Give me a few minutes and I will work on it but I am working on another mod now...

I have had my Bios modded twice by adrpat (I'm very grateful for the effort) but both attempts were unsuccessful.
First mod gave a 'Checksum not zero error'.
Second mod flashed OK but Slic Dump Toolkit v1.0.8 shows RSDT != Pubkey == Marker
Third time lucky perhaps?
If anyone would like to keep trying, here are the details again:

Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2515
Bios Revision : 1.11c
Bios Type : Phoenix
Bios SLIC : FSC 2.0 at present, would like FUJITSU (FUJ-PC-FUJ) 2.1
Bios Link : http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Download/ShowDescription.asp?SoftwareGUID=E3BC4B31-6395-4C69-9678-088C9AA37480&OSID=DD13C337-8EFF-4CFB-A589-72971D7BCBCE&Status=True&Component=Flash%20-%20BIOS
Rw-everything report : Attached

Thanks.

cannot find bcp dmi block in bios rom help me thanks

This bios has been tested and proven to work....I am not sure of what to tell you since I do not know your computer....

Are flashing the bios correctly.

If you're using DOS bootable floppy (w/o himen.sys) created in Windows,
you will get an error like "can't present memory manager" while you
update the BIOS (ie himen.sys)

You may do either one of the two ways to resolve:
1. press F5 to bypass himem.sys
2. modify the parameter from /S to /X

You are at the wrong part of the forum....you need to place AMI and Award Bios Request here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=5863

This is for Phoenix Bios and your bios is Award for Abit and MSI is both Award and AMI

I couldn't wait 'til tomorrow...

This mod flashed OK and FUJITSU cert installed fine but Slic Dump Toolkit still shows RSDT != PubKey == Marker (See attached.)

I see there is still an instance of FSC PC at address BF95h in BIOSCOD01.ROM but don't know nearly enough about modding to know if this is the cause.

Edit: All 3 modded Bios files are different (I've checked the hashes) so I'm definitely not just flashing the same mod each time!

I'm not going to hold any punches on this one....Sony Bios is one of the most difficult bios that is made.

I have not seen very many successful modifications. I do have your version of the bios modified but it has never been tested.

I give it to you if you choose to use it but do so at your own risk and make a Phoenix Crisis Disk before flashing your bios if you choose to use this modified version.

I know a lot of people love the DUMP Tool that is being floated around here but when you use it to show someone the problem, most of the time you cannot read anything in it because of its background....the background is DARK and the lettering is light green or some other light color.

So, that little device did not tell me a thing since I cannot read it....and I have a very strong Video Card.

I guess the part that matters from the tool's dump is the RSDT: FSC PC (whereas it should be FUJ PC, I think), hence RSDT != PubKey
Otherwise, the tool reports that the Checksum is OK and that the Slic is V2.1

If you need any other information, please let me know.
Cheers.

Do this for me

USING RW EVERYTHING:

Download and Install RW Everthing from this link: http://www.box.net/shared/6elilfknrg OR http://www.box.net/shared/m92lzhego8

1. Open RW Everything and at the top left hand corner of the program, click ACCESS - ACPI TABLES.

2. Wait for the ACPI TABLES to load.

3. When ACPI TABLES finishes loading, the ACPI TABLES window will open.

4. In the window of ACPI TABLES, click on SLIC button.

5. When the SLIC window opens, click anywhere inside that window and then click CONTROL + F2.

6. This will save the ACPI file. Upload that file to me to www.mediafire.com or www.box.net or whateveer storage place works for you and then send the link to me.

Read the HOW TO CREATE A BOOTABLE USB FLASH DRIVE that was included in the download and follow those instructions.

When you create this bootable usb flash drive, then reboot the computer and make sure your first boot device is USB Flash DRIVE (HDD) so that it can boot from it.

Why did you flash back when the SLIC 2.1 was there according to your testimony? You are correct, I do not need the RW Everything report on your old bios.

At command prompt, type: AWD8833S nap5.23 /py /sn /cc /e <ENTER>

Er....There is no text file on 'How to create a bootable USB flash drive'..

Cheers.

The new BIOS from motofreak75 works great, but I am still looking for a way to permanently disable the Computrace model from the BIOS.
I am asking for this because every time I disable it, it is set to dormant after a reboot. I also have 4 processes running under WindowsXP. I know it is possible to stop those processes, but I have never asked for those processes when I bought this laptop.

