I tried it (1007 mod bios) and the bios updated already but Windows couldn't start up. The same situation when I restored the original one, just a black screen! Then I restored the 0901 bios with EZflash, Vista could start up as normal! I quite dont understand this? Thank for your great effort

Then you have to import the ASUS OEM certificate and change your product key to the ASUS OEM key for Vista Ultimate. Look at this post, especially steps 5 and 6 for instructions.

I know for sure that using afudos is the safest option but I dont a floppy drive. I often flash with EZ Flash or AsusUpdate with no problem. But with version 1007, it gets trouble. I just checked on Asus Support page and this lastes version 1007 no longer appear (?). Maybe it still has bugs and Asus took it away. Now I back to the mod bios 0901 made by you. It works fine!!!:)

There is a beta 1003 bios up there but i couldn't download it (timed out) on all the servers but what it fixes wont affect me (LAN from sleep mode).

Tried the AMISLIC auto tool and it said SLIC already present and I got two red lights :(, when i checked with MMTOOl and a hex editor i saw this:

SLICv....A_M_I_OEMSLIC and A_M_I_OEMSLIC WINDOWS (Never thought AMI made a SLIC :p)

When I edited the 1b and 06 modules then used MMTOOL it says Not Editable Module when trying to replace the DMI/SLIC tables?

XP SLP not too much of a problem as i think i can use a DMI editor to edit the Hewlett-Packard bit in (fingers crossed).

As always i will give feedback/observations etc.

Used the settings: Afudos /i<biosname.rom> /pbnc /n
Cleared the Bios with the jumper, reset to defaults, rebooted, then set up bios how i normally do for sata boot etc...
Make sure the ACPI 2.0 function is ENABLED for Vista in the bios or Vista wont boot properly!


Vista Status: Activated!! Vista Home Premium (HP) and SP1.:D

XP: Activated no problems.:D


When flashing it read ok, erased ok got to 35% flashing and paused for a long few seconds, carried on then verified ok. It also updates the bootblock So wait for it to finish!!

Strange SP1 been out a little while and its just downloaded 36MB of updates, probably to fix the cock-ups present in SP1 :p

Hi, Fzeven,
I finally got my mobo and made experiments with it.
It got bricked as a result, however...

First I tried the original unmodified one (rev. 1.7; simple update) and it worked (as an unmodified one, of course).
Second, wrote with the one (from rev. 1.7) for "G33 Neo" you made me and found the loading of the CD/DVD drive getting unstable (the drive was sometimes missed on POST or during installation of Windows).
Then I rewrote with the one (from rev. 1.7) for "P35 Neo" you made for someone else instead of writing back to the original because I found later
the both are using the same bios, and my mobo got bricked (only the
power supply and cpu fans working; plugging-out and in of the battery cell
and pwr supply did change nothing).

I could not currently try your another mod because the bios rom is directly soldered on the mobo and I've got to find a rom writing service and send the board to them.

Yes i know the mobo isn't there yet.;)

Hi, Fzeven,
I finally got my mobo and made experiments with it.
It got bricked as a result, however...

First I tried the original unmodified one (rev. 1.7; simple update) and it worked (as an unmodified one, of course).
Second, wrote with the one (from rev. 1.7) for "G33 Neo" you made me and found the loading of the CD/DVD drive getting unstable (the drive was sometimes missed on POST or during installation of Windows).
Then I rewrote with the one (from rev. 1.7) for "P35 Neo" you made for someone else instead of writing back to the original because I found later
the both are using the same bios, and my mobo got bricked (only the
power supply and cpu fans working; plugging-out and in of the battery cell
and pwr supply did change nothing).

I could not currently try your another mod because the bios rom is directly soldered on the mobo and I've got to find a rom writing service and send the board to them.

I'm sorry to hear that:(.
Earlier bios revisions of the P35 Neo got confirmed the rev. 1.7 is modded the same way as the earlier one's.
The G33 Neo is modded a different way.
Hope that you get you're board up and running again soon.

It is what I suspected there is some code that changes the oem ID & oem table ID to something else, in this case p.
And leaves so it appear the XSDT entry out, the SLIC entry looks right now.
I can try something else but it is trail & error and could brick you're mobo.
So that is something to consider.

Busted my mobo, it doesn't read my ram anymore >,<

Getting 128 readable memory and 0 installed on it.

Two mods with Asus slic.

After flash enter the bios setup, load the setup defaults, change boot sequence set boot from LAN as first boot device.
If it doen't work try the other bios, same thing as above.
Let me know if it works.
