Last time I use your previous mod with afudos and no /p /b /n /c switches, it hangs while writing bootblock at 97%. I'm not sure what's the problem.

The already modded 2 bios'ses found on this board for the Abit an52 doesn't seem to work, one does not let me boot into Vista, and the other one is not working for the activation. I have already a activated bios for my abit an9 32x so it's not that I don't now how to activate with the bios mod.

Regarding post 2465 (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=15271&postcount=2465), I tried changing bytes in a blank area of China4Ever's modded bios to make the checksum equal to the original (7551), but still get the checksum error. Anyone know how Award 6.00PG calculates the checksum value? Is it 8-bit, 16-bit, or some other way? I think just maybe I could change bytes in a blank area of the modded bios until its checksum matches the original value, but I've no idea what that value is. :o

Thank you for the info:).
With AMI bios it is always better to use afudos with the switches '/p /b /n /c' rather than the build in flash tool.
Some times it works some times it will brick the mobo.
Have some fun with it.

Install Vista, import the HP certificate, enter a slp2.0 key.
If everything is oke vista activates.

My computer has serious trouble with s3 sleep. It goes into an infinite reboot where it seems like it just doesn't get enough power to start up properly (a lot of clicking sounds and fan noise). Have to cut the power with the PSU-switch to get it up and running again. So I can't say if it does something to the activation.

Hate to ask this again, but the 1503 bios for the m2n32-sli had a glitch that locked the HT multi at 1x.....after the asus tech said that this was stabile...geesh.

Thanks, this worked! I do have an issue going out of S3 sleep. If doing S3 sleep for say 30 minutes, it comes out fine in 3-4 seconds as it should. But if left to sleep say overnight, or 4+ hours, it seems to do a full reboot, and then comes up saying "resuming windows Vista" rather than "starting windows vista". but it actually seems to take longer coming out of S3 here as the disk restores all that was running. I have NOT upgraded to SP1. Thanks again, and maybe there are some clues on the S3 sleep?

No that peticulary bios is only slp2.0.
You can try this one added slp1.0 Asus, so if it's alright you can use you're Asus notebook cd.

Have finally managed to flash this! was a struggle without a floppy drive and by using sata, i used the flash menu utility on the abit website to flash via windows........ultimate 32bit activated!

p.s. if anyone else tries flashing through windows (i know its risky!) the app stopped responding for a while and i just left it to run and it sorted itself out!

Did you reset the cmos.
Did you flashed back to the original F8 revision to see if the error resolves it self.