So I am looking for a solution for this annoying Computrace model.

Thank you in advance!

Why are you showing an Emulated Bios in your Tables?

Did you install a loader, patch, cr**k or bios emulator prior to flashing your hard drive with the modified bios?

And I already know the answer.

ACPI Table Properties:
ACPI Signature XSDT
Table Description Extended System Description Table
Memory Address Emulated
Table Length 84 bytes
OEM ID DELL
OEM Table ID QA09
Creator ID LTP

But before I flashed I removed the loader for Windows 7 and also used VOATK Tools v.2.5 to remove any others.
How do I know if any loaders are present?
What can I do now?

Hey Guys, inside the bios package there is no .wph or .rom file, just a file named 50RIC.107. I tried to open it with newest PBE, but that fails. Maybe you can help me out. Many thanks in advance!

I am not sure how to extract the .ROM or .WPH file from Fitjitsu but I know it can be done. You may have to install this new version and hopefully it will allow you to back up the bios...if it does, then send that to us.

But before I flashed I removed the loader for Windows 7 and also used VOATK Tools v.2.5 to remove any others.
How do I know if any loaders are present?
What can I do now?

Reinstall windows and format the hard drive and do a clean installation

I need to strongly emphasize the fragile nature of a SONY Bios. They are most difficult to modify. And, to be honest, I have yet to see one to be modified. Below is a modified version of your bios but I strongly suggest you flash in DOS.

However, if you choose to flash your bios with the modified version below, you do so at your own risk. Just remember, you have been warned. And the Phoenix Crisis Bios Recovery Disk does not work well on a SONY computer.

You will have to extract the .WPH or .ROM file on your own because we cannot open this file without it trying to flash our bios and we are not going to do that...find a way of extracting the .WHP or .ROM file....

I am sure I use PH1614 :-)

I hope you did not use S10GM600

This is what you are suppose to type: ph1614 /x /y /cc S10GM600.WPH

You know there is a space between 14 and /x and another space between /x and /y and another space between /y and /cc and another space between /cc and S10GM600.WPH.

And you typed cc/ rather than like this /cc

And you are suppose to add the ending to S10GM600.WPH and not like this: S10GM600 without the .WPH.

I know you think that DUMP TOOL is the end all of the best but it is not...sorry to rain on your parade....first, I cannot read it because of the background colors and color of the print.

I don't go by that....I go by a true RW Everything report.

Can you clear CMOS and you may have to open your computer and remove the battery or change some jumpers around....consult your manual for this.

There is nothing about clear Cmos nor Jumpers in my Notebook Manual. This Manual is a small flashbased howto, nothing about the Mainboard, and how to switch Jumpers.

Did you noticed, that we spoke about a damn small Notebook,
which can't easely opened and jumpered?

Maybe you are able to disassemble and assemble Notebooks.. maybe you are able to set Jumpers without special knowledge about this Notebook. But I can't.

So far so good.. HELP IS NEEDED!

I sent my RW-Report in my previous Post.

Ok here it is >>> http://rapidshare.com/files/268121819/AcpiTbls.rw.html

Try it again with the option type: ph1614 /x /y /cc S10GM600.WPH but no suc6

only got a help usage with a lot / options.

I read it again and there is no /y ?

/X .... Ignore XMS memory manager check.
/Z .... Zero before erasing a block.
/UUID ....

Greetz

-sorry about bad english-

No, I don't remember....because you are on a list of about 100 people who contact me daily and how in the hell am I to remember everyone.

You may have to get your chip reprogrammed by the manufacturer of your motherboard....if you can't use Phoenix Crisis Disk then you have no other choice.

You are not careful enough with the switches.....do you know what every switch will take effect?
/x (flash through memory manager)
/s (silent mode)

For most cases they are sufficient!

Btw: /CC What for????
/y.... ???????????
Please don't advise when you don't know what is really needed....to play with switches isn't just a game....

It's no problem..you have to edit the PHLASH.INI using notepad to advanced=1. At advanced options untick all, except verify block after programming.

Here is the mod, or flash your own...

Reinstall windows and format the hard drive and do a clean installation

That is what I did when I installed Windows 7. It took me ages to put all my files back on.

Are you sure this will work?

