Try this, slic = Asus, appreciate you're feedback.

http://www.box.net/shared/0wa35zo0sc

I've tried but it seems that this is the wrong bios, afudos utility failed with ROM file ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID

The original bios file can be found here, it should be version 0605

I'm going to see if I can RMA it for repair. I think that if it had NOT programmed the boot block I should have been able to undo it. I'm not sure as I am pretty new at this. The DOS flash tool won't work under Vista CMD window so I had to use the windows programming tool. Even though that is not the best idea, it was the only one I had as my HTPC is not equipped with a floppy drive. I couldn't find a good USB boot image either. Perhaps someone that did have a successful flash can post somewhere how they did it and if it all worked well.....? thanks!

Has anyone here had success moding the ECS A780GM-A mobo? If so, I'd like to know how you did it. thanks!!

Tried and worked!! I was a little worried since the rom file was about a 100kb less, but flashed, upon reboot, i show activation!!! I believe i selected the asus option in vistaloader that is why the certificate and key is already installed :) Just curious is it a static, superstatic, or dynamic? Just in case micro$hit ever starts taking ppl out i know what i got lmao.

You are wonderful and i really do appreciate you taking the time to do this for me. Thank you again.

You could try moving the ASUS Isa file into the same directory as your bios and name it iasus.bin, although the name doesn't necessarily matter. Then add it just like you did before so there won't be a long directory tree with the ISA file. Have the bios and iasus.bin in the same folder and use the command: cbrom A7V8X-LA.BIN /ISA iasus.bin. If that doesn't work then you can try adding it as an ISA 2 module as described in the mod your own bios sticky using the same prinicples as above. Make sure you are using the Zhaoliang ISA module or newer and not the older muyu module.

Use the original Bios file and add this ISA Module

http://rapidshare.com/files/111635700/iasus.bin.html. Or take the one you uploaded and first release the ISA module you have now by using cbrom A7V8X-LA.BIN /ISA release and then add the file I uploaded using the instructions in my previous post. It adds in to the bios just fine when I use those commands.

Ok Bob, looks like you are having a rough go with this one. Take the bios you have modded in the picture and release the last 3 items. Use cbrom A7V8X-LA.BIN /SLPkey release. Then cbrom A7V8X-LA.BIN /SLPmarker release. Then cbrom A7V8X-LA.BIN /ISA release. That should leave you with just one ISA module. I have tried to explain it as best I can. Read my 1st post closely. Take the ISA module I uploaded and place it in the same directory as your unmodded original BIOS file. Then run the command cbrom A7V8X-LA.BIN /ISA iasus.bin. That is the only command you need to run. After that you are done. You don't need to use the SLPkey or SLPMarker commands. You should end up with just 1 ISA module at the end of the list ISA ROM [1] iasus.bin. Give that a try. You'll get it eventually.

Hello. Can you guys mod this one?

-Motherboard: ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE

-Bios Type: AWARD
-SLIC: with ASUS SLIC
-Bios Link: ftp://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socketAM2/M2N-SLI Deluxe/1502.zip

With previous bios, I moded them with this method:

cbrom biosname.bin /Slpkey bbpubkey.bin
cbrom biosname.bin /Slpmarker bbmarker.bin

But with 1502, I can't :( When I try to insert bbmarker it says there are not enough space or something like that  :(

Do you guys have other alternative method or some solution? Thanks!

Thanks for putting this section for those to experiment with the bios activation.

Now I have a question or 2.

I have look at the bios information ya guys have posted as tested.

Now I see this Bios Activation
M2N-E
ASUS M2N-E 0802 (ASUS) Modded By China4Ever Requested By lammas

Will this work with my board which is a
ASUS M2N-E SLI ACPI BIOS Revision 0801 04/25/2007

Now as for the serials that it uses , Can I add my own serials, I have a product keys to a legit Vista Ultimate , Now Im I able to used my own keys with this Bios Activation.

in other words, I dont wantto activate windows everytime I reinstall my Vista, Which is once a month, I used a ghost image , and it all works fine, but when the imaging finish , I have to reactivate again.

