Hey brother doesnt work. I try updating using ASUS EZ FLASH.. I press alt+f2.

After i select your modded bios the program read the bios to check etc. and after it appears a red box saying its invalid bios etc...
but when i select the original, everything is perfect (I KNOW:p)

The same mistake's are being made with flashing of the bios.:(

There are some sticky's read them before make a request, there is some info that you need to know.:rolleyes:

It is adviced to NOT use ez-flash or any other build-in flasher, the same is for windows based flashers.:eek:

For Award use awdflash, and for Ami afudos with the switches /pbnc /n.:cool:

I have backed up my BIOS and having checked in everest I know it has a SLIC entry, however the entry shows oemid mstest. I thought I could modify this to show the asus slic by using cbrom219. I typed cbrom219 biosslic.bin /acpitbl extract into the dos window (run as administraor) (biosslic.bin is the name of my backup ios)but nothing happens (it just freezes). Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. I appreciate I am an amatur at this but I thpought I may be able to give it a go, however I am struggling. Help in words of one sylable would be helpful.

You did checked with Everset if there is a slictable present!
Not only trying to activate to see if it is working, in some rare cases some keys doesn't work or needs a clean install.

You can try a Ami bios recovery. take the next steps:

1. Rename the desired original BIOS file to AMIBOOT.ROM and save it on a blank floppy disk. e.g. Rename 12345678.ROM to AMIBOOT.ROM

2. Insert this floppy disk in the floppy drive. Turn On the system

3. If no floppy access occurs press and hold Ctrl-Home to force update. Follow insructions on the screen and it will read the AMIBOOT.ROM file and recover the BIOS from the A drive.

4. When 4 beeps are heard you may remove the floppy disk.

5. Restart the computer

I am flashing my system using Winphlash 1656 it runs through and backsup my bios and then when it comes to flashing the new bios it immediatially goes to BSOD, does not flash and restarts laptop. It mentions closeing down as fault detected to protect system. I have run a check on the memory nothing found. Could it be that I am doing something wrong when flashing or is it a setting on my laptop or bios. I am completely stuck I anyone can help I would be really grateful.

If the bioschip sits into a socket then you can order a replacement.
With the replacement you can hotflash the faulty chip.
Then you have a spare chip.
Otherwise it is a RMA.

no you can unpack the bios installer. I just installed a HP SLIC BIOS for a DV1660SE and installed it like 10 mins ago on my laptop. Send me the file you have ill get the bios out and try to get someone to mod it for you. (I can mod Award and AMI bios' but not PHoenix

You can actually flash the back-up, or causes that also a BSOD?

Fzeven when I try to flash the bios using the back up that also causes BSOD and dumps the memory. Any ideas?

Not knowing what kind of BIOS (Award or AMI or Phoenix) makes it harder for us to mod that thing. Can you poke around your BIOS setup and see who exactly makes your BIOS?

You did checked with Everset if there is a slictable present!
Not only trying to activate to see if it is working, in some rare cases some keys doesn't work or needs a clean install.

befroe this moded, all the moded will cause mainboard cannot boot (no any boot screen), no any chace into Vista to try activate or not, clean install and Everset , it was not OS software issued. that is firmware issued.

I just installed the real P5K 902 bios with afudos (version dated 11/23/2003) and it worked just fine.

I downloaded your above bios, renamed it SLIC0902.ROM, and ran

afudos /iSLIC0902.ROM /pbnc /n

and got 'EOM boot block is not valid' several times. Downloaded again, tried again, no joy. Please help.

Reports SLIC table as DELL instead of HP. Vista activates with both Dell and ASUS SLIC BIOS.

I've checked the bios and its HP.:)
Are you're sure it is flashed or flashed the right bios.;)
It will be not the first time it happend.
The only slic in this bios is HP.

Hi, I have been using SLIC BIOS 0703 and 0803 by China4Ever from this forum, on my P5N-E SLI, moded for ASUS SLIC, and them work fine.
Now, there is a new BIOS version, 0901, that adds compatibility with E8X00 Core 2 Duo, that I will buy. Can somebody mod this BIOS version for ASUS SLIC? (I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate x64 with Service Pack 1)

The backup isn't working that the reason the modded won't work either.
You need a original bios ( update ).

Yes, sir. I have actually flashed it about 5 times now and regardless of which of the two bios ASUS/HP I chose from the ones you sent me, everest displays SLIC table as DELL. The first time I flashed, it displayed ASUS, but now every flash I do it just displays dell.

I even went back to the original bios to remove all slic and then flashed again. Same result, it's only displaying dell in slic table now. Do I need to specify any options using phlash.exe?

RSDT says DELL at BFF70000h
SLIC says DELL
