Hi,

i want to create a detailed guide on how to mod your bios.

i have a gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Rev2.0 board.

and i want to write the guide based on this bios. the "knowledge" i have now is from the guide on "My Digital Life" web site.

Here are the steps i tried: (i will exclude the screen shots for now)

1) opend the bios using MODBIN6.EXE.
2) opend original.bin wich was created by MODBIN6.EXE with winhex.
3) searched for RSDT and there i got stuck cause i cant find that string...

Please help me getting this guide going :)

Thanks

Hi,

there are a lot of useful instructions in this forum. You have chosen a old method. The method is out of date.

Yen,
thanks for the guide.

can you explain me a bit about the part with the hex calculation?

can parts of a bios can be recycled? like the acpi table, for next bios release?

can you please take a look at the bios CHINA4EVER made me and tell me what changed, cause i cant see the differnce between the original and the modded one in the acpi table after i extract it and compre it?!

China4Ever used an other method, called isa module.

Itīs very easy to mod.

Check: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=3746&postcount=22

To add that module is all. No changes at acpitable necessary!!
