 1.32 have the ability to flash SST25VF080B.

Bios version before 1.32v do not support flash part SST25VF080B, but do not contain the KBBIOS/ECBIOS update. But version after 1.32.03 include the KBBIOS/EC BIOS Update that i suspect has cause the issue.

so i guess the easiest way is to get a bios version between 1.32 and 1.32.02- all have support for SST25VF080B (008E00BF) but critically dont have the KBBIOS. So if any one with an acer travelmat 6592g and have the bios 1.32, 1.32.01 or 1.32.02 please let me know.

The other option is if some can Mod the bios, basiclly decompile edit it, remove the KBBIOS/ECBIOS ver. 50 replace it with a lower KBBIOS/ECBIOS of a lower BIOS version number (e.g V1.25) which has KBBIOS/ECBIOS ver. 44.

i hope all this makes sense. I have gathered some programs, that might do the job, but i dont have a clue.

Yeah, i have i flashed from dos using phlash16, i phlashed back to original file, but nothing. In windows i used advanced settings and cleared checksum, and also to write zeros when erasing blocks. I just seems that the bios versions that dont have the KBBIOS update (which i dont want) unfortunatley don't support the flash part.

See documents attached.

I tested this mod successfully with NO issues. I was able to overclock with no issues and no checksum errors.

OK, I suggest you do the following:

1. Clear CMOS
2. Go back into the BIOS - Load Defaults, Save and reboot.
3. Flash with UNMODDED version of 1.5 from MSI using the flash utility included with the Bios
4. After flash, clear CMOS and reboot
5. Load Defaults, Save and Exit (Verify that you no longer have the issues you are reporting)
6. Download: AFUDOS utility 4.04 from http://www.tyan.com/tech/matrix_flashUtility.aspx and flash the MODDED bios WITHOUT /pbnc /n parameters.
7. Clear CMOS
8. Load Defaults and Exit.
9. Boot Normally

Tell us if this worked.

I did see the asus slic modded p5q BIOS...It's just that I needed Dell to match my discs for SLP 1.0 (w2k3) on the P5Q...when I tried the easy auto method, I got the warning SLIC already present. Using everest I see no slic, and when I tried to flash the easy auto method I got the warning boot block is damaged.

great it worked :).

I flashed it with the flash utility that comes with the clean bios update. Since theres no floppy drive on the machine and its the safest method. I also flash it back to the clean bios between each of your versions to keep everything clean and safe.
