I've forgot to mention that mod1 must be flashed with afudos.

If you already flashed it in that way then it is not working.

I have tried various methods on trying to get this thing to get Vista. I have downloaded the (ASUS P5LP-LE)
HP (ASUS P5LP-LE) 3.17 (ASUS) Modded By XBIOSES Tested By pei boy bios and tried to run it while using the windows temp file trick and nothing works, even reverting to the original bios didnt work, it would change the bios, but didnt see slic. I would rather not emulate a bios. Any help or modding would be great.

Yes it is a modded bios, you can flash with it. Just replace the one that comes in the bio746.exe file with it. I updated the links above with the other files included now.

I don't know where all the ASUS SLIC entries are coming from because the bios I gave you has an HP SLIC inserted in it. You may have some softmod still present on your system. You can run VOATKtools and try to remove it, or reinstall. I will mod it a different way. You also may not have gotten a complete flash. Also be sure that Bios is compatible with Vista. Maybe your board would do better with ASUS SLIC.

The SLIC is in there, now you need to import the ASUS oem certificate and input the ASUS product key for the version of Vista you are trying to activate. Look at the details here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=10784&postcount=3, look at steps 5 and 6. For the certificates, look at the top of the SLICs tested thread. There is a link with the certificates and instructions.

Tried the search but no matches for S32. Got a BenQ Joybook S32B. Phoenix Bios, latest bios v1.17 is here (ftp://80.252.92.142/digital_media/joybook/bios/jbs32/joybook_s32_bios_v1[1].17.zip). Thanks a bunch and sorry if i used the search the wrong way and this has been already modded. Bios is the same for both S32B ands S32W and any other S32 versions.

I think there is a option to turn that check off.
Look at the settings, or try afudos: afudos /i<biosname> /pbnc /n

You don't have to reflash in most cases.
Only on some bioses that where modded a while ago it can happen that XP must be reinstalled.

I want to know wheter or not i need a bios mod as it is impossible to extract the bios form the QBios installer BenQ uses (i've tried unshield in Ubuntu to unpack the cab's inside to no avail). My SLIC info is:

I want to know wheter or not i need a bios mod as it is impossible to extract the bios form the QBios installer BenQ uses (i've tried unshield in Ubuntu to unpack the cab's inside to no avail). My SLIC info is:

Memory Address 3F6DBE8Ah
Table Length 374 bytes
OEM ID BenQ
OEM Table ID Joybook
Creator ID LTP

BenQ S32B notebook with "phoenix" bios.

Do i really need a bios mod? I've tried putting a BenQ cert in the right folder on the installation medium and do a clean install of vista with integrated sp1 but it didn't work. Any answers, tips and ideas are greatly apriciated.

Hi Fzeven!
The first flash wasn't very successful. The flash failed and I ended up with a bricked BIOS...
Luckily it's an Award BIOS, which looks for a floppy drive when the BIOS checksum fails. The only problem was that I didn't have one...
So I borrowed a floppy drive and connected it to the controller. I had to make a boot disk which allowed me to do the flash without any manual intervention, because I have a USB connected keyboard. That doesn't work with a bricked BIOS.
The first attempt didn't do anything (hang) but the second one flashed the BIOS successfully with the flash code you provided. I had my motherboard back, hurray!!!!
I installed Vista Ultimate, started the Windows Vista Activation tool, selected ASUS (the tool also allows you to insert the Asus logo in your control panel, nice!) and activated Vista. After a reboot I issued the slmgr.exe -xpr command, which showed "This machine is permanently activated". YES!!!!

That is difficult to say without a acpiscope dump.
It looks that there is a incomplete slic, but there can be some code that complete the slic table, the RSDT table isn't right either.
I think there is only a very small chance that it can activate with out some kind of bios mod.
But beware that it might get bricked with a modded bios.

You need the certificate and a slp2.0 key.
You can try to remove the softmod with voatktools.

It is downloaded more than 10 times, most of the time the feedback is immediate when a mod is bad.
Are there any more that have bricked it?
