I just read the guide for modding Award Bios.

I have some questions:
1. In the guide page 1, it says "Such as the use of disk version 1.55, into ACPI mode after causing distortion, please use the disk 2.20". What does it means by distortion? Is that means I should first use CBROM 1.55 but if it causes "distortion" then I should use CBROM 2.20? If yes, can anyone provide me the link to CBROM 1.55 cos the one in the guide will give the download for CBROM 2.20? If I should always use CMROM 2.20 then it is ok cos the link is still there.

2. For XSDT part found in page 2 of the guide, I understand that I should add eight "00". Four in front of the calculated offset and 4 after the calculated offset. For example, 00 00 00 00 FA F1 FF 70 00 00 00 00. Is that correct?

3. Award Bios and Phoenix Bios, are they the same thing?

Thanks :)

This is cbrom1.55 (AFAIK the latest, even there are higher version numbers)
I suggest you: Download a modded Award bios that has only RSDT table AND a modded one that has RSDT and XSDT tables. Compare them with its original extracting Acpitable: cbrom bios.bin /acpitbl extract

Then you will see the differences.

Award and Phoenix are now different companies with different bioses.(You need different tools)

sorry, but as soon as I will get more time, IŽll give you detailed instructions.

Choose some examples.....good luck ......:) :) :)

See you,

Yen
