You can flash your bios with or without the softmod, the flash procedure wont be afected.
After succesiful flash remove the softmod and you will stay activated.
That is, if the emulated SLIC and the SLIC from the bios are from the same manufacturer.
If not, all you have to do is install the cert acording to the SLIC in your bios.

thanks petar for your kind explanation, will flash it soon and report back when done:)

I cannot find 1102 on here so I guess it was never done. Apparently it's more stable than 1201 so I'd like to try it...

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Formula
BIOS revision: 1102
BIOS Type: AMI
BIOS Link: http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/Maximus_Formula/MAXIMUS-ASUS-Formula-1102.zip
SLIC: ASUS

Thanks to the modder who does this :)
Try this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/125816111/MAXIMUS-ASUS-Formula-1102.zip
SLP1.0 + SLP2.0 = ASUS

Flash frm pure DOS booted from Floppy, USB Stick or CD/DVD.
After you create the bootable media check for cofig.sys, and if present deltete it.
Flash like this:
Afudos.exe /iMAXIMUS-ASUS-Formula-1102.ROM /pbnc /n

Link to AFUDOS:
http://rapidshare.com/files/123979630/AFUDOS.rar

Note. I've provided you with a flash tool.
If you have a tool provided together with the bios from ASUS, use that tool instead.

Hmm, too bad. I feel really sorry. I've checked my mod again. There is no error. I couldn't know before that it leads to that issue, of course. This bios is picky.
All other Gigabyte bioses so far were easy to modify.

No worries! Anyway Gigabytes implementation of the dual bios feature is poor, and quite useless in some ways. There is no manual way to switch to the backup bios (using a jumper for example). This is an example where the bios got corupted and does not boot properly, yet there was no switchover to the backup bios and the result is a dead board. (EP45-DS5). Please remove the moded files thx.

Link is removed. I've PM'ed about this mod with Fzeven. He suggested to move up the Acpitable to its original position and remod a OEM7. To try a ISA2 and ISA3 before is useful as well.
But I don't know if you want to try it again when you've got a replacement board.
Just wanted to say with this that there is a method to try if somebody is still interested. Bricked boards make us to update the methods.....This information is probably useful for the other modders as well.

Have a nice day. And thanks for your understanding.

Hi Petar,

I try to activate with x86 but it's doesn't work.
I flashed the bios, install vista oem 26 in 1 chosen DELL,
add cert file and add key xxxxx-932cc, it's can't activate,
now 3 days remainning...

Is that must only activate with x64 ?

I will finding x64 to try again or have you suggest ?

Thank you.

Can you please install ACPI scope and open.
Go to File-->Load ACPI infromation-->From BIOS.
Save it as *ats file and upload so I check if SLIC table is present, couse I double checked the mod and everithing looks wright.
The mod should activate both x86 and x64.
As I can see from the seril you enter, you are trying to activate Vista Ultimate, wright ?

Hi Petar,

Yes, I trying to activate the vista ultimate.
This is the ACPI information. http://rapidshare.com/files/125232859/absix.ats.html

Hi Petar,
I install vista again, but can't activate as same.
Will I re-flash the bios using backup bios file then flash bios again with new mod ?
Thank you.

You dont need to restore your original unmodded bios.
You can flash directly with this one and use the backup file as dumy file.

Take note that flashing under windows is risky couse a lot of things can inerfere with the flashing process.
Flash the same way as you did the last time from widnows, turn off all unnecesary programs.

I think to re-flash the bios with original file and mod again using new SLIC sush as _ASUS_ will be simplier ?

Try to rename the bios mod file to a shorter name. E.g. mod.rom. Then try again from pure DOS. (Replace *.rom with mod.rom, of course)

First time i think that this bios is a joke because there is nothing to set(except time, date, boot order and HDD compatibility mode..oh yes and password). But there isnt any newer version :(

I need a real bios where i can at least turn on/off unused ports or perhaps set a fan speed(or change fsb and so on, i have pretty tuned cooling on this NB)

If anyone can help mne, please do it :) Thanks

Excuse my english.

I tried this mod without reading any further ahead in the post. My board now has a 5 beep post error. Ctrl-Home on boot with the amiboot.rom on a floppy does nothing. Clearing the cmos does nothing. The floppy has constant access, with an occasional read change noise. There is a single beep on occasion, then 5 beeps, repeat.

Any ideas? I wanted Dell because I have all original Dell OEM media (I buy Dell's for a living). Appreciate any help, TIA.

