Hello all.
It's possible to request mod for my BIOS?
I have searched in this thread, and have found already modded BIOS. When I flashed it, Vista was activated OK, but something is not perfectly with it, its a lot of errors and some functions do not work.
Can I ask to mod it again?

Hello, I'm new to this forum, and just find out about this topic..
So i apologize if I'm misunderstanding the purpose of this topic, i have read most of the topics to see if this is the right place and seems so :)
Well i have a HP Pavilion zx5051EA Notebook and when i install Windows Vista it all goes well until the Video driver part, where i always have error code 43..
This Notebook have a Radeon Mobility 9600 64MB and it seems the problem is AGP Fast Write being enabled and theres no simple way of disabling it in Bios Menu to test and see if it fixes this problem..
I hope this topic is also for this kind of problem, if not i'm sorry but i just search every google page about this and no luck, test many solutions and none work..
So i post here a link to the last HP bios update and ask please if someone can edit the bios so i can update my notebook bios with it, and pray it works..

You first can take a look with Everst if the SLIC table is present.
Its an old style Ami bios succes rate is lower than on regular Ami.
If the SLIC table is not present it wil not activate.

I'm sorry to hear that:(, i did my best to mod it.
It's always a little tricky with Phoenix bios, the rate of succes is lower than with AMI or AWARD.
The thing is that it prematurely finished flashing but the flash utility seemed to treat that as normal and there was far more harddisk activity than any previous flashes.
Is there any information I can give to better help develop a more successful technique. I will try to get you the logs once I get access to the harddisk.

You first can take a look with Everst if the SLIC table is present.
Its an old style Ami bios succes rate is lower than on regular Ami.
If the SLIC table is not present it wil not activate.
In everest _ASUS_ (and notebook) is present under RSDT, it is not listed anywhere else, is that ok?
If that isn't ok, can you try to correct it?

What is it exactly what you are going to try -different from what you've already done- ? just so I might learn something from your words.
It's a rather old mobo so I can just buy a cheap new one if it gets bricked so that's not a huge problem...unless you think the brick chance is really that high, then it's not worth trying.

You will put the slic table in place of another table which might not be used anyway, right? Isn't there any space left? Everest shows only 6 tables whilst on most bios'es you'll find like 10 of them.
I don't know if it's of any use to you, but here you'll find the ACPI report of everest: http://home.planet.nl/~leth0029/acpitables.txt

I think I'll give it a try, in worst case I'll have to spend a few bucks on a new board, no big problem.
So if you can alter the bios by adding the whole table for me? I'll be very happy!

it s very simple : after adding SLIC (ACPI4) file to bios and replacing next to RSDT and MCFG in BIOSCOD, dont forget to add/replace "HP 309E" by "HPQOEMSLIC-MPC" (14 by 14) in MOD_5100.ROM and vista will be activated

Fzeven, thank you very much!
#1 gives checksum error at post
#2 gives black screen and does not post
#3 I'll let you know as soon as I get it recovered from #2
Btw, any suggestions to recover? Hot flash from a working board?
Motherboard Name: EVGA 112-CK-NF77-A1 (630i)
-BIOS Type: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
-BIOS Version: 1.6
-BIOS Link: http://www.evga.com/download/bios/NF77v16.zip
The board is recovered now by hot flashing from another EVGA 630i board (whew ). #3 also borked the board, but did the hotflash again to recover.
I want back through and tried all the modded bioses that you guys have posted and each one gives the same checksum error on post. I tried loading fail-safe defaults and clearing the bios with the jumper, but no luck. The checksum error reverts any changes saved to the bios back to default.
I am using awdflash v8.83 like this:
awd883 nf77v16.bin /py/sn/cc/LD/f/r
(With the LD, the checksum is not there on the first post but comes back on the second post.)
I didn't try it again with winflash 1.92 because I can only do it right now from ERD commander 2005 which seems less safe than in DOS. Also, I am booting to DOS from a USB stick. Is that wrong? What do you think? Does this board still have a chance?
Thank you! :)

