Sorry to hear that you can try this Bios Recovery procedure:

If you have a floppy drive you can try a bios recovery.
1. make a bootable floppy.
2. copy you're flash program (awdflash ) & bios to the floppy
3. create a text file, open it and add;

@ECHO OFF
awdflash biosfilename.BIN /py/sn/f/cc/r

4. Save text file as: autoexec.bat
5. Copy autoexec.bat to floppy.
Also look at this post for more help: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=20679&postcount=5
You can also search this forum for other bios recovery techniques, but unfortunately you may have to send it back. Sorry for your trouble.

BigErnM No trouble I have a replacement board on it's way back to me. I am a little gun shy about flashing the new one but I never give up that easy. I was using the flash utility in the BIOS do you think that was the problem? I have been building computers for years and this is the first time I have every had any problems flashing the BIOS I don't think it was your BIOS I think it has to do with the Gigabyte board I have always used Asus in the past. I should have the new board Saturday any recommendations on the flashing of this board? After doing some reading I found out the Gigabyte board has an advanced setting in the BIOS I think it is ctrl f1 to get to it is there any setting there for the BIOS flashing I should be aware of?

Thanks again,
Dean

Sometimes the built-in flash utilities can be problematic. I don't have as much experience with Gigabyte built in flash utilities, but I know that Asus EZ flash can often be the problem with bad flashes. I would try to use the newest version of Awdflash, or whatever standalone flashing program that Gigabyte has. It looks like for your board the program is Flash895.exe. Flash from Dos mode using a floppy or bootable USB drive. It could be a bios problem though because most people just run the autoexec.bat that comes in the bios archive and it flashes the modded bios with flash895 with no problems. You may also want to have a look at these bioses with HP Slic: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=25964&postcount=8526

Are you using the latest version of Afudos and flashing from DOS mode with a floppy or bootable USB? If you did, try this mod SLIC = ASUS, flash in DOS mode with newest version of Afudos using command: Afudos /i939DM22.20 /pbnc /n

Forgive me but I'm not sure what you mean by Afudos. I just ran the bios flash file from safe mode with command prompt. I guess I should make a bootable disk. What about the Afudos though?

Afudos is a bios flashing program, used mainly for ASUS boards, but will work on other motherboards. Try the flashing program that comes in the bios .zip file (ASRflash.exe) from dos mode first using a bootable disk with both of the mods I provided. Then try Afudos. Fzeven,
First of all I must apologize you for the issue on your mod for my MSI G33 Neo:

The board was now back from my repairer and I tried and verified your mod again confirming it worked!
They say that the IDE/SATA controller chip onboard was probably the cause.
(Now my bios rom chip has been socketed, though I have to get an additional chip for hot swapping)

Thanks again for your job.

GraceSlic,
Can you move my entry to the "Tested" list?

I'm sorry to hear that:(.
Earlier bios revisions of the P35 Neo got confirmed the rev. 1.7 is modded the same way as the earlier one's.
The G33 Neo is modded a different way.
Hope that you get you're board up and running again soon.

Have you tried this one?

A minimal boot system that forces booting from a diskette and overwriting of the bios as a result.
If your bios is of award you need to wait a couple of minutes after getting the power on instead pressing Ctrl + Home.

Not so long ago a 1.3 revision was posted here -
it didnt worked too smoothly for me, it worked fine for couple of days, then i had a couple of BSODs, and boot freezes...
So i reflashed to 1.4 and all is fine now

It shows my luck... I have never had any problems - not a single one- with bioses downloaded from here
They always worked perfectly and thanks to you great ppl here most of my friends and neigbours are enjoying "benefits" of Vista for free ...
But when I decided to do it for myself...
I hate Vista
It just shows you> if you hate something, it hates you back...

Tnx in advance, take care.

I use awdflash in dos mode as usual bios update normal no errors, restart black screen fans in full speed, in the back panel lcd of the motherboard it say "code init" and do nothing. I dont undestand all the others times everything went very well.

Is there a recovery for award bios?

Continue the great work.

I had the same problem. Working fine after clearing RTC RAM as explained in the manual:

1.- Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
2.- Move the jumper cap from CLRTC_EN from pins 1-2 (default)
to pins 2-3 to enable the CLRTC function.
3.- Press down the clr CMOS button and again to release it.
4.- Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer.
5.- Hold down the <Del> key during the boot process and enter
BIOS setup to re-enter data.
6.- Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
7.- Move the jumper cap from CLRTC_EN from pins 2-3
to pins 1-2.

Try this SLIC = ASUS, flash with: Afudos /ixxxx.rom /pbnc /n

http://rapidshare.com/files/113592136/P5KEPU0501.zip.html

I'm sorry to tell that this bios is not work.
After flash the modded bios, Vista cannot start normally and got a BSOD and reboot when the vista reboot!

