The notebook chipset 945 can use a max of 2048 mb of memory, but only 965 chipset can use 4096 mb of memory, but if you use a 32 bit system the maximum of memory that the software can use is 3072 mb, only in 64 bit system you can use 4096 mb or more of memory ( ex: windows xp 64 bit or windows vista 64 bit ).

We don't do that kind of mods overhere.

hi Fzeven m8 just to point out the orig requester did not mention this is a beta m8 but it works fine using awdflash and not the poxy onboard silly flashing tools gd job once again m8

NOte too all requesters if you request a bios then the least you can do is report back on it!!!!

1. Does it need to be /iFILENAME.120 /pbnc /n ?
2. Can i skip the bootblock overwrite (using /pnc /n) because the same (unmodded tho) bios is allready on the board?
3. What does the /i do? i got afud408 with the package, help doesn't adress the /i switch

I have modded my bios with http://www.box.net/shared/p46v8gpwkk. works fine
with vista ,but when i upgraded to vista sp1 and resume from sleep vista is deactivated if i reboot it will reactivate, is their a solution for this. I would really appreciate any help.. excuse me if i am posting in the wrong forum , I am new.

I wonder if someone can help me. I have an Acer TravelMate 2420 Notebook. It has a Phoenix bios, I have been trying to get a SLIC bios for the laptop but have had nothing but problems. I get errors when I flash a bios I had done for me last year, I had to go back to the bios on the Acer website.

Here's the info in case someone wants to take a crack at the bios.

Model: TravelMate 2420

Sorry for the long delay in feedback. There seems to be a problem which only showed up after the 30 day grace period silently elapsed. Vista is now refusing to activate (seemed fine before). My Linux dmesg may have provided a clue:

ACPI Warning (tbutils-0217): Incorrect checksum in table [RSDT] - 85, should be A9

I think this checksum error in the RSDT table might be causing my problems, I'm not sure. It did appear to activate correctly, but is now giving activation errors about not being able to access the system BIOS correctly after SP1 install. When I initially activated, I was running the older P31 BIOS, same mod. Now it's deactivating on the P32 I got recently.

Because MSI's servers take forever at times, I've taken the liberty to upload this to rapidshare to reduce the time to access the file, seeing as you can wait 5 - 10 minutes waiting on MSI's links to connect at times.

I had tried the MS-7125 bios posted before, but that one does not work for me. The bios itself, I suspect works, as it will let me boot into Windows (have not tried it with vista to test OEM) however, I can not access the BIOS setup menu (i.e. Pressing delete at startup). It just flashes an underline, _ , indefinately. I beleive the bios modified before was for the PCB 1.0 edition of the board, and that's why it does not access setup correctly. I tried to modify this BIOS myself, but once I had looked inside, I noticed mine looks to be one where the table needs moved to a blank block in the bios, which i am not prepaired to do with my lacking skills in the area and risk bricking my motherboard. But if someone would modify this BIOS for me, I would test it without regret.

The 60x BIOSes aren't very good and don't have improvements which are good enough to switch from 502 to 60x.
I must send my board to the RMA of Asus because the BIOS crashed itself and the "Crashfree Bios" feature doesn't work :mad:

Sorry for the long delay in feedback. There seems to be a problem which only showed up after the 30 day grace period silently elapsed. Vista is now refusing to activate (seemed fine before). My Linux dmesg may have provided a clue:

ACPI Warning (tbutils-0217): Incorrect checksum in table [RSDT] - 85, should be A9

I've done some more testing and can confirm that the P32 is not working. I believe the RSDT checksum being bad is the cause. I downgraded my CPU and flashed P31, that activated fine. I updated back to P32 and Vista deactivates but doesn't nag, it's in the 30 day countdown mode again. I've put my E8400 back in, since E8400 running Linux is better than E6600 running Vista.

The BIOS linked seems to be modded correctly, a SLIC table shows up, but the bad checksum in the RSDT has Vista whining. If anyone can simply update the checksum, I think that is all that is needed.
