I did it with same x86 leak but this also applies to x64:
I extracted rar-s with WinRAR(selected all from part1 and so on). Then specified extraction point and WinRAR took care of the files(extracted install.wim correctly from part1,part2 and part3 :) )
After finished i used ISO recorder and created ISO.Burning this iso now :)
Unfortunately size and SHA-1 didnt match with the ones specified here:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=6378
Im guessing this is because i created the iso myself?
Also downloading x64 now.Average ~180kb/s

that post in dailytech is dated July 14 , and they only mentioned 16384 not final, they did not mention anything about 16385 though.
I know I am a little late to the party on replying to this post but I had to.
I am actually getting a kick at how people are pulling at straws to show something "isnt" the RTM.
First like you pointed out (and when I first read it I had really hoped someone had) that it doesn't even mention the newest leak and the thing about comparing it to the Vista final build made me go... wtf. We are dealing with a totally different OS so its like saying a tree that grows apples should grow oranges too since its a tree. I mean MS could go this way but I am still out on that bit.
There arent any signs I see SO far that point me that this IS the definite build to be burned to retail disks but the signs people point to that say it "isnt" are more vague than the others. The current release from the windowsteam blog does not cover 16385.
Also on another note, wouldn't it make more sense (if all goes well in their testing) that the actual final compile was done on the 13th. Then they could say "We did not RTM on that day, but we did do the RTM compile that day." We now know direct from Microsoft that it is not considered RTM till after AT LEAST 2 steps and I'm sure a lot more. The two we know are that first after the compile the build is ran through a pretty big battery of tests to ensure its worthy. Second, it is not even "labeled" RTM till all the languages that are to be released are compiled. The second part isnt just giving people a language pack to use but actually making the OS work in that language fresh out of install.
there has not been a new build since this one, at this point they dont have time to waste, if this is NOT the rtm i think we would have seen new builds by now.

Seriously... the x64 version of 16385 isn't bootable... I've burned off the contents of the rars (not in the directory of course -- in the root of the disc) twice now, and it's just not booting. Something's missing, but comparing it side-by-side to the 16384 ISO I can't find the difference for the life of me...
ANY clues on how to do this?! It's FRUSTRATING, and I'm not wasting a 3rd DVD...

hello,
i made some bootable iso with the rars,
then it tells me when i'm installing that "install.wim not found" but it's into the iso,
what is the fix ?
thanks.
i have the same problem with x86 rars.
(i used the iso of 7600.16384 and opened it with magic iso, deleted all the files and added all files coming from .rar files then saved the iso, so i got bootable iso).

What exactly do you mean? I used ImgBurn to burn every single file onto the disc. The contents on the disc are EXACTLY the same contents of the 3 extracted rars, but the disc won't Boot. It will autorun in Windows and will run perfectly fine within a booted system, but isn't able to be booted from. I've double-verified this on 2 machines as well as within VMBox and VMWare.. it just plain doesn't work. There has to be something else that you have to do in order to make this work, such as a bootable flag, or possibly a different burning program where you specify 'bootable disc', but I figured that with the files included on the disc being EXACTLY the same as the previous build (16384), that it should work just fine... I've been doing things like this for years and have never had a problem... I wish a pre-built DVD image was floating around somewhere... I spent HOURS torrenting these 3 rar's...

You have to navigate to boot/etfsboot.com for the part that allows you to make it bootable.

Right... I've created an ISO with ImgBurn also. Didn't work... I have to find the correct method with ImgBurn, because I swore myself off of Nero a long time ago -- it's bloatware. I'm assuming there's just a bootable 'flag' when creating an ISO. can anyone recommend any other programs other than Nero to do this?

Or you could use CDBurnerXP which has the benefit of being free
Just run the program and select from the file menu: "Write Disc from ISO file". Then select the image and you're good to go.

Just deliver it is not ISO. Installation of cannon through the USB Flash (USB Stick) (4GB), formatted in NTFS with the active partition and reproduction of all the files from the archive. Installation of 2 faster than from DVD and save the media from the 7229 version so I do always have the DVD use.

if installed you can also use WAIK tools to create a bootable iso ....
into disk "c:" create the \7work folder
into 7work , create \iso and \dvd sub folders
c:\7work
|__\DVD
|__\ISO
copy all files and windows folders structure into \dvd
copy etfsboot.com from DVD\boot into 7work
then from 7work dir ;
run the simple batch here called by example "startiso.bat"
so later you can use this batch for other win 7 bootable iso creation
@echo Off
set WORKLW=C:
set WORKDIR=7Work
set WAIK=C:\Program Files\Windows AIK
set LANG=fr-FR
set WD=%WORKLW%\%WORKDIR%\DVD
set ISO=%WORKLW%\%WORKDIR%\ISO
echo Create bootable ISO from DVD files...
"%WAIK%\Tools\x86\oscdimg.exe" -n -m -betfsboot.com "%WD%" "%ISO%\Windows 7.iso"
echo Everything is done! The ISO is in the directory "%ISO%"
pause
exit
working fast and perfect here ...
other tip with power iso or ultra iso programs
load a bootable iso from a previous buid ....
delete all files and folders and replace them with new build files
rebuild the iso .... it's done .....

Thanks Kaper. Just some quick info. Is this modified already, is it bootable? Must we do the cdimage trick to get it to boot?
Thanks,
Tony.

Thats what I was wondering also. Anyway Kaper is offline (at this time) but I only have 6 parts left and I will give more info later once it is done if Kaper does not first.

This is what I'm doing:
Unraring to a directory, then load it into vLite to create a bootable .iso
Initially it threw some errors while loading the files, so I took ownership of the contents of the folder and tried it again, and it loaded into vLite without issue.

Download finished and Kaper's RS links are the Windows files, not the ISO.
I also get an error during extraction:install.wim file is broken :( (might just be my download, but I should mention it in case it is corrupt)

OK thanks for the reply. I will give it a go and if it does not work for me I will just swap out the install.wim file and that should fix it.

other tip with power iso or ultra iso programs
load a bootable iso from a previous buid ....
delete all files and folders and replace them with new build files
rebuild the iso .... it's done .....
Worked perfectly!!
use cdimage
check this post for instructions on how to make bootable iso

Just put the Win7 files in" C:\Win7 " and run cdimage GUI . It is ready to make the iso bootable.
download CDIMAGE configured to make the Win7.iso bootable (http://www.mediafire.com/?wyn4jokyzyz)

why not boot in repair mode (f8 on boot)then go to cmd and run setup.exe from there, clean install no iso needed / no bootable dvd or usb stick
plain and simple

Is it for x64? Because when I open the "cdimagegui.ini" I see this "ltext=Win7x86_EN_DVD"

I'm non sure about this, but I guess this is not a real Win7 build... The installation GUI is the same of Vista, except for the logo, and what about the Home Basic version? Does it really exist?
However, I'm using build 16384 and, for the moment, it's really fine.

Just change: " WIn7x86_EN_DVD " to " Win7x64_EN_DVD " if you want to create a 64 bit iso
