hi,
I would appreciate any help with finding modded bios files for as many individual brands as possible, that will work in versions 6 - 6.5 of VM Workstation, for XP Pro.
I am working on a small project, where my purpose is to make a small patcher that will directly patch "vmware-vmx.exe BINRES resource no.6006" for whichever manufacturer selected (ie. Acer,Asus,Alienware,Compaq,HP, IBM,NEC,Sony,Toshiba ...etc.) ....eliminating the need to edit config files manually...and allowing specific bios choice.
So far, I have successfully made a small patcher that is working well, but at the moment it has a very short menu ... Asus, and multi-OEM ... lol (but my aim is to grow the menu).
Pictures of patcher process here (4 picture gif):-

Any help with sourcing individual pre-modded bios brand files much appreciated, as I am pretty hopeless with Phoenix Bios Editor....(I can change logos with it, but that's about it).
Thanks. :)

@urie .... many thanks for quick response.
1st "oops" link perfect, individual files for each brand, except like you said for Vista.
2nd link great, that's the multi-bios set incorporating various brands, and is the one I use in option "2" of the patcher I made.
Ideally, I am after the "individual" bios mods for each individual brand like in the "oops" link ..... only for Xp, rather than Vista.
Trying to have patcher with individual options like:-
1)Acer
2)Alienware
3)Asus
4)Compaq
5)Dell
6),7),8),9)10 ......etc.,etc - (like maybe 20 individual options)
to be able to patch any individual brand available, as well as have the multi-version available on patcher.
cheers for replying :)

May I just ask: Why?
If I install XP on VM with ie Dell SLP1 why would I need to have any other SLP available?
You can have only single activation at any one time anyway
It is not legal way to do it anyway, so why bother?
Sorry, but I really see no need for this tool (apart from the expected answer "Because I CAN"), but I could of course not see something obvious...

I don't think "I hope this is legal" crosses many people's mind around here. I would hope there is some modicum of ethics around, but I think at this point, testing programs or custom iso is a good enough reason.
I would imagine 99% of the people asking for a mod are not replacing a legit activation, it is not legal to activate Vista on another board anyhow, so we could "Why" all night.....
The less I know about the why the better..Ignorance is bliss..

@sebus & 911medic ....
hi guys,
for clarification, I am testing custom iso made using this addon:-
http://siginetsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=541
The patcher for VMWare I have made, (which I would like to improve by adding individual brands) is purely for vmware, patching "vmware-vmx.exe" , rather than manually editing config file in "My Documents" ... the purpose of which is to test specific brands installation in vmware, rather than waste time making a disk, installing live, to find did not work.
As I am testing multiple brands, I just thought having patcher that could select "specific" brand would make life a little easier.
If people are nervous about me asking for individual vmware bios modded files, then I am happy enough to skip the request.

Nope..I think it is a good idea..Some people seem to have a HTT complex, and can't let things alone..
You can add the SLP string for any OEM that has a range in DMI with PBE. The process is simple. I cant imagine that any SLIC info was added without adding the SLP oem strings to manufacturer area..easy enough to check yourself with the same tool.