I downloaded the latest bios from ecs, put it on a floppy and renamed it to amiboot.rom. Boot up the computer while holding down CTRL-Home, no video, not happy system. Booted up without holding down anything and it started behaving and loaded the bios, back up and running.

I too have had no luck.....
Can we get this board working? Very NICE Boards....
Hey does it have anything to do with kicking it into ACPI in the BIOS for HardDisk? I seem to have read this somewhere on another

Just a Thought, as I REALLY want the board to work.

Hi,

The threads, SLICS TESTED and SLICS NOT TESTED are now fully up to date.

If you are looking for a BIOS with a SLIC tabel inside please look first in
SLICS TESTED and when your BIOS is not there please look than in the thread
SLICKS NOT TESTED.

If you can't find your BIOS also then make a request on this place.

Thanks

I will try again with XP as my Source, currently have VISTA with ASUS Loader as source... Does this Hurt? when Flashing in Vista? I get no errors but when I reboot & load defaults... I get the Invalid Checksum Error 51
I noticed flash is 1 meg, the ROM is 8meg, after I flashed the bios, I could still use the board, boot into Vista & reload the eVGA bios, everthing is back to norm, but seems like they have some sort of backup rom going on? within the same chip? grabbing for straws here....

Cant extract the bios from the packadge.
You may want to try extracting it from the RAM like this:

Install and open hwdirect, go to memory dump. Enter fff00000 without "h" and size 100000 without "h", press dump.
Right click into window, select all, right click again, copy. Paste as new file into winhex. (Open winhex and press Shift + insert key) Make sure ASCII-hex is selected. Save file and upload, please!

If WinHex doesn't works for you, try using HexWorkshop.

When you run the dell bioses updater they extract files to a folder in USER\Appdata\temp\

in mines there was 4 files WinFlash.exe, FoxAwdWINFLASH64.sys, FoxAwdWINFLASH.sys, and 713D1P46.BIN

P.S. just run the updater dont update then go to temp folder and grab the files because when you exit the program it removes the files from temp.

I have different bios but hopefully dell have done them all the same way.

Try this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/127150752/motherboard_bios_ga-965p-s3_f13k_beta.exe
SLIC = ASUS

Flash from pure DOS booted from Floppy, USB Stick or CD/DVD.
Flash like this:
flash895 965PS3.13K

or run flash.bat

don't work ! not activated

Tryed to extract it that way already, but it didnt worked.
I'm geting an "unexpected error" and been asked to restart and try again.
Maybe the problem is couse my computer has a diferent flash part.

What about this..anyone please??? or am i unlucky to have dell:(

DELL bios are proprietary bios, so you can't open it without proprietary dell's tools.

You have a VOSTRO 1500 Dell, so SLP1 is already in your BIOS, all dell computer have SLP1 dell in bios.
After search on dell site, vostro dell 1500 have VISTA preinstall, so you have already SLP2 and SLP1 dell in your bios.

If you are looking for a BIOS with a SLIC tabel inside please look first in

After search on dell site, vostro dell 1500 have VISTA preinstall, so you have already SLP2 and SLP1 dell in your bios.
It doesn't contain any SLP info in bios...here is my everest report -
http://www.mediafire.com/?2zyx0dblfnr

When you run the dell bioses updater they extract files to a folder in USER\Appdata\temp\

in mines there was 4 files WinFlash.exe, FoxAwdWINFLASH64.sys, FoxAwdWINFLASH.sys, and 713D1P46.BIN

Using WinXP and i did the whole system drive search to find extracted files even using wildcard search but wasn't able to...it means this bios does things different way!

Cant extract the bios from the packadge.
You may want to try extracting it from the RAM like this:

Do i have to use both modes for it to work?

Well I Mod it and it litterally killed the Bios, I had to it replaced today as it's still in store warranty. So i'm not sure what step to take as normally on my other friend's computer i only had one file to mod and it work, but this one here it's 2 and not much instruction on what to do with them if i suppose to run both of them before reboot or do one and reboot and do the same for the other one.

Try this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/127410266/Z14ND06_SLIC.rar
SLIC = FSC (Cert included)

Flash from pure DOS booted from Floppy, USB Stick or CD/DVD.
Flash like this:
Rename the file Z14ND06_SLIC.ROM to Z14ND06.ROM
phlash16 Z14ND06.ROM /s /x /o

or run flash.bat
it works :D