No need to apologise.;) Some archives are containing 2 different model versions. The user has to know which one is the right one.
And I've already modified them both and gave arrows the link to, but he didn't notice about. Keep on your good work. It's almost unbelievable to me how much and how fast you are modifying.....:);)

I reinstalled Windows 7 (clean, no loaders etc. installed) and i cannot get it activated.

I think there is something missing in the slic.
I wonder why i am the only one having problems, so far 3 or 4 persons got it activated with the bios mod from Busykid508.

Here is my RW-Everything Report

Are you sure VOATK removed all the patches and loaders....because, as I recall, you had some bios emulator still showing in Everest....is that true?

It was showing up in my RW report as you said.

Why are you showing an Emulated Bios in your Tables?

Did you install a loader, patch, cr**k or bios emulator prior to flashing your hard drive with the modified bios?

And I already know the answer.

ACPI Table Properties:
ACPI Signature XSDT
Table Description Extended System Description Table
Memory Address Emulated
Table Length 84 bytes
OEM ID DELL
OEM Table ID QA09
Creator ID LTP

I had Vista before with vistaloader. But formatted the hdd and installed Windows 7. I was using 7loader. But removed it, and used VOATK tools. Then flashed the bios.

BIOS Dump tool still says 2.0.

I will reformat again if you want.

BTW, do you have any idea on how to remove CompuTrace it activated somehow. It's stored in the BIOS. Please let me know. Thanks.

Very thanks for Mr.c help and Busykid508 modification, the mod bios works in my dv5030us notebook. I am using 309b0f54_slic.whp in mod package.

Just a tip for others, original BIOS include two whp file for two type BIOS chips, if you don't know using which file, just download org HP BIOS package ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35204.exe, then run it, after winflash windows display, click EXIT, then check in root directory should exist a directory name W309BF54, in this directory exist two WPH file, if 309b1f54.wph exist, you should using 309b0f54.wph to flash your bios, otherwise you should use 309b1f54.wph. And remember using phlash16.exe to flash your bios in DOS, don't use winflash include in org BIOS package.

Thanks so much for the quick response! I definitally didn't think I'd get a response so soon.

The BIOS flashed successfully using phlash16 in real DOS mode from a usb key

I flashed the BIOS, and the preinstalled Vista 32bit home basic won't boot.
I did a hard reboot, tried the "Last known good config/repair/whatever", still nothing

tried safe mode, it stops at "Loaded \Windows\system32\DRIVERS\storport.sys "

I tried booting off win7 x64 OEM dvd, it stops after "Windows is loading files...", at "Starting Windows" and I don't get the animated logo or anything.

I tried booting off win7 x86 OEM dvd, and i get a blue screen.
"HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED"
STOP 0x0000005C

Flashed original back on, and everything works fine again..

Any advice?

I am sorry but this will have to wait until tomorrow...I am finding a problem between the tools that I use and your bios file....I did not have this problem when I first modified it.

But I cannot do anything with it until tomorrow....but please remind me tomorrow about this problem and please include the information of your bios.

Many Many Thanks Yen !

This one works for my Extensa 5220

I flashed again from DOS, almost lost all my hope, but then...
flash worked fine and now the missing slic entries are there :D

And if someone is interested my new RW-Everything Report

Does anyone have a clue why the first bios from Busykid508 did not work for me but for several other users ? Does my Extensa has a devilish bios ? ;)

Anyway, many thanks for Modding this Bios and some *kisses* to Yen and Busykid

Any advice?

I have modded your Aspire 5516 BIOS with Lenovo 5M LTP SLIC.
I double checked the checksum of each module after modding.

Q1: I have got in attached file two rom files... S10GM600.rom and S10PM600.rom, which is correct to flash my BIOS?
Q2: phlash16.exe uses *wph files, mine are *rom? Should in rename only or convert rom to wph?
Q3: Should I activate with slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\xxxxx.xrm-ms where xxxxx is Toshiba file or use xrm-ms dell or hp file? which slmgr.vbs -ipk key should I use? Could anyone put a link to correct key and xrm file for Toshiba A100-294? I got also cert-key.exe file, should I use before or after installing Win 7?

I need to strongly emphasize the fragile nature of a SONY Bios. They are most difficult to modify. And, to be honest, I have yet to see one to be modified. Below is a modified version of your bios but I strongly suggest you flash in DOS.