I had used the provided parameter for the bios flash "Afudos /ixxxx.rom /pbnc /n" and retry sereval time but still fail to make the Vista boot.

I cannot tell the error message on the BSOD as it go out very fast then the system reboot!

Try these alternate mods, SLIC = ASUS, flash using the same Afudos commmand. You will have to rename them and remove the _SLIC string after the filename before you flash.

It's modded like the previous one.
what you first can try to do is clear the cmos, second try to boot to see if it helps.
If that doesn't work try holding down "TAB" key while trying to startup.

I have complain to asus support desk, about bios 1504 that as broken my motherboard. Now i have look in download area of asus bios for the striker extreme, and there is no bios 1504, only the 1503 that you have made and was workings very well, before the update to 1504. The problem never was your modded bios, but like we see (the removing of the bios 1504 from the download page), more people must have had problems with this update bios.

Continue the great Work Fzeven.

Thanx for you're info.

Bit of an interesting one...
Used a modded bios to activate vista twice at home now,
but the third is proving troublesome.
Its a Dell Vostro 200 MT
I believe it has a Foxconn G33 M02 motherboard but this is my problem, i'm really not sure. I used Everest to try and determine its manufacturer etc. and all i got was (713D1S34) 1.0.3-6A79O009C-00 (Socket 775)
This means nothing to me however it may do to some of you.
I know that it's running Phoenix - AwardBIOS (12-Jul-2007)

Those details again:
Dell Vostro 200 MT
Foxconn G33 M02 motherboard (Supposedly...)
Phoenix - AwardBIOS (12-Jul-2007)

If someone could maybe help me out here it'd be greatly apreciated.
I understand that it may not be possible to create a modded BIOS for this particular PC but maybe if someone could give it a shot?

Many thanks in advance

Try flashing the .rom file in DOS mode using a floppy or bootable USB with phlash16 using the commands: phlash16 /x /s /c /mode=3 /BBL AG1A-106.ROM

Hi BigErnM, I try this in DOS (boot from Win98 Dos image CD boot, my Laptop does't have floppy and does't allow to boot from USB in BIOS) and it said: Platform Signature not found in the interface, press anykey to reboot. Pls help me, thanks.

Are you using the Phlash16 that comes in the Archive? You can also try flashing the .wph file with that command line I gave you before. Or try flashing the .rom and .wph file with this command: phlash16.exe /x /s AG1A-106.ROM or phlash16.exe /x /s AG1A-106.WPH

Here is a link to make a bootable USB drive, it should show up in your bios options if you make it correctly. It will show up like a floppy drive.
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=1812. If none of that works maybe someone else can help you.

Yes, Iam using Phlash16 in the Archive. I had used the .wph file and it flash successful but when reboot my laptop it apears big Acer Logo & Intel below and at the bottom line is: press F2 ton enter setup. My Laptop hangs, even try to press F2 and it said "Entering setup..." and continue to hang.

Iam using my Desktop here now, please help me. Thanks

About the USB boot, My Laptop is not show :Boot from USB in BIOS (only three options: HDD,FDD,DVD/CD) so I think it will not work even I make my USB bootable.

About the USB boot, My Laptop is not show :Boot from USB in BIOS (only three options: HDD,FDD,DVD/CD) so I think it will not work even I make my USB bootable.

For the USB it will make a new entry HDD,FDD,DVD/CD, (Whatever the name of your USB drive is). At least that's what my bios does. Try flashing the .rom file instead. Be sure to clear your CMOS before and after flashing, that can help. To clear CMOS add the following flash command /pf=cmos. Phlash using those commands before but also add the new command so: phlash16 /x /s /c /mode=3 /BBL /pf=cmos AG1A-106.ROM or phlash16.exe /x /s /pf=cmos AG1A-106.ROM. Those are my last ideas. Good luck. If none of that works please see the techniques in the bios recovery sticky thread here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=2105

He can also save the files needed for the flash on his hard drive and boot from CD/DVD with SATA support, as described in the link you have provided.

Maby when you use live update there is a option to only save the biosfile to disk.
Otherwise use afudos to backup you're bios.

dude the BIOS is available for download on the dell website.. maybe u should link it..

