Turns out that it was the program "AWDFLASH" and also "UNIFLASH" that was screwing up. When I tried using @Bios (Gigabyte's bios flashing program), it worked perfectly. Thank you very much Fzeven for making the Slic for me and also for trying to help me after it wasn't working for me. :)

OK, I just bricked my Asus crosshair mobo with 0804 modded bios.

I think it was down to the AWDFLASH switches I used and not
a bad bios since it was successfully used by others here. I followed
another guys' post, checked out the syntax (which seemed reasonable).

It bravely tried twice to re-flash from my original Asus dvd but
hung each time at 0FFFF. After a CLRCMOS its gone completely. :mad:

Can anyone please tell me the CORRECT Awdflash switch syntax
to use so I don't trash it again ? !! Should I have just used simply
awdflash 0804.bin ?

Unless I've overlooked it (been going cross-eyed from reading and
researching here over the last 2 days) I think it would be a great sticky
detailing the correct syntaxes for all the 'most often used' bios flash tools

the bios did not work,my ram are 2 G but new bios see 1 g and beep from mianboard begin start too.

Did you reset the cmos.
Did you flashed back to the original F8 revision to see if the error resolves it self.

Got a new CMOS chip now for the crosshair (Bricked it with AWDFlash and those screwy switches)

Flashed your 0904 BIOS from http://www.box.net/shared/58os8xdpnd
using Asus EZ Flash 2 in the BIOS setup screens.
Flash went OK but after re-installing Vista, adding Ultimate OEM key and Asus Cert, with full admin rights and disabled UAC I'm still NOT activated. Still in initial grace period.

Please advise if I did something wrong or missed a step !

Maby you experienced a bad flash.
I think you must only use awdflash without any switches.

Perhaps you're right about the bad flash, though thankfully I'm back up now with a new successful flash of the 0904 crosshair modded bios. The last one you gave me a url for.

It all went fine, fully operational BIOS features, correct POST etc..Everest shows the SLIC table under APIC but Ultimate will
not activate, gave me 26 days grace instead !!



Anyway.. Thankyou for clarifying the AWDFlash usage.. I had been reading conflicting opinions.

I have attempted to patch the GA-P31-DS3L F8 bios and it does not work, however the F7 bios patches without any problems. Have gigabyte modified their latest bios so that it can not be modified? I will try their F9 beta bios to see if it patches OK. Bios F7 is working, no problems encountered.

*.FJBIOS is spcial bios type from FUJITSU, it is flashed using specail tool named Flashaid supplied by FUJITSU.
there may be some encrption info in FJBIOS file,I can not do anything to add slic table to this file, can anyone help convert this *.FJBIOS to ROM or BIN type?

I also backed up my BIOS using Phoenix Winflash, but there may be some problem, because I didn't find the original BIOS backup which is ROM or WPH type. When i use Phoenix BIOS Editor to extrct the file(BIOS.WPH), it alerts erros.

I have attempted to patch the GA-P31-DS3L F8 bios and it does not work, however the F7 bios patches without any problems. Have gigabyte modified their latest bios so that it can not be modified? I will try their F9 beta bios to see if it patches OK. Bios F7 is working, no problems encountered.

I apologize if I am in the wrong section of the forum, but I've been looking around for a while and all of the links I've clicked on have lead me here sooo..... Anyways... I was wondering if it is possible to mod BIOS so that it would have extra options in it? I don't need a modded BIOS for windows activation purposes, my copy of windows activated just fine. Rather, I want a BIOS mod for overclocking reasons. The BIOS that I have right now doesn't have options for modifying voltages to the northbridge, southbridge or HT link. Is it possible to add these options in with a BIOS mod? Here is some information about my motherboard:

No go, computer wouldn't POST. Luckily I was able to figure out how to recover from the bad flash (I flashed using afudos, command: afudos bios.rom /p /b /n /c /x) - had to put an actual copy of the legitimate bios on the bootable drive and rename it AMIBOOT.bin which fixed everything :). If I used an improper command can someone please correct me?

My motherboard is electrically compatible, but Asus hasn't updated the BIOS for the new E8000 series procs....

If someone is able and willing to do this it would be very much appreciated...

The proc I need added is the E8400... and the motherboard is the P5N32-E SLI... of course the BIOS needs to keep the Asus SLIC mod.

it failed and alerts erros: "BISO update failed!" Failed to flash BISO image. The current device is not supported in the interface. Error code -151.

The computer was dead when winphlash2.0.2.9 came to "flash BIOS" progress, I have to power it off to restart.

Flashing using gigabyte bios updater fine, but during reboot it's restoring the original bios(some kind of recovering). So there is no SLIC in everest.

I've tried your slic mod to the DFI LP NF4 Ultra D bios by Merlin and the machine boots but I can't get into the BIOS settings screen anymore.
It just sits there and waits indefinatly at the Raid detection screen after I've pressed DEL. The arrays are detected so that isn't the problem.

I've had this with an earlier mod (23112007) that China4ever did for me and he made a new one that didn't have the problem. I however have no idea how he did it.