However, if you choose to flash your bios with the modified version below, you do so at your own risk. Just remember, you have been warned. And the Phoenix Crisis Bios Recovery Disk does not work well on a SONY computer.

You need to extract the .ROM or .WPH file for us.

In this archive there are the .rom and .wph file of the bios:
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/travelmate_7720/bios/v1.35.zip

I compared the files, the seem to be the same as the one in the Acer Extensa 5220 bios archive.

Thanks for supper fast modded from you, but I'm sorry to borther you again, because I got a problem to flash a modified Bios from you.
I got a message error "File has different Bios part number". Would you please help me to correct this problem. Thank you very much!!

Ok, I just modified your bios one more time and I changed out the SLIC which was in contradiction with the present slic in the original bios file.

Now, the slics match and let me know how this went for you.

If you did an MD5 checksum and they produce identical hash it is very safe to flash because they ARE in fact identical.
A single byte difference will produce a different hash so don't worry.

Flash was successful, and I'm able to boot into my original vista install successfully. I had to go hunt down a cert and slp key combo for this install of vista home basic for lenovo, and everything works great! activated!

I'll try Win7 later on today when I go to work.

Yep Lenovo 2.1 is back compatible with vista, they use the same certificate but different key for now you have to make do with the leaked Win7 Key, don't mind report success in this thread (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=7500).

There is NO ACER CERTIFICATE FOR Win7 yet.
You have to mod with SLIC from HP, DELL or Lenovo etc only those have the same and uses the old Vista Certificates.
Use the search function this BIOS have been done before.

Do you want me to modify the bios though the modified one that works for another machine will work for your machine? If it already has been proven to work, then use it and don't worry about modifying this bios in the download link above. Let me know.:)

You and weinter were absolutely right. I shoudn't have worried so much.

I can now confirm that the modded bios for Extensa 5220 also works 100% for Acer Travelmate 7720.

Please don't try for sony anymore! THEY ARE PROTECTING the oemid's. IF there is no SLIC before, it WILL NOT WORK!!
I've spend several days to get it to work WITHOUT any success!!!

If somebody wants to try for a pci mod, please reply to the advanced thread here:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=8194

I also need the Vendor and device IDs of the lan adapter found at device manager. I'll try for a SSv2_PCI mod. This COULD work.
IF it's working I'll send to andy the code that he can implement that special option into the tool.
Waiting for your replies over there...

I couldn't flash with phlash16 because it said failed to open Devel.... file. I tried flashing with the manufactor tools and it went fine. Everest shows that Slic 2.1 is inserted but i can't get it activated. I tried Orbit+Hazar's loader ... with inslic bios option and then i tried manually...win won't activate...i've done that process on other pc's and got it working. I will do a clean reinstall and test again .... or do you have any other suggestions?

Hope the bak file works for mod, then I can sit quietly waiting...

The reason that I can't extract the rom or wph file from 700m_a07.exe is that when I boot to dos and use the dos version 700m_a07.exe with following:
700m_a07.exe -writeromfile
or 700m_a07.exe -writehdrfile
or 700m_a07.exe -writehexfile
the utility direct me to the flash process, it seems like the parameter didn't exist

-Bios File Link : http://cid-cd79c157b3b0ad83.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/700m%7C_a07.BAK
-Rw-everything report.

Note: for the bios file, I use Winphlash Utility get it from my laptop. It is a .bak file, which I think it is same as .rom or .wph

Thanks in advance!

You mean you can only use SONY SLIC with SONY BIOS and it is not possible to sub the OEMTABLE AND OEMID for those with SLIC 2.0?

If the bios contains a SLIC2.0 already it's possible to substitute it with another OEM, yes. Therefore you have to manually check, since the OEMIDs are split.

If the bios contains no SLIC at all, I have to try for a special SSv2_PCI mod method. It's a new way....This COULD work also..if you are interested please move over to the advanced thread....I'll try anything I can to get it to work if you are willing to try also...up to you.....prepare for anything that could happen...:)

That is a relief the SONY BIOS I modded earlier had SLIC 2.0
I did make sure the other untouched Modules after modding have the same CheckSum

To reformat doesn't kill any loader. Delete ALL partitions and recreate them as well. First we have to make this mod working..after that I'll have a try...

I deleted every partition and recreated them. And reinstalled Windows 7.
Still no luck. :(
Now what? I'm going crazy over this. lol
