Here's a Vmware bios with "Dell System" added for SLP1 activation and Dell SLIC.

It should work with following oembios files:

Asus OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=B20C65BF
Dell System OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=63875D1F
Dell System OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=B6F0EEFD
Hewlett-Packard OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=06D652A4
HP & Compaq OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=CD4E1902
IBM Corporation OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=D7A77612
Lenovo OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=5237B729
NEC Computers OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=678752DC
NEC Computers OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=E32D3612
Toshiba OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=A16F9D62

You can also use ASUS - 2411858C.
(Oembios.exe doesn't know about that set.)

Ok this is probably a dumb question. How do I update to the new bios?
Is there a flasher program for vmware ?

Every virtual machine has a configuration file whose name ends in .vmx.
Edit this file with notepad and add a command to specify an alternate bios:
bios440.filename = "VMWARE65_SLP1_MANY_SLIC_DELL.ROM".

In the above example, the actual file name of the bios is VMWARE65_SLP1_MANY_SLIC_DELL.ROM and the bios file jhas been stored in the same subdirectory as the .vmx file. If it is not in the same subdirectory simply specify the fully qualified file name.

Worked prefect. I'm using vmare workstation 6.5.1 build 126-130.

same SLP..Dell 02.1 SLIC . . thank you very much for this: copied this into VMWare Fusion 2.05 [Host system OSX 10.5.7] & worked straightaway & utterly hasslefree for a new install of [Dell] Vista Ultimate 32bit SP2

Will try & report back with Win7 when/if released.

The vmware bios didn't change from 6.51 to 6.52. I tried the bios with dell 2.1 slic that 911medic posted with Vmware Workstation 6.5.2 and it worked fine.