Will this help bypass the activation if im able to intergraded with the image file and my own serial, So that way I dont have to activate all the time ?

but if no is okay, But will like to know about the first question thought to see if is the same as my motherboard.

thank you all for your help and advice.:cool::)

Yes you can flash from DOS mode using a floppy disk, or bootable USB stick and flash with Afudos, which you can find on ASUS webpage or here: http://rapidshare.com/files/103240185/AFUDOS236es.zip.html

Flash with the command: Afudos /ixxxxxx.rom
where xxxx.rom = the name of the bios file you are flashing.

But there is one issue I was not sure is related to bios modding, but seems it is. When I turn on computer BIOS reporting the error "one of your CPU fans failed to initiate" and then waits for F1 to continue (fan is working of course). I have flashed back original Asus BIOS and I have tested machine for couple of days and didn't experience this problem! I have flashed back modded bios and again I'm receiving the same error. Computer working flawlessly except this minor issue. Do you think that this could be the modding problem?

Cheers!!!

AFUDOS is said to be an abbreviation for "AMI Firmware Update Utility for DOS" and usually used to flash AMI BIOS's.
For Award BIOS's can be used "AWDFLASH".
For its usage type "awdflash /?" from DOS booted from an MSDOS-bootable
diskette containing the flash program.

Mr. Fzeven
How is it possible NOT TO GUIDE US TO THIS POST ?

"HP protected the bios against the mod tool using a fixed OEM. (First AMI bios ever seen). This lock is usually found at some Phoenix bioses only

I've tried to unlock it:
http://rapidshare.com/files/110806289/HP507slpslic_UNLOCKED.rar.html"

where you added your own comments

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=25137&postcount=16

Don't you think you are supposed to help us, not to say "can't" when smb else can and you know it

If you don't see/know the difference between a AMI bios and you're one and think you know best,
then I have a Tip for you: go to a software store pick a Vista edition you like and buy it.

Yea I saw that one and another done in the past, but this new one actually has basically 0 free space, and those prior versions had quite a bit. Somebody else may be able to mod it.

OK, how about this version.. I believe it has some space according to CBROM: http://www.biostar.com.tw/upload/Bios/N56BA110.BST

That one has very little free space, also not enough to add SLIC, unless you want to lose something. I can try adding SLIC and removing the EPA logo if you want.

Thanks for the BiOS mod Fzeven and sorry to take so long to reply been busy with work and other stuff.

Ok here is my problem, the motherboard already has the latest update on it.

The question is wether I can re-flash with the motherboard with the mod one and what tools do I need to use to be able to flash this BiOS.

I have read some pages that people use a program called Afudos to flash their motherboards. Is that BiOS independent?

Sorry for the dumb questions but I don't want to kill my motherboard.

To refresh your memory this are the details that I have posted:
-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model: ASRock P4i65G

Hi, Yen...
Do you think there's still worth dealing with a guy like that any longer?
He checks up and throws all stuff to you modders trying to do nothing himself though that's his problem.
Neither does he try to learn anything (in fact he asked you for memory dimping!; any kinda memory dumping would make no sense unless done on his machine).

And you ask a mod for this board in the Kezforum.

It's modded like the previous one.
what you first can try to do is clear the cmos, second try to boot to see if it helps.
If that doesn't work try holding down "TAB" key while trying to startup.

Vista activated!! Thank you !!!

Cheers!!!

Try this remod, slic = Asus.

http://www.box.net/shared/dlxhk5m8s0 - THIS ONE DO NOT WORK !

OK! The first mod (Superstatic) working (http://www.box.net/shared/dlxhk5m8s0), but the second ISA remod, do not work. I tested motherboard intensively those days (this is the reason for such late reply) and in two occasions, it happened with original BIOS to get CPU FAN warning message. So definitely it is not your BIOS making the problem. I located the problem, so I can recommend freely the first Superstatic one!!! I have tested my machine rigorously and not a single problem!!!

Cheers and thank you!!!

None of those help, thanks Fzeven, tomorow i will purchase a P5K premium /WIFI AP to replace this one, and give it back to asus, because the person that as sold me this model doesn´t sell computer parts anymore.

Bad luck of mine (we all know that this can happen, so don´t worry Fzeven, i will ask you if you can mod for the purchase of tomorow the P5K premium /WIFI AP last bios).
