Finaly got it going. had a hard time tracking it down but the memory was the prolbem. I Didn't have enough good memory to check Vista but the ASUS XP Pro OEM disk worked Like a charm. all updated with SP3 RC2 and Auto Activated. Everest confirmed the correct SLIC table also. :D

what does mean vista with the comment? And what is wrong?
It means "Windows could not be loaded because the system registry file is missing or damaged". It usually means the registry is missing or corrupt. Here is an article with possible solutions. http://swatrant.blogspot.com/2005/11/windows-could-not-start-because_17.html. I would try the other bios first, and if that doesn't work Fzeven will be assisting you with all further mods on this particular bios because he made the inital mod.

Almost forgot.. Upgraded to Vista SP1 directly after flash to 1103. everything
is still working fine and returns activated from sleep mode.

No just kidding, you can use that to flash it, the other option is to use asusupdate for the flash but than you have more risk to a badflash.

Yes I saw that thread, I forgot to mention it in my reply, It sounds like your bios is having some of the problems he talked about. Here are 2 version of Winphlash64, you may need to double check the phlash.ini files to make sure the parameters are correct for your bios as these come from different manufacturers websites. I would be very careful using it because there is a fairly high chance that something bad could happen while flashing from Windows, especially when the phlash16 was already giving errors.

For now it works with sp1, sometimes it gets deactivated after the upgrade with sp1 but the reinstall of the certificate and key usualy gets it reactivated.

Fix:
Phoenix Crisis Disk & Original BIOS for Acer Aspire 5050

Note* You will need a USB floppy disk drive to do this

1. Download the crisis disk and the bios from here

2. Unzip them

3. Run Crisis.exe which starts the winimage self extractor. Be sure "Writing on Floppy" is selected. Click OK. This will create the crisis disk for you.

4. Delete the bios.wph file on the floppy disk. Copy the bios.wph file from the zip I provided to the floppy.

5. Unplug AC, take out battery from laptop

6. Attach USB floppy drive to laptop

7. Press and Hold “Fn” and “Esc” buttons together, then while holding down said buttons, plug in AC and turn on computer.
--->A. You should still be holding “Fn” and “Esc”

8. The power indicator light should stay lit up

9. The USB floppy drive’s indicator light should be lit up and assessing the Crisis Disk (can hear it working)

For ur info the notebook is dead again. I think i will stop it. After recovery using the notebook using cysis disk i flash the original acer bios (without mod) provided and it work. I think the acer bios don't like to be modded. to bad!!!

Normally Acer is a good moddable notebook, only not in this case.:(

If I check the modded bios with "everest" I see that the RSDT: OEM TABLE ID is maybe wrong... there is written SLEC-MPC is that correct or should be SLIC-MPC ??? (see attachement)

when I open the bioscod1.ROM file with WINHEX the RSDT after string seems to be correct. whats went wrong?

About the SLEC issue:
The original OEM Table ID is 09EC. There must be a code that copies the "E" found always at offset 12h into the other ID'S . The solution could be to change it to "I". There are several places to try.

Found places: At BIOSCOD1.ROM, offset DFD3. At BIOSCOD2.ROM, offset 3915. At MOD_5100.ROM, offset 19

The first and the 3rd place seems to me worth to change. Should we try step by step or both together at once?

BTW: found an other interesting place: BIOSCOD3.ROM, offset 2397 (EC only) let's try this first alone.