Thanks very much for the info, i really have no idea why i didn't look for it on the Dell website, should've been the first place i looked really.
Sure enough i did find it on there. Details as follows:

- Desktop Model: Dell Vostro 200

- BIOS download link: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=248665

If for whatever reason the above link doesn't work then the original can be found in the 'BIOS' section of the Dell Vostro 200 drivers page. From this page you can also access pretty much all the information about the machine itself if necessary:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=VOS_D_200&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

If any of you guys could possibly try and have a crack at this one it would be greatly apreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Thanks for the help so far, i think i've got enough information to put forward a proper request now although i'm still not sure about the manufacturer of my motherboard:

-PC Model: Dell Vostro 200
-Motherboard manufacturer: Not sure, cant find this anywhere... (Possibly Foxconn G33 M02 motherboard)
-Bios Type: Phoenix - AwardBIOS (12-Jul-2007)
-BIOS Revision: 1.0.3
-BIOS SLIC: Dell (Currently licensed OEM Windows XP)
-BIOS Download Link: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=248665

Any other details can be found from this page:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=VOS_D_200&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

If anyone could try and mod this one for Vista OEM Activation it would greatly apreciated.

Thanks alot for the help, my big problem now is how to restore my BIOS because when I turn on the laptop it appears the Acer logo and stop forever, nothing else happen but only Acer Logo screen.

I don't have a USB FDD, My Laptop does't allow to boot from USB in BIOS so what I can do is to put all recovery files in a Bootable DVD (to boot from this DVD) and try the tricks but no success till now. Fn+B, Fn+ESC, Win+B, Win+ECS are all tried but don't see it works for me. :(

Does anyone have an idea?? Pls help, thks.

Your laptop supports USB Floppy..
Look at this site:
http://store.acer.com/product.asp?pf_id=10240375
You can find your model on the horizontal list of USB Floppy supported Laptops.
What this means is that you will need a USB Floppy drive to be able to recover your BIOS.
You dont have to buy the floppy that is displayed on this page.
Any USB Floppy will work for you.

Thanks for the help so far, i think i've got enough information to put forward a proper request now although i'm still not sure about the manufacturer of my motherboard:

-PC Model: Dell Vostro 200
-Motherboard manufacturer: Not sure, cant find this anywhere... (Possibly Foxconn G33 M02 motherboard)
-Bios Type: Phoenix - AwardBIOS (12-Jul-2007)
-BIOS Revision: 1.0.3
-BIOS SLIC: Dell (Currently licensed OEM Windows XP)
-BIOS Download Link: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=248665

Any other details can be found from this page:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=VOS_D_200&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

If anyone could try and mod this one for Vista OEM Activation it would greatly apreciated.
SLP1 and SLP2 preferably.
As mentioned above, Dell SLIC if at all possible, but if not then any other will be great.

Many thanks in advance :)

Try this SLP 1.0 and 2.0 = Dell, I included the winflash files that I extracted from the .exe file. You may want to flash with a newer version of Awdflash as the built-in Dell files might not like a modded Bios.

So another mod would be helpful, thx!

I just registered to request mod for my BIOS, so I don't spend another $200 only to overclock my processor. =/

Anyway, here's the info... giving all the details I know (taken from CPU Z program):

PC Model: Dell XPS 720
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Model: 0YU822 A00
Chipset: Nvidia nForce 680i SLI SPP Rev. A2

BIOS

Brand: Dell Inc
Version: A05

It's for Windows Vista Home Premium (activated).

Here's the link to download this BIOS:

http://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/XPS720-A05.EXE

So can someone help me out? Please mod it, so I can start overclocking. Thanks!

This bios mods are not for overclocikng.
Moded bioses on this forum have only SLIC insterted in them.
SLIC is just a set of strings and would not change anything what is concerned to overclocking.

Read here for more info about SLIC:

Hi,

I did not find a working BIOS for my GA-P35-DS3L that does not have the licence lost after S3 sleep, so I decided to make one myself. Works on my v2.0 rev board but should be fine on v1.0, too (both revisions share the same BIOS).

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
BIOS Revision: F8f
BIOS-Type: AWARD
SLIC: ASUS
Method used: CBROM182.EXE Standard Method 1/4a with new IASUS.bin from http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=22157&postcount=38, credits to Yen, Fzeven and TOMMIY :)
Link: http://www.megaupload.com/de/?d=HCBVWV0M

Mini-Howto: Install @BIOS from the Gigabyte website, use it to back up your old BIOS (USB stick works best and fastest, but be sure to use FAT32 file system). Then choose the unpacked file, flash and reboot. Clearing DMI/PnP is not necessary. Then install ASUS.XRM-XS cert and active the edition you like.

Please send me a short notice if it works or does not work.

Greetings

SLP1= Did not activate, that could be because of wrong key or I made my disk wrong for MSI oem.

SLP2=Activated

I just found out the cert that I downloaded from oembios.net are for MSI-2831-MS, MSI-PenNote, MSI-PC. Could you please change the slic to one of these. I don't have the filesneeded for megabook. Thank you and I apprecate your help in this matter.

Hi modders:)

I have a request....
I'm doing some overclocking on my xfx 680i lt board and I've been reading in several forums that the regular xfx 680 bios works better but there are mixed results with several versions of the bios.

Would anyone here do the Asus slic mod for me on these 2 versions of the bios?