ACPI firmware (bios) is invalid RSDP table error 0xc0140019
Had to reflash with qflash with origianl bios to get back in to windows .... lol
What was that error about ?
Thank you very much for helping out ... is there anything else to try ?
Cheers

I think I'll give it a try, in worst case I'll have to spend a few bucks on a new board, no big problem.
So if you can alter the bios by adding the whole table for me? I'll be very happy!
Thanks!
Here it is.

hi everybody
I found it yes i finally activate my HP pavillon DV4000 with phoenix bios (F.21) :D
it s very simple : after adding SLIC (ACPI4) file to bios and replacing next to RSDT and MCFG in BIOSCOD, dont forget to add/replace "HP 309E" by "HPQOEMSLIC-MPC" (14 by 14) in MOD_5100.ROM and vista will be activated
many thanks to all the modders who helped me and espacially you Fzeven, I LOVE YOU ALL :p
this is the link to modded bios for HP DV4000 phoenix

Thank you! :)
I've got two others for you to test.

Try to flash the original.
Hi,
Yeah I am using the standard Gigabyte bios I reflashed to it so windows would start .....
With remod bios you did i kept getting the error I posted in my last post .. 0xc0140019 ACPI firmware Bios invalid RSDP table .. when vista itself ties to start . . the actual PC booted fine but that error would happen when vista tries to load ... solution reflash to your first bios mod or original bios to get into windows.
The first Bios you did worked with vista with no errors but would not activate it .... No slic showing in everest.
Any Ideas ?

The build-in flash tool can kill you're board with a modded bios.

With #5 did the CMOS checksum error came back after the reboot?
You can try to clear the CMOS after the flash.
If it don't came back you can look with Everest if the slic table is present
Otherwise try this new one's, clear the CMOS after the flash.
Try to flash from DOS if you didn't so already.

Hi,
Yeah I am using the standard Gigabyte bios I reflashed to it so windows would start .....
Any Ideas ?
Again thanks for your help :)
Hi,,
Well I flashed the bios and its now DEAD ..... cpu fan spins , network lights on, No Beeps . No keyboard, No Video,
Is there any way to reflash back to standard in this situation? As i dont know how to reflash it like this...
I have cleared cmos, taken battery out, removed power still nothing except as described above.

I'm sorry to hear that:(, you can try to clear the cmos and try a bios recovery.

I wasn't able to hotflash it on my other computer (one flash software did not support the mobo, the other did not support the bios) but I've ordered a new mobo, and maybe I can hotflash my old bios on that new mobo, so I'll give it a try!

Thanks in advance

With #5 did the CMOS checksum error came back after the reboot?
You can try to clear the CMOS after the flash.
If it don't came back you can look with Everest if the slic table is present
Otherwise try this new one's, clear the CMOS after the flash.
Try to flash from DOS if you didn't so already.
http://www.box.net/shared/oqronh4is0
Yes, #5 gives CMOS checksum error after reboot. I noticed with the original EVGA bios, it also gives checksum error on the first boot, but is fine after the second boot, going into BIOS, saving, then reboot again (#3). With any other bios I tried so far, the checksum error is always there.
#6 - "Warning! INVALID BIOS ROM, ERROR CODE = 51"
#7 - "CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded"
Again, any saves to the bios are lost when the defaults get loaded back in. :(
I haven't visited everest yet because Vista is loaded on a RAID0 array, which I can't enable because it's not the bios default. If it helps to troubleshoot, I can clone it to a single disk, and then get into Vista from there. Let me know.
Also, I'm flashing with awdflash v8.83 from DOS v7.1 setup on a USB thumb drive. This time I did it like this:
awd883 nf77v16.bin /py/sn/cc/cd/cp/f/r
Thanks again! :)
