Microsoft has completed development of server platform messaging and collaboration Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.
The final RTM release Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 signed assembly under the number: 14.00.0639.021.
Officially, the final RTM version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 will be released only on November 9 at the conference TechEd Conference in Berlin (Germany).
Exchange Server 2010 released exclusively in 64-bit performance and brings new features data storage and deployment, the extension-rennym mailbox management, built-in backup mail, a tool for clustering and database replication, as well as processed by the client Outlook Web Access.
Exchange Server 2010 is positioned as a hybrid system, suitable for home use as a basis for hosting the postal service, and to deploy in a corporate environment.
Internet hosting version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 for final polzova-ers will come later - in May-June 2010.

Yes product needs key to run beyond 120 days.

Just installed the linked RTM over my RC-Install. It is a multi-language installer, the former RC was English, now it transformed the whole install to German. :)
We still need a working serial, I only have 70days left...

But attention: Uninstalling Exchange 2010 is a bit difficult .. I had to do it two times and it was quite a lot of work in the powershell to clear the AD an uninstall it.

No its not I have ripped my exchange config out of AD many times. You have to uninstall all your roles first then once those are all uninstalled uninstall the management tools and it will remove the org info out of AD. If that doesn't work then just go into the system node in ADUC and delete it out of there.

The biggest thing is to remember to backup your mailbox before nuking exchange.

According to the dev's Blog here (http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/11/09/453096.aspx), there is no need for entering a product-key.

Let me quote one developer:


The key is a licensing requirement. In other words - you have 120 days to evaluate the product and buy it. Once you buy it - you can just enter the key and not having to reinstall the product. In that way - the transition from Eval to Full is not disruptive to your users.

So the license prompt is there to remind you of the fact, that is all.

Please see the http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232170.aspx, specifically the "Evaluations and Product Keys" section. I am looking to have that added to Exchange 2010 documentation too, as it still applies.

NOTE TO ALL: it might take us a day or two to sort this out, but your servers will keep working. Even if the counter reaches zero (0) - there is no loss of functionality or service disruption that you will experience.

Can anybody already confirm what will happen exactly after the 119 days evaluation period?

I just run ES2007 @home to play with and like to move to WS2008R2 and ES2010.

If no loss of functionality and only getting the end of evaluation message when opening the exchange console, it is no problem for me. But will the security and spam updates still work?

This might be hard to test at this moment!
